This "extended" format is, to me, sooooo much better, in terms of enjoyment as a watcher. If I were you, though? I'd do whatever the heck I felt like! You're doing 10/10 already, just some thoughts I wanted to drop. Greatly appreciate these longer videos 🙇

Been lurkin for a while, but I have to say something, El Cook!
First of all, in case someone hasn't told you lately, you're amazing! You are wholesome and delightful and bring joy to folks like me. Second of all, thank you for making all these recipes and techniques so accessible. I absolutely LOVE Thai food, but have never been brave enough to try cooking any before. I made this recipe tonight! It was delicious!! The store didn't have thai chilis, so I subbed two large serranos, and added carrots, red cabbage and mushrooms (too bad I didn't think to get... bok choy!!). Oh and about 3x the garlic the recipe called for. Lol. Because garlic!! It was... *chefs kiss* A-MA-ZING!
Anyway, keep bein' you, brother! Lookin' forward to your future short and long form content. Peace!!

I'm making mine with scrimps because Louisiana. Love your videos! When I tell people I can cook Thai, they assumeThai food is difficult to make. Thanks for demystifying it in such a charming and accessible way! More people should make Thai at home-- it's delicious and usually fairly simple if you're talking american-style dishes.

Bok choy or broccoli, I'm addicted to those leafy greens! LOVE me some drunken noodles, I have a really hard time getting anything else when I get Thai. MAYBE if I made my own (the el cook way), I'd be able to branch out more. Or maybe I'd spend less money on thai *GASP*
Love how you were melting down at the end. Fantastic video, thanks for putting this recipe on my radar.

Bok choy! This looks absolutely delicious. I wasn't sure if this was going to be the drunken noodles that I've heard Italians make? Which I think is made with either the pasta boiled in wine or with a lot of wine added. But I like that you shared this recipe. I've been making regular twice monthly trips to my local Asian store. And I enjoy learning new recipes. So this looks like another delicious reason to explore my local Asian store. Also growing up we called both the thicker green chilies and the thinner smaller red chillies jalapeños. Looking back that's hilarious. My mother's boyfriend had a friend who would put both in a glass jar with vinegar and leave it for a while. He sprinkled that on everything.

Just 2 for that plate?! Wtf, I usually do like 1/4 of the green one you used for an entire cooking pan for 4 people, and it's plenty of spicy already. I foking love food from all around the asian continent but usually they do to much spicy (specially Indian and Thai food), so much that it overpowers the other flavors and all I can taste is spicy, it's all about developing flavors and balancing them, at least for my own taste. Luv your channel, chill, laid back, very informative and it's clear it's something you love to do and teach about it, keep it real ✌️

It works with substitutions fine. Some areas are hard to find a properly stocked Asian market and it’s how we made do through the 80’s. Fish sauce is something you can definitely get online if you’re looking for it. If you get these sauces, go ahead and get stocked. They’re useful and kick ass. Oyster sauce stir fried beef, cut some Chinese broccoli in and bam, pure gold over rice. Hit it with a pop of sesame seeds if you’re feeling sassy. Hit me up if you want a crash course on Papaya Salad.

I love the chill vibes brother. I call it onion because it's the best so it deserves to be the default. Otherwise you got white red and yellow onions and shallots, or fancy lads. If you add the bok choy at the same time as the basil it should come out nice and fragrant with a nice little bit of crunch. Preem suggestion.
