I know that you are saying that the civil disobedience is necessary because you feel no one has given enough credit to the intellectual arguments in the first place. I am 100% a supporter of peaceful protest, it might not get as much attention as other forms of protest, but I believe more respect is earned if you can be peaceful and more people are likely to listen to your thoughts on the issue you are protesting. My problem with civil disobedience in general is that it is often disrupting and harming your average joe more than it is the state. And in the end, I believe your average joe just like you or me is the most important person in this equation. Because you can upset the state all you want, but if they don't have legislators that are on your side of the issue it will never matter. So I believe the number 1 priority needs to be convincing people and then getting the necessary legislators elected.

Background info: The dude who threw the banner and phone is actually a nurse for the nearby hospital and was distraught when he noticed people being backed up on the main road. His excuse was that there was apparently emergency vehicles stuck in that same traffic jam and he wanted the protesting to end. Theres another POV of this clip, and im pretty sure its from the girls phone that he threw.
This is that kind of situation that, it is okay to protest. But it should not be at the expense of innocent civilians, ambulances who have to go to an emergency, or people who are late for work and can be fired as a result. And with these kinds of protests, you don't get people to understand you either. In fact, I think people will hate you even more if you block their ways like that. Well, protesters often have a bit more free time than a busy worker.

@@djkidna I've never seen a picture of a civil rights march where the protestors were deliberately trying to disrupt traffic. In fact I've seen pictures where they purposefully march to one side of traffic so that they are raising awareness without blocking people's movement. Those marches you see are usually approved in advance and the roads shut down. What you see in this video is not a case of that, there aren't nearly enough protestors to need the entire street they could march down the pavement if they wanted to. Instead they are maliciously attempting to block people's movement using only 10 people, it's ridiculous.

In fact I've seen pictures where they purposefully march to one side of traffic so that they are raising awareness without blocking people's movement. Those marches you see are usually approved in advance and the roads shut down. What you see in this video is not a case of that, there aren't nearly enough protestors to need the entire street they could march down the pavement if they wanted to. Instead they are maliciously attempting to block people's movement using only 10 people, it's ridiculous.

They don't want us to be allowed to learn the science ourselves because then we wouldn't be able to learn that gas and oil isn't as bad for the environment as they want you to believe. Low quality disposable plastics are worse for the environment than a gas burning car. We can do less with that shit. Way too much cheap plastic going into products that don't seem to be going down im cost at all with those savings.
