    Hi Florence, I am knitting for the first time your pattern jumper with your video help and I am just so happy! I've already done some mistakes along the way but I am not overly upset of them. Is my absolutely first jumper and I now that that would eventually happen. I loved all your projects that you just shown. Your sisters jumper color is fab! Please keep doing more videos! Love to watch them while I knit is almost as having a friend as no one around me likes knitting and they call me nuts for spending most of my time around this 🥰

    I wanted to tell you that I really enjoy your videos. You always have so much to show us. About the hat Vs headband thing with your pony tail. If you knit a hat with a hole for your pony tail to pop through, you’d have no lumps. Also a note to viewers. If you’re struggling with Florence’s fast speech pattern go up to settings and change the playback speed to .75 and then it is a normal speed rate. Florence you may want to tell your viewers this, for those who complain about it! 😊 Happy New Year. I look forward to your next video. Oh, and your dress looks beautiful. Something I could never wear. I really love the sweater you have on as well. Gorgeous color. I can see why it is so popular.

    Would also love the dress pattern one day! Can absolutely relate with having to wear a XS top and M bottoms too so hope the finished pattern (if you do one) will reflect that 🤞🏽 although the dress looks great on you as is 😊

    Your dress is stunning. I also love the mitts you designed, I'd love the pattern! I got an accent from Fuzzy Goat and Emma's Yarns we're in it.. They are stunning and the names are so original

    Gorgeous dress! I just worked up the Beauty School turtleneck from Poison Grrls and really liked it! I modded it to be in DK instead of the pattern’s fingering, so I can’t say I completely worked it to pattern, but I’ve been wearing it most days since I finished it!

    I love all the beautiful colors you made things with. Sadly, few of those look good on me because I am not as light complected as you are. I'm thinking that if I like those colors (the ones that arent ideal for me), I should just make socks! :) Problem solved, I still get to enjoy wearing those light colors.

    Happy New Year! Dress is beautiful! If you want to try a wool sock yarn without nylon you can try one with mohair - it will add strength. Fleece & Harmony in Canada makes Point Prim Sock that is 80/20 wool/mohair vs wool/nylon. It's kind of sport weight, but I've knit it like it is fingering weight.

    Dear Florence, how do you actually finish these lovely garments? I am SO stuck on the finishing part. There are 2 pullovers on the coffee table just waiting to be pressed and sewn. And, 18 more items carefully folded up and stored. Is this some psychological issue? Anyone else? My husband is teasing me about "having a go at this sewing up business" as a way to motivate me to do it before he ruins them. Good thing he is the same size for the past 35 years.

      well, first of all I don’t really seam anything! all my garments are seamless so as soon as I finish knitting they’re basically done. also I get so excited about wearing them I always speed through the last bit so I get to put them to use :) I always choose patterns i’m super excited about wearing or using

    With the beret you could try adding elastic thread to the base? I did that with one I made recently and it worked a treat.

    • @handmadebyflorence
      @handmadebyflorence  Рік тому

      I think I want to decrease the overall size (diameter) of the hat a little!! but if it doesn’t stay in place i’ll definitely add some elastic, thanks for the suggestion :)

  • @Ali-yo6vl
    @Ali-yo6vl Рік тому

    How do you knit all sock patterns using a 2.25 mm needle? How do you find the correct gauge with every pattern when working with different yarns? I made my first sock recently using the same needles and while I loved working on them, the sock came out baggy in certain parts. I'd love to make all of my socks using one needle, I just need to figure out how that would work.

    • @handmadebyflorence
      @handmadebyflorence  Рік тому +2

      I know the approximate number of stitches I like and then I choose the size closest to that number of stitches rather than using my measurements! it isn’t so reliable for stitch patterns which change the gauge a lot but not too far off mostly

    I heard a joke on TikTok that engineering is a soft, girly hobby and that yarn arts are for the Comp Sci girlies. But you still give off pre-med vibes to me. Like you could absolutely kill it in an Org Chem class.
