    Grant, you should do a series where you scout a course thoroughly, play at least one practice round, then 18 at that course to try and give yourself an idea on your score with the same prep the pros get. Maybe a trusted caddy like Wes

      I was thinking the same. Most scratch golfers would be mind blown if they saw what they are capable of with a good caddy and proper preparation.
      The problem for UA-cam golf is that the creators feel like they have to always go for the big shots to entertain people.

    Another great video Grant. But I gotta tell you, you should have used the mulligan on the chip on the first hole. You could have easily cut the distance in half. And then made the putt. You are a really good putter but to be honest. A pro would have made the second putt when used as a mully. I still think you could make some tour cuts though. Especially if you had a seasoned caddy that could provide better club selection at times. Just saying

    I've become pretty familiar with your game after watching you for couple years now and the biggest holes I noticed is 1. Hammered putts here and there although your comebackers are top tier and 2. Trying to manufacture a shot when you can just play your natural shot shape to a decent spot instead of going for the ideal play.

    @8:30 I would say strokes gain happens on the approach shots. If you are way outside 10 feet all the time, your putting isn't going to save you; you'll shoot in the mid 70s. But, if you stick it to 10 feet all the time, you are in the 60s. Look at Fat Perez. He throws darts at the flag all the time. But...when he's off on his approaches...he's 4-5 over par.

    Grant doing his best George B impersonating with the positive vibes and I like it. Swing is good enough to play on tour. Tighten up wedges a bit and fix putter a tad. That putter looks a little short putting with a claw grip. Also get a little stronger but don’t overdo it.

    My man Grant… I think you should have taken that Mulli oomph the 1st tee and used it on the chip shot! I can’t remember if it was Jack or Arnie but after a round after missing a lot of putts they were asked what do they need to do to fix their putting… the answer… “hit it closer”… on that chip shot… you could have hit that closer after seeing your first one and made an easy bird… more so on Par 5’s then anything of course

Either go in with no expectations, or shoot for the stars. Grant could've easily locked in for 6 or 7 under this video. Keep up the great golf, bro!

    Great video! I think this only proves the research that Mark Broadie with strokes grain. PGA tour professionals are leaps and bounds better with their approach shots even compared to scratch golfers. Proximity to to the hole is everything. The farther you’re off the tee and closer you are on you 2nd/3rd shots improve your score drastically

    • @back2back379
      @back2back379 6 місяців тому

      Yes. I think Grant could do pretty well with his shots off the tee on Par 4s and Par 5s, but the pros are going to get their approach shots closer on average, they're going to get their shots around the green closer on average, they're going to get their long distance putts closer on average, and they're going to make a far higher percentage of their putts that are around 5-8 ft.
