A VERY vocal Snowy Owl

I spent some time today watching this gorgeous female snowy owl upon her pole. I LOVE hearing their call of the wild (in this case it was a territorial call as there are a few near by snowies that I could not see with my lens but she could) I wanted to share what this beautiful juvenile female snowy owl's sounds were like ♥

It's easy to forget that not all owls hoot. The vocalizations of snowy owls, and also barn owls, sound more like a red-tailed hawk than anything one might expect from an owl.

We only see them in my part of the country (midwest) in the winter, but whenever I see them, it's a real treat.
They're quite possibly the handsomest of all owls, which is really saying something considering jut how beautiful Screech and Great Horned owls are.
