As a Finn, I am so happy for Latvia winning. If only the semifinals were played in Latvia, the people deserve it. It was funny to read the Finnish hockey forum during the games where at some point people just started rooting for Latvia and no one cared about Finland losing. All the best to Latvia in the semis!

NHL playoffs dropout players totally shouldn't be taken to the team especially if they haven't ever played pro hockey in europe in large rinks. Sweden vs. Finland might have been the worst game in the tournament. Both couldn't score or make opportunities
Finland's Mikko Rantanen dropped from 1st round and apparently joined too late by judging how short time he had in adapting to large rink and to play with the team in general. Canada and usa don't really have these kind of issues as they don't take playoff dropouts they just start their gigs on the end of the season and take medals

As a Finn I immediately switched into a Latvia fan when Canada scored 3-0 on us. Hope you guys score a medal!
Hahah, I had the same reaction. I was watching both games but mainly the Finland one and when the game went 3-0 I knew there was no coming back from that. Finland played well enough, but Canada was too strong and we didn't have the scoring touch.

After having to watch an embarrassing loss in Finland vs Canada, seeing that Latvia beat Sweden immediately made me feel a lot better. Happy for Latvian fans they definitely deserved this win hopefully it brings more attention to hockey in Latvia.
