Guys put some boiled linseed oil or teak oil on that sanded wood. Honestly it will make it weather proof and still look great. You only need to rub it in with a cloth, I reckon James could even do it.
You know when your potatoes were in the cupboard too long and bits started growing off them?... Just let that happen again and once theyve turn into little shoots coming off just chuck them them in a big tub of soil, ended up with loads of tatties... Like, loads! I don't know what the process is in terms of anything technical, maybe it was just luck of the draw or a fluke but it worked! Worth a go?
We have perennials (mini daffodils and sweet peas) in our baskets and we also have strawberries, blackberries and potatoes in the big patch. Strawberries and blackberries come back each year! Last year we did ok this year the patch is wild! We have 3 kids, we are both studying a degree and we both work full time so if we can grow things (other than kids!) you can too 😂 good luck guys !! 🍓
Potatoes are very easy to grow, get some seed potatoes from any garden centre, instructions will be on the pack. You can grow them in bags or big pots. The kids will love digging them up when ready. Around 15 weeks from planting.

You can grow strawberry's in all most anything once they've finished flowering you'll get runner's from them and they are free plants just put them in pot's and and when they've rooted you cut them free
Tomato plants are fairly easy to grow. Potatoes not too bad either, just make sure the soil is good and know when they're ready. You have all sorts of potatoes throughout the year.

Just a little tip for you I'm a painter and decorater use a 4 inch small medium pile roller for small jobs like what you did you'll get a better finish 😉 👍
Gardening: you do just need to get stuck in and learn from mistakes but... very important you know the basics or you'll struggle and it'll be no fun. You need to plant things in the right 'soil', right position (sun/shade), and roughly when to water. Salad, tomatoes, chilli's are a piece of p!ss if you know the basics. Strawberries in the ground are simple too. Good luck 🌿😬

Hi. I’d avoid blueberries - they’re really hard to grow unless you have acidic soil. You can grow potatoes in a sack to try that out. Saves digging deep into the garden until you’re sure you want to commit x
We grew peas last year . Sugar snap , and regular . Nothing like eating them fresh from the pod . You need to put a frame in place to grow them up . I love the sound of demon red chillies. 🌶🌶 Good luck !

I bought my Dad a veg trug for Fathers Day and he’s got all sorts in there. Potatoes, beans, carrots and radishes. It’s easy to tend because it’s standing height. You should get some lovely veg from that ☺️ x

I'm not one to grow stuff from seed so on a visit to homebase they had a pretty good selection of chili plants etc that were at least 2foot tall already established so it was nice to give some of them a try

Potatoes are very easy. Yes plant stuff together. Strawberries 🍓 easy. Chives in a pot in their own. Herbs can be mixed up in a tub or pot. Runner beans are easy. Grow in a tub up a wigwam of canes. But just so one or two things to start.
