This is not real truth. The verse quoted happens after the rapture. Job 14:20,21 and Ecclesiastes 9:5 give the present condition of the dead. Exegesis is not correct.

As for the thief on the cross next to Christ he was told he will join the Lord in paradise. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 states “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” These are those who died as Christians before the rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 then states “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” These are the living Christians at the time of the rapture.

Scholars believe that it actually says And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise" The comma is misplaced it goes after the word today, and not before. So Jesus is assuring the tiff that very day that Someday they will both see each other again in heaven.

The tribulation saints are the souls killed after the rapture. No other soul has ascended to heaven since Christ died on the cross.

This is not real truth. The verse quoted happens after the rapture. Job 14:20,21 and Ecclesiastes 9:5 give the present condition of the dead. Exegesis is not correct.

John 3:13 clearly states 'And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.'
As for the thief on the cross next to Christ he was told he will join the Lord in paradise.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 states “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” These are those who died as Christians before the rapture.
1 Thessalonians 4:17 then states “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” These are the living Christians at the time of the rapture.
The only one that has been resurrected is Jesus and He said the dead know nothing. They are dead waiting for th egg or resurrection. If Jesus lied then your faith in Him as savior is in vain.

Short answer. No, they aren't. And neither is Mary, because she isn't omnipotent and able to hear 100,000 prayers every night. And be in a million places at one's to watch and guide a million people simultaneously. That's what jesus does. Dead people being conscious in heaven goes against a dozen bible verses. Only a select few in biblical history have had the privilege. The rest of them wait in the dust for judgement.

It's a metaphor, just like Abel's blood "the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground." Do you really think his blood actually cried out? Ecclesiastes 9:5 the dead know nothing. The only humans in Heaven are the 24 elders that came out of the grave when Yeshua was crucified. Scripture does not state who they are.

If you keep reading the Bible states in Mathew 17:9 that it was a vision. Yeshua said that there will be some standing here that will not die until they see Yeshua in His Kingdom, Kefa ( Peter ), Ya'kov ( James ) and Yochanan ( John ) saw the Kingdom through this vision. On the cross Yeshua called out for God, El or Elohim in Hebrew, not Eliyah. This is one of the mistranslations in English from Greek bibles. The Hebrews or Jews standing by understood he was quoting Psalm 22. The Roman soldiers who did not speak Hebrew thought He was calling out for Helios, the pagan sun god.

Layna8 I saw a documentary about this. So when this was written punctuation didn't exist at the time it was added later on. Scholars believe that it actually says
And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise"
The comma is misplaced it goes after the word today, and not before. So Jesus is assuring the tiff that very day that Someday they will both see each other again in heaven.
