The concept doesn't consider that the average person has a routine where nothing exciting happens. Taking that into consideration, content will become boring, monotonous and predictable I don't fancy taking the 70th picture of me sitting on a couch, eating and taking the same bus route to work. Moreover the developers must consider that unlike the early days of social Media, the average person doesn't care about uploading their life on a platform. Content Generation is left to the content creators while the rest 99% of users are spending 99% of of their time passively consuming content. Although capturing the instant moment does not require the effort of content creation on other platforms, it nonetheless Is a form of content creation that can be perfected by Users wishing to stand out and seek attention. People would still to an extent fake their photos and some people have got a more exciting routine in general. Users are no longer producers and consumers at the same time, the vast majority just want to scroll and can not be bothered to show their non exciting routine because it's meaningless. I suggest quitting social media in general, it is a massive time waster. Only show photos to your friends in real life (or dm online if you can't meet irl), those who care to see them are your actual friends.
The beginning of this comment depicts in a nutshell what social media is, a facade. People are trying so hard to project to others how fake and empty their lives are.😢
I’m real. And guess what? I don’t need to prove that to anybody. You’ll never know me either. And guess what? I don’t care. If you did get to know me, you might or might not like me. And guess what? I don’t care. Have a nice day though.
why does everyone NEED to know everything im doing when im doing it, why do i have to post EVERYTHING on social media. im a teenager, all my peers use these stupid apps, and i dont get it
This will make us even closer to the described by the book 1984 by George Orson Orwell when everybody has to report and get connected while at the same time is being watched by The Big Brother who "ain't heavy" as told by the song sung by .......... I wonder if there any other is seeing this happening.
If you're like me, you love the idea of an app that encourages you to be true to yourself and embrace your quirks. I mean, who doesn't want that? But as much as I love BeReal, it's still focused on appearances. It's not really encouraging the kind of authenticity that we should be embracing-like our thoughts and ideas and the views for the world. That's where Voco comes in. Not only is it an app, but it's a movement! It encourages people to speak their minds and be themselves in a judgement-free space.
And there are still people out there that really cannot be arsed to share their daily activities or wish to know that of other people, so IG/Snapchat/BeReal/whatever comes next don't affect them at all.
If you are "being real" you are living your life without a phone constantly with you. How about an app that tells you to ditch your phone and go do an activity outside without it. That would be more real than this.
I am developing such an app. Am done designing it and have a figma prototype ready, am to start coding it. Am doing it solo since most of my engineer friends dont like an app that will compete with the big fish...but even if i have to do it alone am building it. At this point i have invested my mind time and heart to it not to see it through.Hopefully it makes a difference.
It was the first things that came in mind when my friends from work told me to get this app. I wont tho I will be real and keep my phone clean from social media apps.. it just stresses me out..
@@aastikahuja5573 I guess it shouldn't be but it happened very rapidly. Suddenly all of my friends had an account and were taking reals. I wasn't expecting it to be so well accepted in my circles
@how it happened At 1:59 you mentioned that Xavier Niel’s son was using that app. Could you please share the source where you have that information with Xavier Niels son? This would be extremely helpful!
I got an email from my school saying 'do not download this app. It is called BeReal and it is designed to take photos of you from both of your cameras and if you install it it will track your location' DONT ISNTALL IT
So this app is just the same old same old but anyone that chooses this app over the others are basically saying "Hey I'm not faking anything. This is the reality." I'm all for erasing that "my life is perfect and yours is not" narrative from social media but this seems pointless lol
What a boring idea. If kids and teenagers are enjoying this then I honestly don’t understand it. Also don’t understand why you and all your friends would want to download and add each other on another social media app for a very similar experience to Instagram or Snapchat. Pointless app honestly
15 seconds into this video and you already lost me. tiktok videos are far from perfect. instagram is the place where people care about high quality lighting and cinematography and art.
Well the app is also to let others know if ur real or fake sinse there so many ppl outhere pretending to be girls when there guys😂 and also the app is also to take 2 photos the good rhing is that u cant edit
Yeah, its currently gaining a lot of popularity. Ima try it out but I will only share with my friends. Maybe it can replace Snapchat for me (which is also full of annoying somewhat ads), where I can still see what my friends are up to but it doesnt get into my privacy too much. Also keep in mind to set the location stuff to ask for permission everytime so you can reject or accept it with every photo you take - wether you want to share your location or not. Its also rather transparent in the EULA how, why, why they are allowed and how you can disallow them and how much data BeReal collects and you know its being processed in a rather free country (France). But still assume that everything you post is public and could be used against you somehow - so still be careful what you share. Watch out what permissions you grant within your system and dont grant any more than needed - after adding all your friends via your contact list, you can also revoke the contact access again btw. - Your friends (ultimately BeReal) dont need to know your exact location every day either. Its a fun concept but not nearly as shady as Instagram or Snapchat. Also dont use your real birth date or name. Use a Nick name and maybe alter at least the year of birth at registration. Its bad enough they already got your phone number. Also watch out to NEVER add your boss or so. Usually nobody does that but some people do that and its dumb. If you are ever sick you will have to post from your bed everytime. For real - never add your boss or even colleagues. You can add them on Insta but BeReal would be too close.
Are we that disconnected to the point where we need so much proof to be considered “real”
Insta & most social media is fake. Filters upon filters
@@AlphaCentauri24 thats the thing i could never understand whats so fake? Why look up to those people online? Why fall for it?
It’s sad when you come to think of it
Basically yes

Very true! Last paragraph is the real deal. 👍🏻
Left Instagram. It’s been so great for me. I grew up on it since it’s release. I’m free now

This app is about to break up so many “friendships” 💀

Literally a bot lmao
There's no such thing as a "judgement free space." It's all data for algorithms that want to target you with ads.
I think this app is going to be a perfect anti-instagram, if you post a photo that looks good then you are not real so BeREAL haha😂😂
And there are still people out there that really cannot be arsed to share their daily activities or wish to know that of other people, so IG/Snapchat/BeReal/whatever comes next don't affect them at all.
A resounding NO. Always wanna know where people are. This is nuts!!!
Saw a notification on my daughters phone and wondered...what is be real? Im glad i took her phone off her so she would tidy her bloody room!
“Gen z” bro i never heard of this app lmaoo

Free metadata for the company with 2 cameras in every push notification; and rising depression levels when you have a shit life every fucking day.
Quick question! When you add someone, can they see your past posts?
Better than ig at this point
Beme (2014-2018) by Casey Neistat had the same concept like BeReal and was too ahead of their time.

Surprisingly gaining a lot of popularity in Sweden

can you increase your videos duration l like you uploads but they are too short
That's Snapchats point to be big real🙂?
kinda similar to BeMe by casey neistat
