- This is a easy to make pod that makes doing laundry so easy. Here I use I have a recipe the full recipe calls for 3 cups of Borax 3 cups of super washing soda one cup oxy clean one bar of soap and vinegar until it forms a sand light texture. Once you reach a sand like texture then you want to fill your trays and let it set overnight simple as that.
Great job! I am so glad you showed how hard they are after setting. No need for wrapping.
I’d recommend using Zote bar soap it’s for laundry and whitens clothing it’s less than a dollar and you can get it at Walmart
thank you
She prefers Dial and it probably cleans better, I've tried Zote and didn't think it cleaned very well.
I have been experimenting and making my own detergent and love zote. From what I have seen and read you want to stay away from soap with moisturizer in it. I thought dial had them in it.
Thanks for putting your recipes underneath so that we can have it for later thank you so much awesome and amazing
I love this, it's so awesome and thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Sounds and looks like a nice alternative to expensive liquid laundry detergent and pods. Any videos of it being used in a load of laundry? Can I substitute the soap with Ivory bar soap?
Shazad Mohammed any bar soap works I like dial because it is antibacterial but I can do a video of me dropping it in the washer and what they look like when they come out I don't have a washer that you can see in
Ivory soap is low sudsing and I have used it successfully.
That’s great to know
Love the idea of making my laundry powder into pods. I make all my own organic cleaners and powders, laundry liquids , bath and toilet bombs etc. I never thought to make pods with my laundry powder. Would be easier and already measured out as well. As I live i New Zealand I don't get any of the brands of products used in the states so I make my own castile soap for my laundry powder which i find is great. Thank you for sharing your video, loved it.
bex doc I just drop it in with laundry like I do any other pod
This is awesome
THANK you so much for responding YOU ARE awesome and amazing thank you so much for sharing
Cindy Strother your very welcome thank you for taking the time to watch and support me
Just make some today I hope it works from Michigan with love
Elise Barsdale did it worked?
Yes but it didn't all dissolve,,small piece was in the buttom, but it work well thank you for making the video
That Rocks!
i love this video thank you!!
Thank you for your feedback
Where do you recommend putting the pod in the washing machine for front loaders?
If you going to go the the lengths of making pods, why not just use powder or liquid in bulk? Pods are a convenience item.
Thank you so much please can you share how to make liquid lundary pod or is it same with liquid soap
After you packed them into the mold. How long do you wait for them to dry and harder before popping them out of the mold ? Also can you put them out in the sun to dry faster ? Thanks in advance ..blessings
Karlos Meza, I let mine set overnight I have never put them in the sun
It’s amazing I love it. How many should I use per load? Thanks
I use one of the ice cube size
Thx. I just asked this question above.👍🏾
lotsa fun thanks for posting this!
may 2018 be a great year for you and yours.

Thank you I hope your 2018 is amazing as well
Awesome video
Thanks for this easy to follow video. Did you ever show the dishwasher pods or toilet bombs?
No the dish pods left my dishes greasy and never got time for the toilet pods
Thanx Rachelle - can I just used Zote & Borax or do I HAVE to use super wash ?
YOU ARE SO welcome THANK YOU for BEING there to help people like me THANKS again for responding and show you TRULY DO CARE thank you so very much
Put a little tape over the holes and you double your small pod making capacity. :)
+Logan Quinn thank you
Holes where? I may be having a senior moment so forgive me if I don’t see the obvious.
I have had this bookmarked for over a year. Excited to try it in these Covid19 times 🤗 Question: how many pods per load?
1 pod per load you don't want to use to much soap or they wont get clean I know it sounds weird but it works
How many do you use per load, just one or two? More? *question answered below*
I love the pod idea. A few years ago I was obsessed with watching all the homemade laundry vids, but it usually yielded enough for like three years. I like this small amount and the pod formation. I would likely use zote over dial, though.
Sorry to take so long to answer we were out of the country I use one per load unless they are really soiled then I use 2

Despite the big black "LAUNDRY PODS" in the title my dumba$$ STILL thought they were marshmallows at first glance 🙄
Great Tutorial, Question, I have a top loader so I would put in when the water fills up, then the clothes? Thxs for sharing.
Evelyn J. Amponsah I have a top load washer and I just toss mine in with the clothes I'm simple the water dissolves it so there is nothing left behind
Funny I add them to the bottom of the top loader. But I've been having problems with some light sporting or build-up on my clothes.
I am not using them anymore I have been using store bought I feel like it just gets them cleaner
@@couponmom05 I read an article about soap leaving residue on your laundry and not cleaning them well because it doesn't contain the surfactants that commercial detergents have, which are what cleans the clothes. So it makes sense when you say store-bought cleans better.
It doesn’t clog up your pipes or machine? They told me to only use pods In my washer or it will get gummed up. I think the bar soap would clog it but I don’t know. I wish a chemist would tell us. I’d skip the bar soap. Ty
I have never had a problem when the water is hot it melts the soap
I make homemade laundry soap as well but have never done the pods, do they disolve all the way?
Emmy123849 Smith yes they do I started making them because I like the pods but the store ones left a film and I do not have that with these
homeand famlife Oh ok! I've never used the pods before so I was curious if they fully diaolved. Maybe I'll try making the pods sometime.
What is the result compared to leading brands? Does it really clean as good as commercial brands? It's easy to say but show a comparison
They do work great but I have went back to store brands because I didn’t have time to keep making them
@@couponmom05 I have bought a large bottle of gain and already have several bars of naptha soap and soda and borax, and I'm gonna make a super batch of Gain/homemade detergent,
That sounds amazing I love the smell of gain
Unfortunately you added chemicals in your pods with the soap & oxiclean. Same kind of chemicals in store bought laundry cleaners. Consider Castile soap and a oxygen cleanser that has no chemicals like 365 from Whole Foods. There are others. Vinegar neutralizes baking soda so you need to use one or the other but not together
So cool, thanks for the share. I wonder can you use glycerin for binder or will it not harden. I ask because vinegar will set dye and I was concerned.
Martha West I have never tried it like that but if you try it let me know how it works
home and fam life sure, I will, like to use vinegar for cleaning and rinse, but the vinegar may set stains , just a thought 😟 thanks so much for the pod idea👍🏻😊💖
This woman: “…instead of having those jelly pods with *all the chemicals and stuff* in them we’re gonna make some of our own!”
Also this woman: (makes own pods with several ‘chemicals and stuff’)
🤦🏻♂️
;ooks easy inough
Dial has a lot of chemicals
How do you feel about Zote or Fels Naptha?
I have used both in the past and found that they both work just as well.
Do you live in FL? Mine feel apart 😭 idk if it's because of the heat or something else. At Forest they were good but then they became very frail to the touch
I live in KY so the humidity may be affected yours
@@couponmom05 yeah it is really humid down here but it is still good soap. I used it to clean my clothes after my dogs were laying all over them after getting out of the rain and they stunk and it took the smell right out and made them smell good so I'm happy with that at least I just wish they would keep the pod shape me and my grandma were so excited when I first made them
CAN you use in front load machine?
Cindy Strother yes you can use in a front load my mom has they are compatible with he washers as well
I do my own laundry powder also. Just a question, why turn them into pods where you can just leave them alone in powder form?Save you time from turning them into pod, isn't that truth?
+L L my latest batch I left as powder I was doing pods because they were easier for the kids when they did laundry
Does this dissolve well in cold water or do you have to let it soak in the water before you close the lid???
Maria Collins yes they do
Can I use it in cold water?
Yes I have used them with cold water but I like to use warm water but they dissolves in both
So these just harden sitting out?
Sharla Gardner yes the ingredients dry together like a bath bomb does
@@couponmom05 Ok Thx! I'll be trying this.
I seriously love this video. I like doing laundry so it's good for me.. (* ̄︶ ̄*) good job. and don't stop doing what you doing. there are always gonna be people with negative things to say. who knows maybe they are haters.
Espeon Spring haters will be haters I will keep pushing through I am working a full time job now so my videos may not be consistent but I will be trying to get a posting schedule going soon
yes i really like this video especially because people keep telling me that i cant use tide laundry pods to hand wash my clothes it really bothers me. i dont have a washing mashine so i have to hand wash my clothes anybody else who needs laundry done. but with those u made if i make my own i wont need no other detergent nor other laundry pods. sweet and they last a long time it was very helpful to me. im my own laundry matt. lol its true. im taking all the edvise i need. thanks again.
Espeon Spring yes girl right.
Does it make the clothes smell good?
It really does not have a sent so I have quit using them I put sent beads in my powder and use power or I buy store brand because on time
@@couponmom05 Thank you for your quick reply and honesty ❤
I feel like being open and honest is they best way to be
Dial is geared more towards a deodorant body soap... should use Ivory bar soap instead.
Thank you
Prove it ….
This is so bad for your washing machine and your clothes. You need actual detergent that contain surfactants to actually clean. This will coat your machine and clothes with soap scum, just like it coats your shower walls and glass.
I am currently using store detergent
Once you introduce OxyClean to liquids, it will lose its effectiveness in a couple of hours. A complete waste.
Thank you I never knew that
Prove it ??
What a fucking mission!!!
+JOEY FRIEN I'm on a mission to save money and provide safe and healthy products for my family
Why don't you skip the shredding part of the bar just tell us we know how to shred Skip To The Next Step quicker please
I will keep that in mind for next time thank you
Really??? Omg .🤦🏼♀️
Can you use it in and HE washer?
Yes
No offense but update to 2023 - this is not good LONG TERM for your wash machine or clothes as it leaves residue and clothes eventually willl not come clean - BUT I’d use it sparingly!! Not in every load but I love Zote … & I have soft water so i will use half a pod … 😊 … Oct . 24, 2023 💐💐
You can also use vinegar in the last rinse water to remove more particles left behind…
About 1/2-1 cup of white vinegar in last rinse
