Man the more I hear your amps the more I feel an insatiable itch to play one. A truly stunning pure overdrive tone even through the overcompressed UA-cam format. They must be simply jaw-dropping in person. I aspire to own one someday sir. Forget Dumble Mr. Gijka seems to be the true tone master who's not some recluse who has to resort to tricks to build a mythology for his amps. I salute your real-deal playing style, down-to-earth straight to the point attitude and seirous other-worldly electronics genius sir! Cheers to you both these videos are pure gold to those who appreciate electric guitar!

Damnit, sucks to hear Aspen has passed on. My copy of "the gospel according to Pittman" isn't as worn as yours yet, but it's on it's way. Stay healthy Bob, your 1 of the last living amp legends still kicking.

my tube amp book is also in pieces. i,m not a tech but there was a lot of great stuff in the book.
my only peve is how changing your tubes every 6 months with a fresh set of groove tubes was pushed over and over in the book.
our local amp tech had a huge stash of american and euro made tubes from all the guys wanting to go with groove tubes. they were real big around here for quite some time and he rat holed a small fortune in older tubes that were still good.
i just kept buying my tubes from radioshack with a lifetime gaurantee. never had one go bad in all the amps i put them in. i never matched them but my amps always sounded fine to me. nowadays i would find matched ones but i have old tubes and no problems right now.
i have one of aspens brown concerts with bluebacks in it, its a cool amp

Wow, what a blessing to have him sharing!! I have a matched pair of EL34s from JJ, with an Apex matched set sticker saying Current 20 and Transcend 5950. I wonder what the sweet spot would be?

Those amps have what i refer to as the "ing" Its that bell like thing that happens when you kinda brush the note.Listen to it it's saying "innngggg" 😄 Really nice tone!

I make up word for tone chasing nuances too. Funny. There's some other thing going on in the sound as well.

As soon as folks get into the more technical aspects of amplifiers they always seem to forget about 2 of the most important things, that is tubes and speakers.

I think people are aware of various speakers, but they are harder to swap, and can get costly. I don't think people know where to start with tubes. They figure they will change them when they wear out. I'll agree that they both make a huge difference.
