Could Lars and Sadie's happy ending being apart? By getting over each other they become better people. Remember Lars and Sadie were both horrible to each other. Lars lying to skip out of work vs. Sadie delibritely reapping Lars on an island. Lars has found the acceptance he needs with the Off Colors and not with the Cool Kids. While Sadie has finally gotten out of her shell.
You can't always get what you want but maybe you can get what you need.
Claire Mercer I partially agree. I think Rebecca's decision to work on the development of each character separately was clever. Like you said, they were terrible to each other. But the relationship between them was terrible because they themselves had flaws. Individual problems that have nothing to do with one another.
What I want to say is that the individual problems that each had interfered in their relationship to the point it was insufferable. That is, the problem isnt Sadie and Lars together. The problems are Sadie and Lars.
So as Rebecca is already developing these characters and making them better, maybe when they meet again Sadie and Lars can form a truly healthy relationship.
Of course, if they stayed as friends, I would be surprised but not disappointed.

Great video. I'm not sure Lars cares as much for being popular anymore. He has gems in his charge that look to him for guidance. I think he will publicly pursue Sadey and she would see it as him doing it for popularity at first, but it won't take long to realize that he has grown.

I think that when you watch the show, and at points can forget the young ages of the characters, it’s grounding, silly, wholesome and kind of dorky teenage moments like this that make me chuckle and shake my head 😭😂
I'm sure this 'lars of the stars' is just a persona lars has gotten. He has nothing to be afraid of because the world won't judge him and the off colours know what it's like to be judged so he knows they wouldn't care if he shows his weak side so he just acts confident because now he has a chance to change his image to other people. Once he gets back to earth though, he might crack under pressure. Could get anxious about his new look, his new crew and the fact that he got stuck in space because he hid like a "wuss". He could return back to old self for a second but then learn to be more confident again with all this new boost

I don't think Lars would still care about popular and it's already reviled that he loved her but he was always too scared plus insacure. So though I don't think it's going to happen (esspesialli with that Lars fonding over Sadie just because she's popular) and I can't said I like it either, I respect that you made an effort to do this theory ^^ .

I disagree, I do think that Lars will be pining over Sadie, but I don’t think he’ll be pining for her for being a ‘cool kid’. I think after all he’s been through like going to space, meeting off-colors, LITERALLY DYING he’ll realize he loves Sadie.
They did have something in the past, remember the episode with “video games”
I personally think that a large part of Steven Universe is not only about his gem-ness and homeworld, but also growing up in a human world. He is half human after all. He’s learning how to grow, both as a gem and as a person.
Idk I just always really liked Lars. Yes he often was a dick but when Sadie and Lars were together they really appreciated each other.
I used to like those two together, but since it was hinted in the show that Sadie is older than Lars and is pretty much an adult (since she apparently had her prom few years ago), I no longer consider it a healthy relationship and I am somewhat glad they separated them.
I always loved Lars more, because he was ACTUALLY relatable. He was a normal, anxious teenager, unnecessarily demonized by Crewniverse to make emotional and problematic young people seem like assholes, for some reason. And I'm glad they gave him such a huge arc and personal development, but I wish they didn't have to literally kill him and leave him stranded in space for that. Then, again, demonizing him for being upset, that his close friend - Sadie, quickly moved on and started a band with the specific group he's been trying to impress all these years.
Don't get me wrong - Sadie is a cool character and deserves her happiness too. But the way they covered her flaws and mistakes for the sake of making Lars look like a dick, is seriously upsetting. Remember "Island Adventure"? When Sadie literally forced them to be stuck on a deserted island without Lars' consent? And as soon as he found out and yelled at her like any other normal person would do, the show tried to make her look like a poor, innocent baby? Just so Lars could be "this ungrateful asshole" again?
Or in "Joking Victim"? When Lars was just slacking off like any young person? And in return he was almost killed by Steven and Sadie? But hey! That's just a prank, bro!
tl;dr I am actually glad Lars and Sadie are separated now. And I'm glad Lars gets to finally prove himself useful to both humans and Gems, while Sadie just... follows her dream of being a musician.
I think they do better by themselves... But I would love to see them together and hanging out. Even if they don't end up together, I would love to see an improved non-toxic friendship

Sadly or not, I can't agree. I will kill for Lars to come back and realize that Earth life is boring and that he wants space adventures, as well as that he won't be able to age with anyone on Earth, leading him to leave it to keep being pirate. This will be amazing for his character and also will ultimately link him to Captain Harlock.
some of this was debunked in the last episodes of season 5 though, wasn't it? When Steven and Connie visited him at the ship and talked about Sadie's new found success, he eventually showed he was happy for her (and ultimately regretted how he always put himself before her). They care about each other on an emotional level, and being a part made them not only realise that, but it allowed them to take themselves into account as well (Sadie should not live for Lars, and Lars has to realise she does not live for him).
That being said, I doubt the war on earth will happen as Steven will have to deal with this alone. Lars is somewhere in space, and humans won't be involved, I think

You know... I think no matter how twisted it was. Their relationship is still one of my favourites and WILL live on with us and future generation of SU fandom.
But SUF just gave us Shep. And I would support it if this new "partner" Sadie was not one solid stereotype. It's a shame these two just broke up, like they haven't known each other their whole lives :/

Lars and Sadie were my favorite characters, the only thing that sort of bugs me is that Sadie is a steriotype and I've seen so many girls like her. Short, overweight, unnatractive which would make sense as to why she's so easily taken advantage of by Lars and why Sadie would do anything for Lars because most guys wouldn't exactly go for Sadie, had she been hott the plot between the two would make very little sense. But then Sadie end up with a unidentified gender individual, this is very typical, you'll usually see unnatractive socially awkward girls like Sadie go for the extreme minorities such as Shep. Lars to me is a jerk, it's hinted that the two slept together and Lars probably smashes Sadie whenever they hang in private just to let off a load which u can make out when Sadie tells him "You're so different with me when we're in private", yeah... I and so many other men have heard that before from girl like well... Sadie. It's kind of sad, cus while I can't really relate to Lars so much, Sadie is a familiar character, not relatable by any means but she is so dang familiar I guess that's why I like the two of em'. They're definitely the most realistic characters out of the entire series cast.

i was gonna get upset when it said about them being better alone but i watched it all amd it makes more sense, i feel like being alone will make them better when they finally reunite. I dont think that Lars will actuallycare as much about the cool kids but at the same time, Sadie will think that and be upset about it. From there i think their relationship will grow and Sadie will realise that Lars actually loves her for her and not for her fame.

I have a reason to say that Lars will actually like Sadie becuase of her newfound "popularity," that is a really serious misjudgment.
I think that, since Lars has been away from her for a long time, he came to appreciate her, and eventually, love her.

Not gonna lie seeing that episode with Sadie and Lars in S.U.F made me cryyyyy.
Idk I think Sadie is definetly going to finally step up to the past jerk that he was, and tell her just how much he's just been hurting her, he's too self centred and showy when he has people around that will either be under his control like the gems or being at least the underdog of the cool kids. But who knows maybe their relationship won't work out but maybe they will fight in space for the protection of earth.

We know that she has some sort of ability as she defeated a corrupted gem, if pearl (or anyone else because I am already seeing they 'll make an episode explaining what happened in beach city while Steven and the gems were at homeworld) trained her I am sure that she would be a GREAT fighter!!

I don't think they are going to be that important at all , their development was good but in no way do I think they could help with the diamonds. After millennia of thinking they are superior, and they really are, I don't believe one basically human couple could unite Earth and Home world.
Steven will already have his work cut out for him trying to get WD on his side as she sees him as PD and cares not about him opinion. WD would not let any relations between Earth and Home world happen as,if she treats her fellow diamonds like regular gems then,I don't she'd allow two nearly fully humans have any sort of influence and she could enforce it as, everyone on Home world send terrified of her.
In conclusion even though Lars and Sadie are important in their own rights I find it far fetched to put them on Steven level if importance as it'd take them to actually date to do so, something I think they both are fine with out.
Sorry for this long paragraph I just wanted to put what I think.
How do you know. Just be quiet and wait until what Rebecca Sugar has in store for the future shows.

I think Lars and Sadie have grown more than that. I think Lars will want to be with Sadie more because he missed her and realized how much he loves her while he was gone, not for his public image. But Sadie will still have some complicated feelings about how Lars reacted when she was being attacked by the Topaz. I don’t think Lars gives as much of a shit about the cool kids anymore, he’s a fucking space pirate now. And Sadie’s a rock star. They’re different and their feelings are complicated because of how they feel about each other, less about other people.

Actually I'm not sure if this theory is going to happen (but I'm not saying it's a bad theory) you see, there's kind of a theory that Lars is a parallel to Rose/Pink Diamond. Like: Sadie loves Lars like Pearl loves Rose/Pink but instead Rose/Pink winds up with Greg, and Lars ends up with EMERALD?! I know the gem he's fighting, will turn out to be his lover, no joke, just search up Lars x Emerald and boom. I think AwstruckVox made a theory on this on CrystalClear on the Roundtable, I don't remember, but it is a good theory all the facts are there.

Nah, the crystal gems as diamonds is canon because all their relationships are the same. Garnet = white the leader. pearl = blue the one who openly mourns her loss. Amethyst = yellow diamond. She hides her grief but lashes out as a result of that. Rose = pink diamond because they are literally the same person lol

I think Lars changed, he won't go back and like her because she's popular. He has obviously become more empathetic over time and realised his feelings for Sadie. And Sadia doing all this was to distract herself from missing Lars. Now she is happy with what she has achieved and it's not just about Lars but Sadie still cares as Lars is realising he cares for her too. I think the reunion will happen immediately.
Now that's just an opinion and an educated guess. I could be wrong do tell me if you think differently
