Yes that’s exactly what I’ve been thinking, like in the venom movie you see him being slimy which is how he was originally like so I really how it looks
I agree with how this should be the standard of quality control for hasbro because they have shown that they can do clean paint applications, and when something simple is not clean, it does not make sense
What's more impressive about this figure is that the sculpt actually rivals the Marvel Select Carnage. I NEVER in a million years would have thought Hasbro could pull off sculpt to that level, giving us clean paint and exceptional articulation to boot.
Hey Anthony, I just want to say how good your new rival clan action figure line looks . I’ve always struggled finding a line which has stood out among the rest in being passionate and consistently excellent. Now that I know someone as passionate and knowledgeable as you is making figures, I think I’ve just found my perfect line. I wish all the best to you in the development and production of your figures. Keep up the fantastic work!
As a character; Classic Eddie Brock Venom. As a design...Depends on the artist, but I lean more towards Carnage since his design is 100% unique to him.
6:21 I have to agree with you, if a figure doesn't have a good a aesthetic, it is already hard to like the figure, though the only reason i can't bring myself to like this figure is because of his stupid right claw hand. Also for question of the day i prefer Venom just cause i think that the big muscular villains are more menacing Edit: being honest, i kinda got used to the right claw, i just i wish it was just like left one
@@AnthonysCustoms yeah I like how mafex and 1000 toys (especially on the synthetic human) do their butterfly joints. They allow the 360 rotation like an actual shoulder girdle. That’s how butterfly joints should always be done. I’m not a huge fan of the marvel legends style butterfly joints with just a back and forth motion but something is better than nothing.
Agree with all you said about its sculpt and look. But I find it really hard to replace him in my Spidey collection. Most of the figures so far had that classic comic look and the only thing about this guy that fits for me is his head. I call this guy the Clayton Clain Carnage.
2021 marvel legends retro spiderman figs to release if hasbro wants our money: Black suit spidey on retro mold, Updated comic/animated venom on movie venom buck, Updated spider carnage
Shocks me that all the mcu figures have so much detail and paint but when they do comic figures and have to add simple paint they can't do a simple wash on characters that need it. Atleast their giving more detail now I guess
I like this wave a lot, the last couple of ML waves I haven't been able to say that (i'm not crazy about Deadpool so his "fun" figures are lost on me) but I really don't like the Venompool figure. Great looking figure (I haven't been able to pick any of these guys up yet) but I really wish the BAF had been "Absolute Carnage," the creepy skeletal Carnage with extra weapon hands that also fit this Carnage. This guy needs some "armoury" options.
got them for the Venompool, though, I was like, another Carnage? & I don't need venomized Gwen & Miles....but yeah its a well made wave, figuratively (pun intended).
@@sethmonster6529 not all,if he did so,he wouldn't have reviewed the Amazon exclusive Wolveine. Plus he also mentioned that the jacketed wolverine looks better than the wife-beeter version,so he might review that one as well.
This figure looks really cool. Also the axe from the previous Marvel Legends Carnage is perfect for this. Also to this day this is my favorite Marvel Legends Wave so don't attack me people if you reply to me.
This figure is really cool. A big improvement over the last. When it comes to Venom VS CArnag; I have to go with Venom. I love the villain to hero characters. Seeing Venom's journey to becoming the Lethal Protector was really fun.
Love this figure, specially with all the sculpting on is very good if I didn't have the select one I would jump in to this guy but I do want all this wave so I may get him lol. As always good review thumos up.
Carnage! Venom was cool in the very beginning but he got too popular and the neutered him for perpetuity. Also wanted to comment that people always seem to get their opinions and preferences mixed up with objective quality and that i wish people would stop and check what was actually stated before responding to statements.
Anthony, I would say classic Mcfarlane venom. Though this whole wave especially Venom and Carnage are fantastic. Phage is next. The baf is one of my favorites also. Be Well.
Carnage over Venom any day, the Symbiotes or Klyntar are my favorite concept done by Marvel and of them all, Carnage is my favorite. I've always leaned towards heros however Carnage is my outlier of favorite characters, I genuinely enjoy how unpredictable and chaotic the characters is!
If I had to pick, I'd choose Venom over Carnage. However, they're both top tier Marvel characters. Also, only an 8/10? I would've thought you'd give it more of a bump because of the aesthetic. You almost never give 10's for anything, much less Legends, so saying Carnage has a 10/10 for the aesthetic is saying a lot. Thought that would've been enough to give it a 9 overall, but it's your review so you can do what you want.
@@AnthonysCustoms Should've been given some repainted carnage weapons but maybe it wouldve downgraded the one that had those weapons. Still a great release from Hasbro.
Appreciate the review. The articulation is mediocre as of 2022, but the very high marks you gave for the aesthetics have convinced me to give it a shot. Hope mine turns out well. Edit: Got mine. You were absolutely right. It looks very, very nice.
Rival is a b@llsy-@ss name. I see it as a middle finger to the complacent big boys with waning innovation & inconsistent quality control. I FREAKIN' LOVE IT!!!
I don’t mind the glossy look. I’ve always thought that the symbiote characters were always supposed to have a bit of a slimy wet appearance.
Yes that’s exactly what I’ve been thinking, like in the venom movie you see him being slimy which is how he was originally like so I really how it looks

Venom, easy. He's been my favorite marvel character for a long time.
I hope they do a absolute carnage baf. Hes alot bigger and looks more Skeletal
I feel like this might have been a movie carnage but then the venom 2 was delayed
possibly
Nah uh, this is from the comics
Mafex does great with butterfly joints. Maybe other toy companies need to adopt their system.

Lethal Protector Venom? Ah a man of culture I see.
The Lethal Protector days of Venom is always going to be my favorite Spider-man villain/anti-hero
I like venom. This is the effort you love to see. When they put in the work, which unfortunately isn't often, it really shows.
I love Venom, but I prefer Carnage. Both, as a character, and in terms of aesthetics, I've always really liked carnage.
I like both Venom and Carnage.
I wish they wish they would go back and do the other Symbiotes in this style. I'm not a fan of the flat painted on look.
