Faye having the nickname "Grumbles" for Kratos and using "Good Boy" on him is priceless. This is exactly the type of relationship I pictured them having . Kratos as his usual grumbly self and sunshine child Faye seeing straight through the fassade. That's might be why he fell for her - she was maybe the first person in ages to not fear him. To treat him like a normal person.
I had to play the opening myself first to avoid getting spoiled, but as soon as I got a couple of hours in, I came to watch your video first. I'm loving the change we see in Kratos after having a few years to chill out and bond with Atreus. He's sharing so much more both verbally and emotionally, and the journals coming from his perspective should be fasctinating.

I hate when people talk over cutscenes non-stop but honestly don't mind when you do it. You strike the perfect balance of knowing when its ok, so I'd say to not worry too much about it and talk if you want to and when you want to.

Everyone talks about how awesome Christopher Judge's voice is (as well they should), how older Atreus sounds (the VA grew up in real life!) and how perfect Ryan Hurst is for Thor (again, as well they should) But can we save a shoutout for Danielle Bisutti, who voices Freya? She is so good in both games, but really shines in Rag. Exhibit A: 8:39 19:13 Warning - unpopular opinion. I don't like Faye's model. I get that they modeled her after her VA (Karen Page from Netflix Daredevil, Jessica from True Blood) but at the end of '18 they clearly drew her with dark hair and tanned skin. Now, I get that this is Scandinavia, but I was still disappointed to see it. Also, giving her a form took away from some of her mystique. But it would have been hard to pull off that trick for a second game in a row. All that side, though, it was very endearing to hear your emotionally charged (and delayed) "Its you!" It really showed how completely in the moment you were. 33:22 For some reason, I heard this in Johnny Depp's voice from the first Pirates movie. "But... _why_ is the tail long?" 46:32 Another unpopular opinion. '18 had Kratos being violent but not necessarily gory with the R3 kills. There were very few living enemies in that game, and even fewer humanoid ones, so ripping apart a Draugr, or even tearing a Wulver's jaw off, isn't over the top when it comes to viscera. While brutal kills were a signature of the original games, I'm glad they didn't take the blood-for-blood's-sake approach. It showed maturity, for lack of a better word. Yes, he's violent, but he isn't the way he used to be in terms of brutality. In Rag we have dismemberment and decapitations. While some look cool for the spectacle (The Traveler R3 kill immediately springs to mind), watching him take three or four whacks to sever a man's torso is something I didn't mind being gone. The kept the Wulver kill in, though, so that makes me happy. 55:05 Or he was simply male, and they didn't want to have puppies! :P 1:08:00 By my count, this is the sixth time Kratos has canonically died. At least three of those times he hauled his ass out of the underworld himself. So while certainly in character, it does take away a little bit of Kratos's making sure that Atreus must be "able to survive on his own." But damn if it doesn't play really well into the whole "they each don't know the other knows" drama. 1:09:16 One could argue he may have eventually. But Atreus digging his knife into Modi's jugular wasn't exactly helpful. This is one of at least 3 times this game took to a little bit of revisionist history, which annoys me. This may sound weird BUT Thor has got to be my favourite character. Im in LOVE with his intimidating voice! Ryan Hurst did an AMAZING job! Also, this is like my most anticipated fight/moment n im SO glad that Kratos didnt kill him off early in the game. I want to see more of them! Small she says. Kratos is 6'4" and Faye stands literally eye to eye with him. Yeah buddy you don't want the general-like Kratos. That had to have awakend some nasty ass memories for sure. Yeah you got your butt pretty handed to you. Crazy to think Atreus is only 14 and he is already that powerful. Then again god of Olympus + Giant that fought on par with Kratos and it nearly ended with both taking each other's heads off is bound to lead to a deadly combo. Also if you noticed Atreus fights on his own now swinging the bow like a sword. 57:31 Huh,you big Fought bigger. Looking at Thor's face he has nasty bags under his eyes. He looks very depressed and like he didn't get a good night sleep in a long while. He is the Kratos that never put his foot down and never stepped up to Zeus. And i feel sorry for him and how he and his sons are treated by Odin. Nothing more than attack dogs and pawns. You can tell that Thor didn't like it one bit when Odin called his sons useless. Also the norse have a rule of hospitality. If you drink what you are poured you are not allowed to attack each other. Neither Kratos nor Thor drank the mead. Hence Thor attacked. You can tell Odin is scared shitless of Kratos. He knows his reputation, what he's done, what he is capable of. And knowing that Odin is not a brute force powerhouse but approaches fights with the mind rather than physical might, and his main assets are only his manipulative,conniving,deceiving and lying nature, how cruel he is and his use of Seidr magic it wouldn't be much of a fight if Kratos really wanted to tear him to bits. Hence he came to "negotiate" and strike a deal(wich btw you know damn well he wouldn't have respected. He would have used Kratos for his own ends and stab him in the back when he got the chance). He could have pulled his Valkyries, his Enherjar army and any Aesir god willing and drop them on Kratos. So why doesn't he? Because he is actually pissing himself. He is just a weak manipualitive scoundrel who only uses his sons and grandsons to get what he wants or deal with any he deems a threat because he is too weak to do it himself. A weak,paranoid old men that tries to keep the appearance that he is "all seeing" and "all knowing" when he is anything but. After what Kratos has been told by Mimir and all the times he got screwed by the gods of Olympus especially Ares there was no way in hell he would agree. Not to mention that Freya might be his enemy now but he doesn't want any harm to come to her. The QTE is scripted. You cannot win it. And Thor just killed Kratos and revived him. Think about that for a moment. He didn't knock him out HE KILLED HIM then said "nah bitch i'm not done with you get your ass up". Kratos has some of the wildest character development. The fact he stood up for Modi? Old Kratos wouldn't have given a shit. What Thor said about "this feels familiar" won't be understood until a set of favors after the end of the game(seriously don't miss them they have heavy lore on Faye). And no he didn't say it felt familiar as a nod to him and Jormungandr clashing so hard that they splintered Yggdrasill like it was tought before. Thor really didn't give a shit about the blood debt. He only wanted to see with his own eyes if Kratos lives up to his reputation and his Ghost of Sparta/God Killer namesake. Once Kratos let out a sliver of his full power,Thor was content with it and left. They forged Leviathan for Faye. Faye was the last guardian of the Jotnar left in Midgard. She came looking for a boon to protect her people. In this they saw an opportunity to restore the balance of power. Leviathan was forged as a detterent and a weapon rivalling the might of Mjolnir. The blue ball is for opening the gates for the Realm between Realms.

To be honest, I would be glad if you talked during cutscenes as well, just to express your reactions to what your watching at the moment, I've no problem. Most people watching let's plays actually do want that from a player, first and foremost, cause otherwise they'd just watch tons of walkthroughs without commentaries. So yeah, reactions are definitely most important! Feel free to talk during cutscenes if there is something you want to share at the moment
If I ever feel REALLY strongly during a cutscene I'll definitely talk, if not I make sure to explain my thoughts afterwards. what I was more trying to explain was that I won't talk over characters because I don't want to miss any emotional or crucial moments.

Ok, so I know this playthrough is a year old, but I just found your channel anc wanted to full watch this playthrough. Similar to you, I am not the best at combat so I mainly play games for their story and emotional impact (expect for FromSoft games). 0:16 u mean u had Týr streaming down ur face?😆 Well, i shld say this was an "Epic Garbage Day"! 42:08 im not sure if u remember, but in GoW 2018 the 1st thing Atreus asked when he found out that he's a god was "can i turn into an animal?" well THERE'S the ans! This may sound weird BUT Thor has got to be my favourite character. Im in LOVE with his intimidating voice! Ryan Hurst did an AMAZING job! Also, this is like my most anticipated fight/moment n im SO glad that Kratos didnt kill him off early in the game. I want to see more of them! U did incredibly well in both the introduction fights N the fight with Thor!💪🏽 N im SO happy that i got to join u on this EPIC journey rite frm the very beginning since i cnt do that in ur GoW 2018 playthrough. Im looking forward to more enjoyable gameplay by u!☺️

I had a feeling that our initial fight would be similar to Baldurs (in the sense that no one truly "wins" and both walk away) and I'm happy to see I was correct! I'm so happy we get to experience it together this time! ☺️

Yeah you got your butt pretty handed to you. Crazy to think Atreus is only 14 and he is already that powerful. Then again god of Olympus + Giant that fought on par with Kratos and it nearly ended with both taking each other's heads off is bound to lead to a deadly combo. Also if you noticed Atreus fights on his own now swinging the bow like a sword.

Looking at Thor's face he has nasty bags under his eyes. He looks very depressed and like he didn't get a good night sleep in a long while. He is the Kratos that never put his foot down and never stepped up to Zeus. And i feel sorry for him and how he and his sons are treated by Odin. Nothing more than attack dogs and pawns. You can tell that Thor didn't like it one bit when Odin called his sons useless. Also the norse have a rule of hospitality. If you drink what you are poured you are not allowed to attack each other. Neither Kratos nor Thor drank the mead. Hence Thor attacked.
You can tell Odin is scared shitless of Kratos. He knows his reputation, what he's done, what he is capable of. And knowing that Odin is not a brute force powerhouse but approaches fights with the mind rather than physical might, and his main assets are only his manipulative,conniving,deceiving and lying nature, how cruel he is and his use of Seidr magic it wouldn't be much of a fight if Kratos really wanted to tear him to bits. Hence he came to "negotiate" and strike a deal(wich btw you know damn well he wouldn't have respected. He would have used Kratos for his own ends and stab him in the back when he got the chance). He could have pulled his Valkyries, his Enherjar army and any Aesir god willing and drop them on Kratos. So why doesn't he? Because he is actually pissing himself. He is just a weak manipualitive scoundrel who only uses his sons and grandsons to get what he wants or deal with any he deems a threat because he is too weak to do it himself. A weak,paranoid old men that tries to keep the appearance that he is "all seeing" and "all knowing" when he is anything but.
After what Kratos has been told by Mimir and all the times he got screwed by the gods of Olympus especially Ares there was no way in hell he would agree. Not to mention that Freya might be his enemy now but he doesn't want any harm to come to her.
The QTE is scripted. You cannot win it. And Thor just killed Kratos and revived him. Think about that for a moment. He didn't knock him out HE KILLED HIM then said "nah bitch i'm not done with you get your ass up".
Kratos has some of the wildest character development. The fact he stood up for Modi? Old Kratos wouldn't have given a shit.
What Thor said about "this feels familiar" won't be understood until a set of favors after the end of the game(seriously don't miss them they have heavy lore on Faye). And no he didn't say it felt familiar as a nod to him and Jormungandr clashing so hard that they splintered Yggdrasill like it was tought before.
Thor really didn't give a shit about the blood debt. He only wanted to see with his own eyes if Kratos lives up to his reputation and his Ghost of Sparta/God Killer namesake. Once Kratos let out a sliver of his full power,Thor was content with it and left.
They forged Leviathan for Faye. Faye was the last guardian of the Jotnar left in Midgard. She came looking for a boon to protect her people. In this they saw an opportunity to restore the balance of power. Leviathan was forged as a detterent and a weapon rivalling the might of Mjolnir.
The blue ball is for opening the gates for the Realm between Realms.

hey outlaw! thanks for letting me know, I had a feeling. It's been a struggle to regulate audio because I have a lower end capture card that I need to plug my headphones into (which is loud AF for me) but I guess not enough to be captured! it's super annoying..

To be honest, I would be glad if you talked during cutscenes as well, just to express your reactions to what your watching at the moment, I've no problem. Most people watching let's plays actually do want that from a player, first and foremost, cause otherwise they'd just watch tons of walkthroughs without commentaries. So yeah, reactions are definitely most important! Feel free to talk during cutscenes if there is something you want to share at the moment
If I ever feel REALLY strongly during a cutscene I'll definitely talk, if not I make sure to explain my thoughts afterwards. what I was more trying to explain was that I won't talk over characters because I don't want to miss any emotional or crucial moments.
