Broo oh my godd 😭 I was sitting in the lab for like 6 hours going crazy thinking this shit was a fucking one frame link or something. Someone pin this comment.
Props for using a track we can't listen to officially on their list anymore. Seriously namco bring this one and AS BALD AS back, damnit Always been wanting to figure out Yoshimitsu, thank you! With his tools from Soul Calibur added, never been a better time to learn his stuff
Instant of d+2,2 at the end, d+2,1 and b+2,1 are 1 more damage And then there is launch > dash -> flash -> d+2,2~B -> df+1,2,1, T! -> dash -> b+1 -> ff2:2 --> f+1+2 For d/f+2 it is 64 + 23 (f+1+2 is guaranteed) = 87 damage
@@Sdesser With b+1 the f+1+2 is guaranteed becouse of the NSS You an do flash instant of b+1, but then the f+1+2 is a oki It is possible 5 more damage but oki, vs guaranteed 87 damage In heat the flash route is guaranteed and it is even possible the get a relaunch after the f+1+2
@@herroxxxxx I just hold it into the direction i want to go and then time the 1+2 input So when i was on the left site, after the f+2:2 i'm on the right site and hold left, he turns around, then 1+2 while still holding left The hard part is the timing, there are like only 2 frames where it connects... So frames from :2, neutral, left/right, should be together like 92/93 frames for it to hit (so is it for me)
Amazing, amazing video. Really nice. Noticed that at each step of the combo you would put a little visual indicator to show what inputs are being pressed so new people like me would keep track. 10/10
Yoshimitsu is my favorite fighting game character of all time, his fighting style to me as a kid was so awesome, it took me 6-8 months of practice to get really good with him, but once I did I hardly ever lost to anyone in my friend group of about 12 people.
I love how hard the rage art scales after the wall breaks it’s funny they really tried to remove any form of a tod from this game didn’t want a repeat of geese stage lol
ive comment before, ive been maining yoshi for a while, and looking at these combos now, im still stun on how much combo set up he has, its like a buffet of combos, i didn't even use his side step combos at all yet i feel like i knew i wasn't peaking yet, even tho im battle ruler or something that's the last purple rank before blue.
I like how every video for a character has me sitting there like a goofball wondering why a combo doesn’t work and it’s always something to with the characters back input or something. I was puzzled on how to put his sword back mid combo, same thing happened with Hwoarang and Bryan lmao
You gotta run, and stop then 1+4. If it’s not doing damage, the reason why is because you have to sheath the the sword. It doesn’t say; cuz I’ve been having a lot of troubles too, but during his combos you can notice that at some point you hear a noise and you notice him put his sword into its sheath. To do that you hold back after a certain combo, then he puts it away automatically. Then you can do damage when you 1+4. Ex ( When you D2 2, then you hold back the instant it’s done, he puts sword in sheath, and then you run up and stop. Then you do 1+4.
On the second combo, on the fourth move set, my Yoshi does not put his sword away, causing the enemies tailspin to be further rather than higher, ruining the combo. Any help?
If you are talking about at 00:16 he forgot to put in the back input for putting away your swords during the 3rd part of the combo. Follow the first combo where it is Down 2,2 back and it should work fine.
How does one train these combos? I cant seem to finish these combos properly. Im having problems with those inputs requiring a dash and another directional input. Any tips?
What specifically about the dash is confusing you? If it's the timing, then I suggest you break down the combo into segments and get each segment down confidently. Dashing to inputs is much more forgiving in this game than 7 so technically speaking, it should be the easiest thing to do. One other thing that I've noticed is that when you flash after a tornado, you need to let the legs drop down a bit. Experiment with how quickly you flash and find that sweet spot.
@@apexflocka3026I imagine he's having trouble with combo 2 where you have to dash and then flash an airborne opponent. The guide fails to mention that you have to sheathe your sword before the second flash.
Chip damage. When you start doing more hits in your combo, scaling kicks in and you start to deal chip damage (also called recoverable health) as well as less upfront damage. This is why optimised combos are a big deal as they deal as much health as possible while generating as little chip damage as possible, because chip damage is recovered as health when you attack in Tekken 8. If you end a combo with a Rage Art, you can ignore any chip damage they've got as successful Rage Arts will eliminate all chip damage
For some reason there are some combos that says 80 for him, but 79 for me. I was wondering if Yoshimetsu got nerfed a bit? Or is it just me. Edit: And I’ve noticed it’s every time he does neutral 1+4. His does 1 damage above mine… strange.
@@somethinggood8272 thank you so much for the confirmation! So does this mean instead of using flash towards the end of combos, I can use 3,2 1+2 as a replacement for extra damage?
@brandon_4902 for no wall combo if you lab it out you'll find that the damage is nearly the same between each ender, the flash into d2,2 or ff2,2 leaves you closer to your opponents knockdown for continued pressure however
Why should flash not work anymore? launch -> flash is working flash after tornado is working too, it just need to be the NSS flash So you need... launch -> d+2,2~B for it
They changed it in Tekken 8 so that it no longer launches when in sword stance. While sword is out: - it's a 6 frame mid 25 damage that is -15 on block (launchable if opponent is buffering a 15 frame launcher while blocking) - has really short range (you need to be as close as possible or wait for opponent to use a move that moves them into you while you block) - forces opponent into -14 if they're hit, so you get a guaranteed b2-2 heat engage. - in combos it can typically be used at the start after a dash up. In NSS (no sword stance): - it's an 8 frame launcher 28 damage, -15 on block - slightly increased range. - absorbs life on hit. - in combo spirals the enemy for extensions like heat bound, dash up f3+4, dash up ff2 * 2, dash up d2,1, dash up b2,1. So basically you want to be in NSS a lot and look for ways to get into it like ws4~b and d2,2~b.
Yoshi's voice is just awesome in this game. Great combos definitely will try some of these out.
That last combo was cracked af
There is a small error on the second combo, (For DF2) after D22 you forgot to add the Hold back motion on the screen

also same error for afew other combos, gotta hold back to NSS to flash properly
you usually need to reallign yourself after df1,2,1 for nss 1+4 into d,2,2 to hit. so its usually like this (starter) - df1,2,1 - ssr 1+4 - d,2,2

us the last combo not possible anymore? After the last flash there is no time or space for heat smash it does not connect?
There is a move when yoshi is stuck in corner, he backflips and evades to the other side. How can i do this on ps5 controller??

Can you do an updated Feng and Lars combo guide?
How do you display those combo inputs inside the game? Can you customize the sample combos? How?

D2,2 then hold back to go into NSS
@sneakyfatcat thanks dude. This opened me up for so much more combo options
Flash doesn’t work anymore during combo may you recorded this before update
I think it's because he forgot to mention to hold back after 2,4 in manji stance. It will put you in NSS and extend flash range.
Why should flash not work anymore?
launch -> flash is working
flash after tornado is working too, it just need to be the NSS flash
So you need... launch -> d+2,2~B for it
the last hit (2+3) dosn't hit the enemy
how come in the second combo with the flash its not connecting ?
If you still don’t know hold back after the d22
Can someone explain why yoshimitsu has two different versions of flash?
They changed it in Tekken 8 so that it no longer launches when in sword stance.
While sword is out:
- it's a 6 frame mid 25 damage that is -15 on block (launchable if opponent is buffering a 15 frame launcher while blocking)
- has really short range (you need to be as close as possible or wait for opponent to use a move that moves them into you while you block)
- forces opponent into -14 if they're hit, so you get a guaranteed b2-2 heat engage.
- in combos it can typically be used at the start after a dash up.
In NSS (no sword stance):
- it's an 8 frame launcher 28 damage, -15 on block
- slightly increased range.
- absorbs life on hit.
- in combo spirals the enemy for extensions like heat bound, dash up f3+4, dash up ff2 * 2, dash up d2,1, dash up b2,1.
So basically you want to be in NSS a lot and look for ways to get into it like ws4~b and d2,2~b.
is this before or after update??
