I'm a newly graduated doctor. It's generally very easy to have to do with me, I always give more love than I receive and I've often heard that I'm humble, etc. Many nurses have been cool but the amount of nurses that make a young doctor's existence a bit more shitty is significant. I wonder why? Is it an expression of frustration with the stressful workload, maybe an inferiority complex of sorts or maybe even unloading the nastiness they've suffered from senior doctors on us juniors before we learn how to hit back?
It kind of puzzles me that the place where sick people are welcomed and taken care, the f'n hospital, is so unhappy, unhealthy and inhospitable.

Try being a guy and dealing with female nurses. They do some INSANE things to male patients. I've had a couple female nurses and a couple Male nurses spill the beans on some secrets. Mostly its post surgery while the guy is under anesthesia and unconscious still. If a guy is good looking or in good shape and post surgery or if they hear from a female on the surgical team that saw him naked during surgery that he has a small or big anatomy. After surgery all patients are put in a Recovery room or Pacu room where they are monitored as a precaution. Well like I said if the guy is good looking, female nurses will come in and take turns lifting up his gown and expose him naked and laugh or mock him while he is unconscious. They get away with it because they're female. Its sexual assault actually!!! Imagine if you were unconscious post surgery and you found out that while u were under anesthesia 10 good looking male hospital employees came in and lifted up your gown leaving you COMPLETELY naked for no medical purpose and were laughing and mocking you. This is what men endure at hospitals. It's why most men avoid medical treatment. Cant blame them either, if women knew they would endure that sexual humiliation they would avoid treatment too. Men will never tell their hospital experiences to ANYONE typically, not even wives or girlfriends. But its INSANE what female nurses did to men. And sadly it will never change unless other female nurses and female medical personnel put a stop to it. So ya I'm just being honest, if you have a husband, boyfriend, son just know if they ever have surgery they will go through what I just mentioned and likely have zer recollection of it. Most dont under anesthesia and obviously female nurses know to do it right away while they are still fully unconscious. I could go on and on and on with other stories. It's more rare but female nurses in some places take pictures of the naked unconscious and share them around. Its WILD the things female nurses do to male patients. It's all hilarious to women in general.... but like I said just know it WILL happen to your husband, father, son, boyfriend too at some point.

  • @wendydemas7019

Hey Ashley great video. I am a registered nurse and I can totally relate to what your talking about. I work 3-11pm and there is a night nurse that I give report to every night . She is very rude and condescending at times. She thinks she is better than everybody else. She thinks she is the only one who knows how to do the job and everyone else is beneath. She has been reported before but the behavior still continues. She is good friends with ADON. That's why she always gets away with it. Something needs to be done. She is even rude to her night supervisor. People needs to realize that the rude behavior can have a bad effect on patient care resulting in harm to the patients. Something needs to be done and it needs to be done now.

How do I as a patient deal with pissy nurse attitudes?

  • @maria_martinez2021
    @maria_martinez2021 6 років тому +19

I had a nurse at the change of shift yell at me in front of everyone and told me to that this was not done and to hurry up because they did not have my time.
At that moment I did not know how to respond, so I notified the charge nurse.
Before the incident I felt it was accumulated anger towards me because I advocated and spoke for their patient, that needed a commode because they were not mentally stable and they were also a fall risk, unable to bare weight. That night when that actual nurse was not present in the room, it took 4 people to transfer them.
Even though that situation has passed, I still have that weird feeling when communicating with them.
I don't understand why some nurses are so nasty and if they don't like you, get their frustrations out by disrespecting you. I feel that some nurses like to boost their ego by doing it in front of everyone instead of talking about it in private.
I'm that time type of person that tries to avoid drama as much as possible with coworkers, because drama drains me out in addition to a busy shift.

  • @edelweiss5411

You make a valid point Ashley about not having those discussions in front of the patient. If I notice something like that, I put the bed alarm on, and don't say anything in the room.

I just got shouted at by the person I care fors nurse that they tried ringing me twice , i pointed out that I had rang the clinic to say id be at a place with no signal and I also sent a text. Really no need for that, its difficult being a carer we don't need shouting at for something we have no control over

Good video. I have a prior history of working with Men for 17 years I went into nursing in 2013. So now I work predominantly with women. I understand now why nurses don’t get to pay that they want and why they get stomped on by corporations and why in some cases they have a bad rap. They don’t work together quite a bit and they actually tried to stab each other in the back rather than work together. Not the case working on a construction crew with men except a very rarely

    • @gm6034

You should work in corporate and finance. Men are very ruthless towards one another. The more money one makes the more ruthless and arrogant a lot of people are. RN nurses often make 6 figures which is a higher salary than most jobs.

Right, but I am a patient looking how to deal with rude nurses. One nurse is very nice and sensible while the other could come straight out of a caricature cliche nurse cartoon; the standard, big, frightening type. So, one tells me to put on oxygen at night (during sleep) while the other (the humungous one) tells me the wear it during daytime !? On top of it, I don't want to have these little straws in my nose anyway when not necessary. And more fun, there are two different doctors. My doctor says to forget this machine while his replacement wants to keep me on it. But I have to deal with the nurses who don't seem to mention their patients during transmission. And I know, there are people who desperately need a hospital or even lack simple; yet lifesaving medication. I'm in a hospital for my wellbeing, and not to be caught up in a nurse-to-nurse fight (how sexy this may sound). I'd rather go home. Any advice ? Anyone ?
