What the hornscent did to the shaman, is probably one of the most horrific things in elden ring’s story and that’s saying something. I kinda can’t really blame Marika for wanting revenge. but she could have delivered justice to those responsible, shown the people that they should put their faith in golden order. But instead marika burned everything and everyone in the land of shadow, only causing more suffering.
IMO Marika was driven into a permanent mental breakdown from everything that happened. The only people she ever loved and knew were completely wiped out in the most horrific way. This cause her to so paranoid with anything that even remotly may have a chance to rebel. In her eyes, wiping out ANY opposition small or big was a necessity. She was sill a little stable, but then...her son too was murdered and by a family member as well. Further drivng her paranoia. That was the last straw. Now she wanted absolutely everything wiped out as well as herself and the Golden Order. Hence why we are revived and heweg making a weapon to slay a god. Although i dont agree with Ranni's method, I can understand her want to just escape it all. Just abandon and start over. Miquellaa kinda wanted that too although in a more scary way due to the fact that it would be taking away everyones free will thus having "order" in the world

I just realized: Had Marika not done the crusade against the Hornsent, her Omen children would have likely ruled over them. They would gladly obey Morgott and Mogh, leaving Marika to be seen as a benevolent and loving Godess, with the Hornsent worshipping her. That would have been the ultimate revenge.

They finally dropped the video on the dlc, real hyped to listen to it. It's always vaati, zullie and brother's code that i watch for elden soulsborne lore vids. I often prefer to listen to the brother's code vids while busy with things like work, cooking etc which is why their vids are the only ones i watch more than once. Now i just need to wait 5-8 years for elden ring 2 the electric boogaloo to get the next lore vid lol.
When you think about it, the furnace golems might’ve been designed to be Marika and Messmer’s “jars” for the Hornsent: A massive, animated entity powered by living beings stuffed inside it to keep it active.
I said the same thing on another video; thinking back on it now, Messmer is more like Filianore, Gwen's daughter from Dark Souls 3 since they were both sent away by their parent to hide some secret from the world; the Land of Shadows and Ringed City, respectively.
Hindsight being 20/20, it would've been cool if, after the fight with Leda and her crew, should your character have been aligned with the Formless Mother(like My character was), Ansbach will notice your red eyes, put 2 and 2 together that since We were the one to who came out on top in our duel with Mohg, the Formless Mother now favors Us, and in turn, ask that we allow him to serve under Us the way he served under Mohg. Since now, _We_ are essentially the new Lord or Lady of Blood.

I loved this DLC. Shadow of the Erdtree is a spectacle to me. I beat Elden Ring twice recently, and most of the Lands Between just feels lost to time. Everything is abandoned and the world just feels still. Shadow of the Erdtree, from the moment you stepped in, you could feel the grim and horror between the grass and gravestones. The crusades and massacre’s history are still there, and You have to end it. To see this as the land of ascending Godhood, there is little doubt that everything imposed by the Greater Will was a mistake
Unlike the others there seems to be a lot of bosses that aren’t covered especially the plant flower thing with miquellas great rune overall very well done and great video
Hot take but I think Bayle was not a traitor. Knowing the timeline with Placidusax becoming Elden lord it would make sense that the dragon lord would take guidance from the greater will / metyr rather then their own god. I think there was a turning point when Placidusax was no longer Elden lord but still sought guidance. In my opinion Bayle attempted to gain the thrown to allow the dragons to move forward without the greater will and due to not completing the task was demonized leading to dragon communion and drake persecution. In my head canon he tried to save the dragons from the greater will and was not successful leaving the ancient dragons to fall to pieces and for Placidusax to do nothing but wait for further communication that would never come.
This confirms that Ranni has the right idea for the Lands Between. Ranni is the only one who didn’t discard her humanity, even if she did discard her flesh. As for Godwyn he was a slave to Marika and the Greater Will because of his war against the dragons. Ranni would’ve been a slave to the Greater had she not enacted the Night of Black Knives to kill Godwyn and free her soul from her Empyrean flesh. While Miquella did bad things to control the world, Ranni did bad things in order to make the world better.

I doubt that a great war was what Radahn wanted in his part of the bargain. Because, if it was, then it's out of both his and Miquella's character, how they loved the people under their command. It also doesnt match up with events in the Shattering War.

That's why they(devs) didn't gave him voice lines! and i don't think the description that Miquella found one that refused to be embraced is about Tarnished.. its about Radahn.. think about it, he stopped the stars to prevent his fate, he fought Malenia cuz he didn't wanted to be the Consort, even when he lost his mind he knew he have to keep himself alive to stop the stars thus preventing fate! or you can believe he did all this to keep his stees alive!

The chalice dungeons have direct story ties to the Old Ones which ties directly into the old blood, which ties directly into the beasthood outbreak, which ties directly into the hunt, which ties directly into the church, which tie directly into the vile bloods. Every corner of Bloodborne ties itself back to something. Elden Ring doesnt do it to that extent.

I don't think that Radahn agreed to anything. I think he was charmed like Mogh and pretty much anyone else who interacted with Miquella. The only character who freely followed Miquella was his sister. She genuinely loved him but everyone else was mind controlled.

@@Forthelulz01 Why'd you even respond bruh? Literally nothing is in the game about the formless mother outside of an item that said Mogh found her and used her blood. That's it. It's a bullet point, no connection to anything.
If you've delved so deep you could have easily dropped even one piece of information. Chances are you havent either and you know it.
@@KyngD469 I'm not going to lecture you on lore that you're not interested in. I was just curious how you came to that conclusion after watching this lore video and presumably the previous one, not to mention Vaati's contributions. Agree to disagree, I paid a lot of attention to the game while playing and constantly connected things from item descriptions and dialogue. It was fun.
I don't think that Radahn agreed to anything. I think he was charmed like Mogh and pretty much anyone else who interacted with Miquella. The only character who freely followed Miquella was his sister. She genuinely loved him but everyone else was mind controlled.
