Yes Michael, I'm sooooooo glad to see you, I was worried that illness may have knocked on your door. I used an almost identical box for my first build, bit smaller, the resonance is fantastic and was very easy to work with, they take varnish or paint really well and are available in their hundreds. It's difficult to find a nice big cigar box over here and if I'm honest I prefer to do my own thing. I have a supprise for you very soon, you'll know when the time is right. C'mon UA-cam let's push Southern Fire Guitars and bring joy and light into more lives in this time of darkness and gloom.

Thank you so much, David. I really appreciate that. I'm going to be on the lookout for those big wine boxes now, Ive seen them at flea markets but always passed on them. Excellent job, Michael! Its new owner will be very pleased with the result1! I like through-the-box neck designs, (much stronger and more rigid). It has the same scale length as mine; 25-1/2 inches, and 15 frets, and a loose bridge for intonation. I leave my box unpainted/untreated so as not to dampen the acoustic sound. It's fitted with a Piezo Electric transducer, for my VOX Mini5 Rhythm Amp! I love playing it as an acoustic CBG! Take care, all!

Hello Michael, it's hard to find a Cigar Box in my country, but there are boxes in our online market, mostly used a PINE woods. Some of them with lid plus lid's frame. But none of those have lid ( without lid's frame ) like Cigar Box.
The other has a SLIDING LID ( without frame ).
Could these box especially with SLIDING LID be made of CBG, I have no idea how to construct it. If you have please make one and share the way you make it here. Thanks Michael.
