- Newly-unearthed instance of a beloved local commercial series featuring "The Special Man," without the "WITH NOOOOOOOOO PROBLEMS" guy who always looked like David Alan Grier to me
"I have perfect credit!"
"Now hol' on just a minute..."
you still need to see the Special Man
😂😂
lol, I was showing my nephew his dad Franky. The young woman speaking Spanish at the back end of the commercial is my youngest sister! She was with him almost 30 years before he passed.Proud to say that we loved Franky! He was very, very good to our family. He and my sister were very much in love. Also very proud to say that he was a Marine and my sister is retired military as well.
I just filed bankruptcy 🥰
Let her have it!!
Now you can furnish your new place with 80’s style furnitures!!
Let ‘em Have it
With no problem
With noooo problem
I miss them so much , the originals that many won't remember
I remember Japanese Ogre
The Special man was my brother in law, Mr. Frank Trapani! He was the most wonderful person in the world! He loves my whole family dearly and we all miss him dearly. Especially his youngest son! My beautiful nephew A.😊
I love y'all too !
May he rest in peace!
0:38 as a Spanish speaker, hearing the first line with a thick accent and then the second line coming out so natural so hilariously jarring on my ears 😭😂😂
"With noooooo problem!"
Thank you for uploading this. These are the ones I originally remember seeing.
Grew up in Amite and we still say see the special man lmao
'I'm a convicted cannibal with a bad credit rating'... 'have to see the special man!'
I just filed for bankrupty_ With her smile on her face. hahahahahahahahahah

Nowadays they check your credit and income and all that BS. Back in the day they just take your word for it.
I miss the old days!!
Love these commercials!!!!
You think acting is easy, then you try it. 😁
i found this on fb yesterday i was cracking up
I have this same commercial somewhere in my collection.
Notice if you listen closely that the Spanish-speaking woman in the pink dress (at about the 0:38 second mark) definitely has a Southern-sounding American accent when she says the magic phrase SPECIAL MAN! Her accent in English implies she must be an ISLENO from the Louisiana coast... Islenos are descendants of colonial Spanish settlers from the Canary Islands (which are still a Spanish colony today) but Islenos don't usually speak fluent Spanish today, and they definitely speak English with a Southern drawl! Many do make an attempt to learn Spanish at an elementary level though! I guess there also is a possibility the woman here is originally from Florida of Cuban heritage, but with English as her first language (yes, there are some "Cubans" in Florida who speak English with a Southern accent!) or possibly a "Tejano" born and raised in Texas!
Or it's not that deep. It's just a 80s furniture tv advert lol. I'm African-American, so I'm just going by observations. Customer lady looks Guatemalan/Honduran/Belizean etc., due to how tan she is, and it's not my business how she or her family ended up in Louisiana area; and the employee, I'm 100 percent sure she's just American/Latina American, (a lot of Latina American girls in the 80s/90s had their hair cut medium short like that etc.) that's bilingual, and She's just a Spanish/Latina woman, probably has family roots from Cali, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas etc. working for a Black owned furniture store, she would most defiantly have to be fluent in English too, in New Orleans you know. lol
Yeah I don't think it's a good idea to assign ethnicity to someone you've never met, especially based on a couple of seconds of audio from over 30 years ago. I'm partially Isleño and you'd never know based on how I look or speak. Isleños certainly exist here but so too do people from Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, and South America. There also isn't a monolithic "Spanish-speaking accent" so the portion spoken in Spanish, however confidently, should be more indicative of ethnic origin rather than an assumption based on a perceived Southern drawl.
I do though! She was born in Cuba and came here with our two sisters, my mom and my dad in 1966. We arrived in New Orleans and made our life there with many other Cuban families at that time that were escaping a deadly regime known as the Castro Brothers who assassinated many, many innocent people. The accent you hear in English is right from N.O. Where we grew up. We lived in uptown New Orleans and we went to the catholic schools in and around there. Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Stephen’s, De La Salle high school, Ursuline Academy ect. We all live away from New Orleans now but we still remember our great childhood!
@@MJ-qd2po OMG, my mind is blown! All them snarky folks who commented above can stuff it! 😄 How may I ask did you happen to find this conversation which I started last year?
@@MJ-qd2po Your stories about your sister are very sweet, thanks so much for sharing!
His enunciation improved
WITH NOOO PROBLEM!! 😃
I'm on dat dope, but I need dat furniture....."LET HER HAVE IT"
I want to smoke an FNJ right now
Hahaha hell yeah ... "LET HIM HAVE IT!"
But sir we're losing money, and going to have to file bankrupcy because people are not paying for the items we sold them on credit...
IRS - "Let em have it"
To watch
Why do I think the 3 rooms for $599 furniture would fall apart before you would ever pay it off?
Gimme that.
I love 😍 this commercial too!
Fn J
Fn yeah
Back in the good old days when people could have welfare
SHAZAM IS COMING!!!! ZOOLANDER 3 JAPANESE OGRE
Thank you bro
Habla con el Hombre Especial
Jajajaja claro que si, el hombre especial es el mejor 🤠
Are they still in business 😂?
According to Google Maps, unfortunately no. Building was completely overhauled into a clinic/nursing home facility.
They were until pretty recently. There is a news clip of the place, like two decades after they filmed this and one of the women acting in this was still working there!
@@taralen1101 thanks I was gonna ask same question. Do you know if it was the same business though and not bought by someone else?
@@jakeg3126 I don't, but I believe F&J still have other locations still open, but the one in this video, I assume for undisclosed reasons the business closed, and whichever company bought their lease space, is the new owners, and it could be a restaurant or barber shop or dry cleaners etc.
@@taralen1101 ok Thanks.
The other commercial is more funny
This is racist
Abdul, do you wanna elaborate
How is it? I might learn something.
