The whole "Loki helping Odin" thing does make a lot of sense from a Mythology standpoint since Odin and Loki were described as "Blood-Brothers" and being a team, so it fits the narrative even if some players really didn't like it.
catching up on some GoW, holy hell I got caught off guard by the swamp croc jumping out of the water! btw "plz dont i'd rather u didnt" is the nicest thing to say to crocs trying to kill you, "you big butthead."
“Today is a cosy day, its supposed to snow, I have my tea, I have my big sweater.” The vibe of your videos is immaculate it’s frosty and misty outside rn I have my tea and wrapped up in blankets watching, peak
That sweater story reminds me of how my dad was always trying to get me to buy my university uniform (we call it the traje académico, I think it includes a coat, vest, long shorts, cape and tricorn), and I just kept telling him "I'm not spending 200 euros on that, and neither will you" xD 1:31 Love that subversion, all this time you assume boat= safety and suddenly you get jumped by a couple of... dragon crocodiles? 17:13 Love these little callbacks, previous players appreciate the nods, newer players get intrigued by what he meant and seek to learn more, everyone wins 18:42 Goddamn it, what a bait and switch 😄😄Calling it now, Lunda's Orb will be to Odin like mistletoe was to Baldr, we'll throw it at his face and Helka will take care of him xD 22:34 Freya, emotionally: "This crest... it's mine" Mae's elevated gamer brain: "Oh, shit, ok... maybe I should sell that real quick" 36:19 Might be my imagination, but when Atreus wonders (out loud, like a moron) about how he could manipulate Odin, the ravens' caw after that really sounds like laughter, almost illustrating how ridiculous the notion is. Don't know if that was planned or I'm crazy lol, but it was still cool 39:24 *sigh* Alright, Atreus, storming out like that might have dumb, but you *did* saved Chaurli, so... things are even 42:16 Asgard looks great, I love any vistas with combinations of plains and mountain, plus the Bifrost in the sky? Stunning, especially after seeing it from atop the wall 45:18 Welp, something to add to my ever-growing watchlist, thanks Mae :) I'll, uhh.... watch it on Apple TV... the legit way... like I watched Severance... 51:10 The cheek on this kid, "I'm his apprentice" gahhhh xD I like seeing him interact with people his age, but he still needs a knock on the head 1:09:24 Heimdall's voice sounded familiar, after that comment I checked out the VA and I was surprised to see it was Kellen Goff! I mostly know him from anime dubs (AOT and JJBA, he was kind of a prick in both 😄) didn't know he was in so many stuff at his age 1:11:52 God, he even *fights* like an annoying prick xD 1:26:10 In mythology, her hair becomes made of literal gold threads xD Loki cuts it off as a prank, and the whole thing devolves into a competition between dwarves called Sons of Ivaldi and Brokk and Sindri(and another brother, Eitri) to find out which dwarves can give the Aesir the best gifts (this is where Thor gets Mjolnir). It was a pretty fun story in Gaiman's Norse Mythology book. 1:26:30 I think you got her when you killed her kids, Mae, but hey, that was good too. Finally the main villain of the game is revealed: impulsive teenage angst, one of fiction's most destructive forces. I think all that happened shows why Ironwood was so good in helping Atreus' character, I still want to slap him upside the head, but at least we now know he is doing all of this in order to save Kratos' life. He's an idiot teenager, but I think I feel better towards him here than when he had a similar moody period in 2018. Heimdall is suuuuch a prick.... kinda like him though xD that little monologue while they were in that elevator wasn't completely wrong, especially the "impulsive" part xD Really like how they've handled Odin's character so far. He is such a bastard, in a very different way from Heimdall. He's almost comic at times, almost charming, but every bit of what he does is aimed at manipulating Atreus: complaining about Heimdall in a commiserating way after they just fought; being so benevolent as to "forgive" Atreus from freeing Tyr; all those little interactions with the people of Asgard painting him in a positive light, like "see how good and down to earth I am, never mind that I might be brainwashing these Einherjar or that I'm having Durlín build weapons of war". Telling Atreus "I'm not your master or father", right after knowing that he and Kratos didn't part on good terms is just the right thing to say to make him be at ease, you hate to see it but you can kinda almost respect it. Really like this portrayal of Odin, before Ragnarok I saw some people talking about how he would be the new Zeus, someone to match Kratos' sheer power with Thor serving as a stand-in for Hercules, but this is much more interesting. For all his connections to war, him being an unscrupulous seeker of knowledge letting others do the dirty work is a great character direction- this feels like the guy who would trick his way into stealing the Mead of Poetry, or sacrifice his eye to drink from Mimir's well, so good on the devs for taking that path. Had a great time Mae, thanks for the video :)
wow 200 euros is wild for something like that! Lunda's orb was amazing lol I'm so happy I found it also hey they sell for 1000 hacksilver, can ya blame me? lol exactly! I was thinking about how he's spilling secrets in front of the ravens as if they aren't going to tell Odin immediately haha I love how they wrote Atreus, that youthful cockiness is spot on for that age shit I forgot I murdered her sons...big yikes I absolutely love this portrayal of Odin, everything you said is spot on with how methodical and cunning he is. He's playing Atreus like a fiddle and I'll admit that I'm pretty worried.
Oooh I was waiting for you to get to this part. While the whole argument part sucks for everyone especially Kratos, Asgard is definitely pretty cool. And yes Heimdall is such a cocky asshole. Reminds me of another character in the GOW series. I think his powers are pretty cool too. With his ability to read people and be able to predict attacks before they happen with fast he can dodge and block. But he's such a dick. Though I can't express how much I love Thor and that scene of him coming in defense of Atreus. Also Sif and Thrud's look pretty cool.I kind of like Sif's Rapunzel hair. Thanks for a great episode Mae! I can't wait for the next one with Atreus and Thor!
I'm honestly mad Thor is so cool because he's done such terrible things lol same with Heimdall, he's so fascinating but what a butthead haha thanks Heroes! (feel free to let me know your name if you're comfortable, you comment pretty regularly so I usually like to ask, I'll try my best to remember it ☺️)
@@whoismae Yeah that's the part that sucks. Thor has done such horrible things and Heimdall is such an asshole but they are both really cool. I just can't get enough of how powerful Thor is and how unique Heimdall's power. Also thank you for the last part 😊I'm fine with you still calling me Heroes (unless a new commenter comes and is also named Heroes then you could probably call me something else so it doesn't confuse you lol)
18:45 I don't know why, perhaps it was just an oversight. But Kratos's "What?" here isn't subtitled. And that makes this scene even funnier to me. 49:57 I love Skjoldr. Historically, I think he represents one of the first Danish kings we know about. But here, he has the energy of a kid who just learned a swear word so it using it all of the time.
You really know how to start an episode Mae! Almost being eaten by a two giant crocodile things is definitely an attention grabber!😁 I wasn't actually expecting to see Chaurli, so that was a nice surprise. I hadn't even considered what all the cold would do to him. Heimdall is hilarious. A gigantic prick, but hilarious. I can't wait for him to meet Kratos. Mimir, too. I'm sure they would have some interesting exchanges. I really like where the story is going now that we have a better idea of what Odin is up to and why he's interested in Atreus. The next episode should be very interesting.
haha the fact that I didn't finish that quest last time is hilarious, what a surprise 🤦♀️ I'm excited but nervous that Atreus is in Midgard, who knows what's in store!
@@whoismae IKR? It's clearly Odin Derangement Syndrome, Odin simply wants to Make Asgard Great Again and... I've gotten this vid demonitized haven't I? I'm so sorry!

haha ranting about Atreus is always okay, I was vicious with him when playing GoW 2018 😂 I am doing quite well, thanks for asking, scared to finish this game because it's so bloody fantastic!
If you press R2 when upgrading you’ll see the future stats of armors and weapons when they’re maxed out That way you’ll see which armors and handles will be the best for your play style and not waste resources Wish I’d done that with my first play through because I would have seen that the first armor set you have (survival) is one of the best when it’s set to max
Look I’m sorry, I know this is not the right time or place and I hope this is not disrespectful, but Mae’s a solid 10 out of 10 with some solid gameplays

Somewhere Sindri's saying "Now that is a waste of a perfectly good apple."
I like how Thor still has the scar on his stomach from when Kratos hit him with the axe.
Lmao Heimdall is definitely very Joffrey like, the only difference is that Heimdall actually has skills to back it up.
