- The new Ax Edge but with the old school sound of the Ax Synth courtesy of the Roland Sonic Cell sound module. It's like the best of both worlds! Finally the editing power of the old meets the controller of the new.

Roland put all the ax synth patches on their site for free
But they are .Axe files. I doubt they can be placed on Sonic Cell. Or... can they be placed there? Anyway, I hav an AX Synth and an AX7. The AX7 has wireless midi with something added on to it, so maybe I can get a sonic cell and make it sound like the ax synth. That gives me more freedom to move around the stage, less weight, more battery life...

Bonus: own the Sonic Cell too.......they stopped making the later modules as good or capable as the SC.
It's capabilities are undersung and underutilized.

Fantastic Jam 👏🏼💪🏼. I like using my AX Edge with my Hammond Organ as well. I am just now starting to explore the capabilities of this unit. I will try the editing app next.
Are there any usable b3 kinda organs in the ax edge?

Hi ! Is the guitar sound played by the AX EDGE included in the Sonic Cell or do I need to buy an extension (SRX cards)?
Yes it's a modified preset called searing cosm. There is a very similar preset on the edge but it's easier to edit on the cell. Remove any decay tail and all fx then run it through any decent gtr fx

its all about how you play it, the sound is secondary but the mod bar and pitch ribbon really makes the sound come alive

Hey! So I have the Ax Edge but I only get to use it for mostly synth stuff because thats what I started out playing mostly. But I’m also experienced in emulating rock sounds like this but I don’t have any rock guitar sounds like what I hear in this video? Where can I get this sound and others like it so I can make more rockstar videos like this?
John, a question, I've posted to some forums, and to Roland itself, but no answer as yet, I have used AX1 AX 7 to control my XV 5080 and D550 (using midi wireless) I purchased an AX Synth, but returned it same day as it did not transmit CC07 volume data in real time to my external modules. Have they rectified this oversight with the EDGE. I need to assign CC07 to the assignable pot and control volume in real time in a live situation, is this is the case, I'm buying one tomorrow, thanks
Are you using the factory functions for the ribbon and bar or did you reassign them to something else?
Great Guitar sound and yes I miss the AX Synth as well with their guitar sound. Is there a way for you to create the sound and save it to the new AX Edge app so I can download it along with the tones needed? I would gladly pay for it. Thank you!

how do you program the soniccell to respond to the modulation from ax edge?
I'm a little confused. There is a tone on the Ax Edge that sounds a lot like seering cosm guitar, but the vibrato is too fast. I don't have my ax edge in front of me to tell you the patch number, but if you just slow the vibrato rate down on the mod lever, wouldn't that basically do the trick? I have a Juno ds76 which gives me the same cosm guitar sounds, but still, I feel like that sound is almost there in the ax edge, I hear it.
The cosm is almost there, the main thing is the editor for the sonic cell is far more friendly and in depth, much like the ax synth editor but allows a lot more tweaking, the ax edge just has something missing with the cosm. Also it's nice to have the expansion boards

Yup, my all time favourite Roland sound... the Soaring Cosm but they leave it out of the AX sound set?? That seems to be the Roland way... you must buy a separate sound source to get a lead sound that should already be on a dedicated lead playing instrument like the AX. Ah, Roland... it goes on and on. Uhg.

Yeah I'm not sure how you shred like that on a keytar, even though I'm a keyboard player, I don't think I can ever get on that level. I do desperately want one of those though, damn it, why are they so expensive...

The edge as a controller, the sonic cell as the sound source, the ds61 is very similar sounding to the sonic cell
