I can remember searching for Mike Israetel & happening upon your very first podcast a few days after it was released! I've been hooked ever since. Keep it up
As an Australian listener I am extremely impressed by Dr Mike's impression of my people!! Spot on, 10 out of 10!! Thanks Pascal and Steve, this podcast has been incredible from the start and the content never disappoints!!
How does this Channel only have 30k subs? This is free top level education from leaders in the sports science field! This is like college for bros right on your phone for free! Should be like 2 million subs
Wow! Steve/Pascal, I started watching the podcasts at around episode 20 or so, I watched them all! This is a big milestone! I learned so much from them and I want to thank you for all the free information (probs to all the guests, especially Mike of course). No #posttraining for me this time, took a really low volume month, I needed a meantal break from training, I'll probably get back in 1-2 weeks but for now it's information time!!
Not knowing when to take a break and why has been hands down the biggest impediment to my progress. There are so many things given on how to train, but hardly anything on how you need to give your body a break in order to advance! Awesome vid! ...And the Australia accent was bloody attrocious! Lol. You have to speak with balls!
Great material as always Steve. Congrats on the 100th episode and here's hoping for 100 more! It would be good to hear Mike and Eric flesh out their training approach during cuts at some point. I understand they now favour keeping volume up but I'm unclear on the specifics. Do they for example maintain the volume-load total (sets x reps x load), but decrease load whilst increasing sets and/or reps to achieve this, or something else?
What I like is a full training week and every 5th week. However, of course this can look quite different for other people but as a general rule of thumb - Pascal
I gotta agree with Eric and mike on this one. Reactive deloads do seem to require a more hands-on coaching perspective. Planned deloads are good for a simple guy like me.That being said I agree with menno on a wide variety of topics and watch or read a lot of his content. All of them are great guys.
good timing on this episode btw. my deload was planned for next week after a mesocycle in which i trained in about a 30% calorie deficit. i was wondering if i should stay hypocaloric through the deload but it seems iso makes more sense.
Steve what do you think about reverse pyramid training, i see ur not using it at all, do you think it o ly works on high responders to low volume and high intensity?
My thoughts during cutting is that sets of 12-20 waste reps because you won't reach 80% of momentary maximum force until you have done until you've already done 5-10 reps which means you needlessly deplete muscle glycogen. Going straight to 6-8 reps probably doesn't waste any glycogen on unproductive volume.
Thanks Theo (It's Theo Basher, isn't it? ;)) Anyway, yeah, as long as it's appreciated. I mean, we're investing a lot of time and work to make this happen and it's free info for you guys :)
It was an interesting conversation. I learned a lot from the episode, maybe most important is that you may blow your MRV listening to metal and getting pumped during sessions, but you may also blow a disc listening to Mike during sessions.

Massive thanks! And there'll be more!
Amazing channel! Still can't believe it hasn't got 100,000+ subs
Haha, we're nearly there...only 90k to go, haha
It's disheartening to see channels like these struggling to get more subscribers... And lots of garbage out there get so much views.
How does this Channel only have 30k subs? This is free top level education from leaders in the sports science field! This is like college for bros right on your phone for free! Should be like 2 million subs
Haha, we hope to make it to that number one day :D Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!
- Coach Jess
Absolutely great! So cool to see these guys do a round table and being so generous with their time. Much appreciated!
These roundtables are so informative... Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

Great episode. Congrats on 100
Thanks Brett!
OMG I've been waiting for soo long to this episode. Currently listening in the army trying to maintain the most I have
Yes yes yes!
It’s interesting to hear Mike’s opinion on Fitbit back then, and seeing him using it regularly now.
I don't remember his opinion back then nor how he 's using it now, but pretty sure there is a rationale behind it haha
- Coach Jess
Congrats on 100th. Great episode.
Thanks Emily :)

Ooooo Nice. thank for the upload.
Enjoy!
Great video, I've been looking for some of the info I got in this video!
Perfect timing then I guess :)
How long should a deload be? And how often Should you have them? I may have missed that timestamp
What I like is a full training week and every 5th week. However, of course this can look quite different for other people but as a general rule of thumb

Hearing the Existentialism in these thinkers leads me to believe all their rooms are sorted. #TopLobster
12:58 made me laugh! I always thought Helms resembled Cap lol
Awesome! Thanks guys :)
Thanks Kelly!
Good to see you around :)
I'm also quite interested in Menno's way of deloading for powerlifting. Does any one know his methods for this?
I gotta agree with Eric and mike on this one. Reactive deloads do seem to require a more hands-on coaching perspective. Planned deloads are good for a simple guy like me.That being said I agree with menno on a wide variety of topics and watch or read a lot of his content. All of them are great guys.
I think, that's the spirit! Acknowledging what others have to say and then find out what works for you.
good timing on this episode btw. my deload was planned for next week after a mesocycle in which i trained in about a 30% calorie deficit. i was wondering if i should stay hypocaloric through the deload but it seems iso makes more sense.
Amazing! Thank you Steve 💪
And thank you too
and It's here!!!
it is!
Thank you , Thank you and Thank you Guys
aaaand thank you too!
52:21 - 52:26 aussie accent on the money 😂
Approved by many by now, hehe
- Pascal
This. Is. Awesome.
Hell yeah!
Fantastic episode guys
Thanks a tonne Alex!
Steve what do you think about reverse pyramid training, i see ur not using it at all, do you think it o ly works on high responders to low volume and high intensity?
It's a programming tool. Nothing more, nothing less.
A few timestamps missing at the end :-P
Haha, shit, you're right^^
- Coach Pascal
great guys thanks
Thanks Vegeta. Always good to see you checking in
I think the real talk starts at 57:00 😉🤣

I know and that's why I love to support ReviveStronger so much ! A lot of my recent success comes from knowledge provided by you !
Thanks Theo (It's Theo Basher, isn't it? ;))
Anyway, yeah, as long as it's appreciated. I mean, we're investing a lot of time and work to make this happen and it's free info for you guys :)

You mean john Kiely?
Revive Stronger yeah got it now thanks!
I was in the middle of a squat wet at the end when they started talking about Fitbit and ferocious masturbation. I almost died.
Now you know what the next roundtable is about :D
It was an interesting conversation. I learned a lot from the episode, maybe most important is that you may blow your MRV listening to metal and getting pumped during sessions, but you may also blow a disc listening to Mike during sessions.
As an aussie, I can say that aussie accent was pretty accurate haha
So far, we had only positive confirmations ;P
Is Morocco the optimal place to hold my lovers hand?

Way to go
- Pascal

As an Australian, I have definitely heard worse accents than Mike's attempt there. Not bad.
Haha, I told Mike and Eric that some Australians already deemed it as acceptable ;P
Proxy of masturbation habits. I am dead. lmao
