Baked potatoes, cottage cheese, peanut butter sandwich, green beans , chew them real good. I eat steak, cut in it’s bitty pieces. Scrambled eggs and toast. Don’t eat popcorn, raw cabbage, celery, and other crudités ...I have done this six weeks and about to get my ilestomy reversal. I am definitely wanting to get back to some form of normalcy. Thank you for reading.

Had my ileostomy for over forty years, from the start I ate what I liked and used it as a excuse for what I didn’t like.
I was told at the start that chocolate was bad for you so I stoped eating it, now I don’t like the taste of it, also lettuce was supposed to be bad for you it sticks to your intestines I do eat it now. Don’t let it change your life live life to the full I have.

Thanks for this. I got a colostomy 6 days ago. I much prefer the solid turdlets rather that a liquidy output. I may have to give up caffeine for that reason. I wonder what other foods cause that.

I wish they would give you more information about what foods you can’t have and can before sending you home after surgery I asked and got nothing because the stoma nurse didn’t have anything on food

@@Michelle-qd9gm i eat mainly meat and potatoes id been advised white bread and starchy low fibre foods but bread has a bad effect on me, basically everything healthy will cause you some kind of discomfort whether it's wind from veg or watery constant outputs from fruit, potato and fruit skins can cause blockages as can chewy meat, i was told jelly babies and marshmallows are good for lowering your output but they had the oposite effect on me, crisps are great 🤣
