I love watching people travel to Vienna and I get to experience things that are normal for me from an outside perspective. It reminds me that living in such a culturally rich city is not the norm and should be apprechiated more (:
How do you love Vienna? I’m an art student… and after my education I’m considering moving there for work and just life in general. I’ve been there many times and absolutely love it. Though i know sometimes visiting and living someplace are two different things
I'm Viennese and I'm so grateful to see other peoples Vlogs visiting Vienna! I'm happy you liked the experience of the architecture and culture we have here! Your video is really relaxing and I enjoyed watching it.😊 Wishing you all the best and you are super talented!! Have a great day!🌞

Thank you for this amazing virtual trip to Vienna which is such a stunning city. Brough up nice memories of cafes, parks, castles, abundance of culture etc. I totally admire your ability to not lose your head and to purchase only a few things in the big art shop :)
Beautiful video from a stunning city. 🤩I put it straight on my list of places I want to go. Thank you so much for sharing. 🥰The palm house and the huge art shop was amazing!
GERSTAECKER Artists' Specialist Market Vienna = On 1.250 square meters of sales space, there are more than 25,000 items in stock, clearly presented, and a huge range of art supplies. It is centrally located in the 5th district and is easily accessible by busses and subway U4.
What a joy to watch! I love Vienna and luckily live a couple of hours away. Next time you come to visit if you want a friendly face or another sketcher to hang out with let me know! So glad you got to see that exhibition in the Albertina modern, it was fantastic!
Thank you for a very enjoyable trip around Vienna. I was there a few years ago, and if I had k down about the massive art store, I think I would have spent all my time there. Lucky you, finding that.
Before heading there I didn't think there were any art shops - how wrong I was! I'm so glad to have found them, they were unlike any art store I've ever visited! 😄
I love your drawings, they capture the buildings so well! I live in Vienna and work in the Inner City district (where most of the museums in this video are located), it's honestly amazing to be able to go to work in such a beautiful environment. I also got so nostalgic when you went through Boesner, I went to art school in Austria and we had always had crates of the big Amsterdam Acrylics shown around 16:20 for our painting classes, it's a really solid brand. Also, my recommendation for your next visit is definitely the Leopold Museum! It's my favourite, the permanent exhibit is called Vienna 1900 and features a lot of Klimt, Schiele and art deco design, as well as historic information about the most significant cultural/artistic epochs of Vienna.
Aah thank you so much, it's so lovely to hear your thoughts on the city! I'll definitely visit the Leopold Museum next time I'm in Vienna, it sounds absolutely wonderful! Thank you for sharing your recommendation 😊
@@KatieMoody No problem :) There is even free entry every first Thursday of the month from 6-9pm! (although that still doesn't feel like enough time to appreciate everything)
Absolutely loved this video Katie 😍 What a stunning city with everything an artist could possibly want to fill that creative cup. I can't wait till you go back and see more. Thanks for sharing ❤
I am glad you had fun in Vienna how brave you are ! Just like the 16th and 17th Century Artists… that travelled to Europe .love your art you created too. food look mega tasty hahahahha Welcome back to the UK xxxxx Happy Art xxxx
What a wonderful trip - thanks for sharing it! I’ve only been to Vienna once a very long time ago & this makes me want to go back. I didn’t get a chance to see as much as you did & I’d love to go with a digital camera & a sketchbook. No way to pick a favorite, but that Palm House & the final museum you went to are definitely on my list!
Thank you for watching! 💜 It was definitely a jam-packed trip, next time I'd like to take things a little slower and hopefully sketch more! 😊 100% recommend the Palm House and the Natural History museum! Definite must-visits and I'll definitely go back to those next time as well 🥰
Thank you for this inspiring video❤I've also visited Vienna twice for the last year and fallen in love with the architecture! 😊I spent 4 hours in the National Archeological Museum and even was exhausted by the interesting things. 😮But I didn't know about the gigantic art supplies store❤
It's a stunning city, I can't wait to go back! I'll have to check out the Archeological Museum next time I visit too, that sounds fascinating! I'd definitely recommend the art supplies store too - I will go back with more of a plan next time as it was overwhelming with so much choice!! 🤣
What an amazing place, I will have to visit there, especially the art shop , I've never seen anything like it, I live in the Highlands of Scotland and we don't have any proper art shops here. Loved the way you worked too it looked so good and really captured the seen , thank you ❤
The kraft sketchbook is fun to paint with acrylics. I've done mine and have decided I'll always get the kraft and paint them. Fun times. Thank you for sharing!
When I was watching your video I was like, this was exactly how my solo trip to Vienna looking like in last month!!! I went to all those galleries/ museums that you went and I like to do my drawings during my trip too!!! Absolutely understand how much joy you’ve had!!!❤
This was so fun to watch! I've been to Vienna before and it brought back many memories! I had bought a little tin from the Albertina Museum gift shop that I now use to hold my pencil shavings in my art bag. :) Thanks for sharing!
Great video and looks like an amazing solo trip! Thank you for sharing. I love Magritte and so nice to see one of his works; also love Monet and seeing his works in your video :)
If you like the larger posca and want some different colors I would suggest looking into molotow. I like the chisels and some colours overlap or are similar enough that you can skip, definitely don’t need the full set.
Ah I'd love to visit Vienna! I heard from a lot of people it's a gorgeous city. And I can imagine it's such a good place for a solo getaway. Great video
So nice to revisit Vienna with you 😆. You definitely managed to fit in doing more things than me. We mostly just stayed in the Stephansplatz area as our hotel was there. Totally agree about the natural history museum needing lots of time - it's going to be the first place I revisit if I get to go back to Vienna one day.
Hehe thank you Emma! It was a jam-packed trip for sure, I was exhausted by the end of it 🤣 My hotel was in Westbahnhof so I feel like I didn't spend as much time as I thought I would around Stephansplatz! Definitely heading back to the Natural History Museum next time 💜
What a lovely video 😄🧡 So inspiring seeing all the buildings and museums. I think my favourite had to be the large art store, what a dream to look around a shop like that, only problem is that I think I would have spent way too much money 😅 I would love to get into urban sketching next year, looks so fun to draw outside (but a little scary too) 😊
Thank you so much 🥰💜 The large art store was absolutely wild, just SO much stuff! Hahaha I would love a store like that closer but like you say, maybe it's good I don't 😂💸 Urban sketching has been so fun to learn! Drawing outside isn't so scary once you've done it once I promise 🥰 Most people pay no attention at all!
Beautiful trip.... doing a solo art trip is also on my bucket list, but never got the courage to actually do it ! I really enjoyed the natural museum in Vienna too, such an amazing place both for its building and for the amazing collections. Thank you for sharing this experience with all of us :)
Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment! It's a pleasure to share 🥰 I really can't wait to go back and visit the natural history museum! I bet I could spend an entire trip there 😂
wonderful😍😍😍 I visited Vienna with some friends a few years ago in summer and we enjoyed this fabulous city as much as you did! It brings back all those memories: seeing the beautiful places you visited and it makes me want to go there again, maybe on my own, too, for sketching, seeing different places and exhibitions😊 and visiting art stores 😂thank you so much for the vlog❤
Oh that's so wonderful to read, I'm so glad it brings back those lovely memories for you! 🥰 I already want to go back and do more sketching (and yep, back to the art stores too, of course 😂)
I so enjoyed watching this, seeing places I been too. Absolutely love Vienna and you definitely inspired me to go back there again (last time I was there was July 1987, crikey, that's a while ago ha ha). What brands are the two light blue markers you used the church sketches?
Aah that's so wonderful, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I bet the city has changed a bit since then but isn't it amazing that the architecture and buildings still stand and the city still holds so much culture 🥰 They are Montana Acrylic markers, but I've mixed the colours myself using refills to get those shades 😊
I am glad you liked your trip to Vienna! It's my first video of yours, did I understand correctly that you are from the UK? Personally, I love visiting London, kinda as a vice versa haha but I know british people usually don't like London, just like Austrians from outside the capital don't like Vienna 😅😅😅 is it the curse of all capitals? Anyway, glad you loved Albertina and Naturhistorisches Museum, they are my favourites aswell! There is just so much to learn at the natural history museum, it's so fascinating. I am surprised you didn't mention Albrecht Dürer, since he is kind of the poster child of the Albertina (or, well, his rabbit is). I am really fascinated by realism, so his art just always leaves me in awe. Especially the animal and plant studies he did (I don't like humans as much lol). But aside from him, the Monet to Picasso exhibition is also my favourite (less of a Picasso fan though, to be honest). And the Demel Kaiserschmarrn is actually so good! Usually, that is a common food people make at home, so we would write it off as a tourist trap. BUT! I remember during covid (at least I've never noticed before), they started selling it on the street like that, to go, and a friend and I met outside for a little Kaiserschmarrn date haha and it was actually incredible! Highly worth it! Much better than I make it at home 😅😅 Café Central is a bit of a tourist trap tho 😅 not because it's bad, but just because there is always a line outside, when you can get an authentic Kaffeehaus experience elsewhere aswell... If you return next time, I highly recommend testing out e.g. Café Ritter (at Mariahilferstraße). It's not AS grand, but still has that old-time charm and is much more lowkey. If you want one with an incredible view of Votivkirche (another beautiful neo-gothic church almost on the Ring, but surrounded by a park, unlike Stephansdom), try Cafe Votiv (a bit more modern but good food) or the Aida chain cafe next to it (very cute vibe and nice view, but the cakes are definitely better at Konditorei Oberlaa chain)! It could be nice as a drawing spot! Chilling in a Café and reading, drawing or just sitting in silence is such a viennese thing to do hahaha hope you get to experience that next time, aswell! All the best 😊
Oh, and the Zoo is actually super nice, aswell! If you like sketching animals and maybe a little bit of that Schönbrunn architecture on top, I really recommend it. Some animal houses are actually in that style, since it was established under Empress Maria Theresia (apparently by her husband) and is the oldest still existing Zoo in the world :)
Yes I'm from the UK! Haha yes I know what you mean, I think we all look at other countries and see the better side than our own capitals 😂 Thank you so much for your recommendations, so many great ideas! I do hope to visit again one day so I'll be referencing this comment when I go back! Next time I'd like to take things slower and do some more drawing in cafes (though I need to work up the courage!) Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to share your ideas 🥰
Another information = However, (in Wien) Boesner shop is actually a wholesaler and therefore only sells to commercial customers (freelance artists, art shops, students, etc.). For this you will probably have to have a customer card created !!!
