You have to have a giant set of balls and real driving skill to drive the Alaska highway in winter. With a truck camper. With a trailer. Well done brother.
Sans trailer brakes
Especially on mud tires of all things hahaha
Not that hard really. Just need to have a plan. And plenty of backups inb case a emergency. A backup for your backup for your backup. Plus he can live in the truck for weeks at a time.
@@helium5912 Can't wait to see your video doing it
Keep em’ coming, Timothy. I watch 💻 👀 everyday. 😃👍
I've come to love this channel. Timmy, you're living my absolute dream life, so keep it up, brother! I really appreciate everything you do.
Hey brother something to think about, you always at the very least want to start your truck and make sure your oil pressure is up before ever starting that high idea, never a good idea before it fires and i would recommend letting it run at least a min or so first, for the love of power strokes lol
i personally used to turn it on 2 times letting it warm the plugs up and pump fluids a little then start it up
Technically it wouldn't start without oil pressure, but yeah... It hurts seeing it go straight into high idle like that.
@@Thatsoverrated i cant argue lol im in socal not even in the snow and still did it lol 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ guess im preparing haha
You know, when you kept seeing that Raven, it made me think of my brother when he had passed away. Since that day, I've always seen a huge Raven everywhere I went. A week later, my sister in law passed also, and then there were always 2 Ravens everywhere I went. I thought of him each time you showed your Raven and just knew that your step dad had passed. My brother even died off pancreatic cancer. Brightest Blessings of Healing Love and Light surround you 💫✨️💫
I can picture the band members watching the vids and hoping like hell you make it on time. 👀🖥= 🎶🍾
I like the way that when things go wrong (and they inevitably do), you take it in stride. You don’t stomp off swearing and lamenting like it’s the end of the world. It’s like “bummer, that sucks”, and you press forward. Keeping the stress levels down. We could all take a lesson from that.
I agree. You gotta do that if you are going to live life on the road like that.
What a journey! Bringing back so many memories of my '06 bike trip. I made it to Tok from Kentucky in 8 days, was so elated to be in AK! Treated myself to a motel room for the first time on the trip. Hot meal and a few drinks at the bar. Now I know what it looks like in winter, thanks for that. Roll on!
Congrats. Quite a feat.
Sorry about your step Dad Timmy! I just lost my Mom on January 9th :'( I feel your pain bro
Sorry to hear that man.
Still amazes me, Alaska! I was just eight years old when Alaska became the 49th US State. It was a very big deal, in 1959. Many Americans thought it a useless aquisition, other than to keep an eye on the Russians, lol. Alaska is a gem and it's hard to believe after all these decades, it has only a population of less than 750,000 residents not counting the bears, as of the 2020 census. For those brave residents, wild & rugged, yet a paradise!
From one Tim to another this is turning into my fav channel.
I like ending on the moment of truth, leaves a cliffhanger effect, even tho we know it Starts
Good Morning from NC.
There is no such thing as sleeping in too much when you're driving that many hours per day! Kluane Lake is so beautiful. Woo hoo!!!!! Back to Alaska! 👍😎🦅☕🇨🇦
Trip of a life time for me
I like your attitude Mr. Timmy. A broken mirror on the lemon-rai and you're just like, well, that sucks - ok movin' on!
“Wooh, it’s cold out there!” Might be the t-shirt you’re wearing. Alaskans are hearty. 💪
Our Rock band drove the Alcan in 1983. Kluane lake was beautiful. Miles of gravel and acres of forest fire remnants. It was the first time my Brother and I returned. We were both born in Anchorage. He in 1961, me in 1962.
Nothing like coming back home. As much as I love traveling and seeing some amazing places, there’s just nothing like Ak!
fact!
Like all the info will be hitting back Next Month to Alaska see You down the Open road😊
that's a really cool set up you got there
Just channel surfing on you tube but was really stuck on watching your trip adventure. Awesome stay safe. God bless
You have the same tinacity and positive outlook that Foresty Forest has. No wonder you are blowing up on UA-cam! Congrats on all your successes. It’s been exciting to watch.
Thanks:)
perfect brother
Enjoy the video? I LOVED it. Awesome journey Timmy, well done !!!
That feeling of being home is the best feeling
Just amazing, thank you Sir . 🤲❤, Amen. Love Jen
Woo hooo, what an epic road trip......Now is all we have, so make it an adventure to remember. My heart goes out to you Tim 💔 Lost my Dad last year.....the Circle of Life keeps on rolling. 🌎🌞
I was on that highway and its very very beautiful. Love the videos.
I just filled up my Forester. 52l of 98 Octan gas. 1,929€/liter (2,79can$/liter)
Your a beast, I was just complaining a little to myself because the high today was 53. Lol stay warm and thanks for sharing your adventures.
Great video. Timmy, as much as you like your coffee you need you a Yeti. Warm coffee for hours.
Thanks for taking me on your road trip 👍🥃🇨🇦
Heading into Alaska my truck broke down just out side of White Horse. I Stayed the night in the truck woke up at 2Am with the best view of the north lights I have ever seen!
Definitely want to get some mudflaps installed on the rig. It'll save your paint, and whatever you're towing.
It’s funny to me that you use the same anti gel diesel additive that I do, but you should be adding it before you fuel so that the process of fueling mixes it thoroughly. May be less of a problem for smaller tanks, but that’s the way we do it with over 200 gallon capacity. Anyways, thanks for sharing your travels and adventures. I’m enjoying them immensely. 👍
going over that bridge looked so cool...uphill into the clouds! You make great videos!
Thanks man!
this is a good adventure! can’t wait to celebrate each new destination!
Hey Timmy! We got blizzards snow here where i live and watching you drive the alaska highway in the winter gave me the courage to venture out to my friends house in the next town over to get some weed cause im out of weed thanks for the motivation to brave the blizzard roads LOL :)
I don't want to say that Sammy is cursed buuuttt.......
Those frost heaves at the end are world famous glad you made it through Canuckistan with no major issues.
Watching this, one can really appreciate the magic of modern air travel when it takes just a little more than 2 1/2 hours to fly from Seattle to Anchorage sipping coffee. Let that sink in for a bit.
yup!
Its like the endless sketchy but badass drive. lol. Well dont portryaing how far of a drive it is. Im looking at it on a map right now. lol.
Glad you made it back to AK safe.
I'm looking forward to seeing the sami out in the snow. Good looking little truck.
Timmy you should stop in Haines ask thst is the home Parker Schnabel
from the tv show gold rush
I worked in Whitehorse back in late 70s when pipeline was a big deal. Yeah, the wonderfully Wilderness is a perfect isolator.
Truck is running great!! Roll on !!
Ya almost there!! Inches away!! Can't stand the wait, you're teasing us Timmy. I'll woohoo right along with you when you reach that pivotal point! 🤩
Fast Eddy’s in Tok!
Man, we’d always hit it when driving to/from UAF and going to Valdez to ski and climb. Still there. Awesome.
Get yourself a Yeti travel mug. Worth every penny 😊
We lived In cantwell alaska my mom dad and 5 kids what an adventure,I still miss alaska.
Yes ANC is a long way (my son lives there). I flew from JFK to MSP, then MSP to ANC. MSP to ANC was the same as JFK to LAX!
Hey Timmy that when you Need mud flop in the back of your truck when towing but all good. From fairbanks AK.
Hey Timmy, it is a real treat to drive through Canada, it is one of the most beautiful drives there are. I will tell you, the services were very few and far between. I remember carrying 5 gallon jugs of gas on top of my car because, the services were just not there. I have not been to Tok in many years and the last time there, not so many lights, lol. I need to take a trip up that way again. Thanks for videoing this trip. Looking forward to your snowmachine rides.
New drinking game: Take a shot every time he says "freaking". ;) I always enjoy the videos. Subbed...
lol
Mud flaps for your truck would be helpful.
Enjoyed again Timmy
THANKS
Welcome Home!
Fun Trip videos to watch..
Im a Canadian who has driven in Snow etc... But What and How you are driving In !! Wow ..
Very Cool ..
Be Safe
What an awesome channel! That drive was something I’ve never seen nor know anyone who’s experienced it.
Thanks man!
Welcome back to Alaska!
Nice Ford diesel 👍
Good old Beaver Creek! Lol Travelled same road winter 2011 nothing but valley after valley winter wonderland had no idea how remote some of these places were a couple of cabins in between Hanes and Beaver Creek just amazing. We did a job for the Canadian Customs building . We put a new above ground tank in for heating oil to heat building if ya noticed pulling up? I remember eating at Buckshot Betty's in Beaver Creek she's quite the lady ..lol
Thanks for another great video, now I understand why you off-set the steps to the rear porch !
yup!
Good stuff Timmy... Keep em coming!
Thanks for sharing your trip!
Luck to you. That's a long ass drive, especially by yourself.
. I'm no mechanic but I usually leave switch tanks at a quarter then run the other one to a half then start looking for fuel I think the mechanic said it's bad on the fuel pumps to not be cooled by the fuel just an FYI great Journey
Instant like status achieved Timmy,Video starts I hit thumbs up homie.
lol
After that drive putting rig on a barge and ship it !
Like your videos a lot! What's the metal element in the middle of your coffee cup that you are pouring over? Hmm! Thanks so much for these videos.
Viatnamese coffee dripper;)
The Ravens are your caretakers on this trip!
Hey Timmy. You should consider getting Fluid Film undercoating spray put on your truck to protect against corrosion from the salt. It’s a oil wool wax based film that protects your undercarriage against the salt corrosion. I have a video of it being put on my truck on my UA-cam channel. I’ve been using it for years.
Thanks for the view in Haines Junction on Kluane Mountain range 🤩!
You should get mud flaps for your truck.
Keep ‘em coming Tim. I enjoy every one. Makes me wanna drive the Alaska Hwy, though I think I’ll wait till spring if I do. Great stuff.
Did you know that a lot of major truck stops
Put the additives in their fuels during winter months
Of course it’s better to be safe than sorry
I might try that run if they move on to the next scam before next summer. I drove up in 2009 was a nightmare at the borders. Can't imagine tryingvto drive through with Convid.
Sweet trip, thanks for letting us tag along
Awesome you made it!
This journey has been epic! One of the best i have watched on youtube in a long time, it will he hard to top this one hehe. Thank you for all the video and ideas i enjoy this very much and it makes me get out in the mountains near us and explore. Stay healthy!
Great videos, look forward to each new episode. Keep living the life. At one point in my life, I had the opportunity to live three years on the road. Keep on trucking my man.
I'm hooked on your videos
The scenery is unreal!
Your trip has been very fun and exciting to ride along with you.we did the alaska highway trip back in july 2018.. it was fantastic. We left michigan then to montana then to alaska and back ...11000 miles and $3300.00 diesel fuel.cant wait to do it again..love your videos they are fantastic🥰🥰🥰🥰
Oh yeah, Fast Eddy's! Good food man...
Timmy! @ 2:27 ish you mention your speedometer being faster. I cant remember what year truck you have, but i might know why. Bigger tires ( then stock) will mess with the speedo. There is a fix, and all you have to is reprogram your PSOM ( search psom programming on UA-cam. ) there are a few videos...i cant find the one im thinking of or i would have linked it for you. NOTE: you can only reprogram it 5 times. Hopefully yours has one or two left to do this with. If i find the video i mentioned ill be back. Best of luck from a fellow 7.3 owner.
right on
Found it. ua-cam.com/video/arN0LqKZGdo/v-deo.html .
My advice: do all the research you can...making sure your ring gear numbers match whats in the video. I was incorrect ( sort of) you only have 6 resets. EVER. Good luck.
Enjoying ur vids bro.
I appreciate that
Excellent. I've a '96 F250 auto 7tree. I haven't looked but, do you have a vid on all the mods you've done to yours. Every fill up you use the antigell additive. Plus how many miles on the old girl. Love my truck, my epbv started leaking and I just completed a DYI delete. Having a epbv is to warm up the oil faster. It's definitely louder not having that butterfly valve in it now. I also noticed that the turbo spools up faster for better acceleration.. Lastly, listing the towns or destinations on what hwy/trail is of interest, cuz I use Google Earth to follow your travels. I have several individuals that I follow and check out the topography... future planning towing my '65 Scout to off road adventures.. like your Sammy...
Long trip home, it was over a month ago
🇬🇧😎🤟☝️yo Timmy hope to catch you! Dave🇬🇧🇬🇧
👍🏻🤠🇬🇧Epic awesomeness of an adventure Timmy loved it you have shown me some amazing things my friend THANKYOU 🤩🤩🤩🇺🇸🇺🇸am enjoying this Alaska Highway run appreciate your efforts to keep us entertained my friend 🇬🇧🤠👍🏻💯💯🚣🏼♀️🚣🏼♀️🙏Dave [RC Overland Dave] in Cornwall 🇬🇧
That diesel price isn't that bad. Works out to $4.62 USD per gallon. Is $4.00 in Tucson. $4.90 in Wikieup between Phoenix and Kingman and $5.20 in downtown San Francisco.
Thanks!
Thank you Dale!
Waiting Patiently my friend!✌️❤🤘
Dude, look at all the views!
nice Timmy!...I'm making my first ever drive down to the lower 48 in May....planning the same route you took. I'm flying my Tacoma out of the bush (which i had barged straight to Bethel in 2018), hope to return to this beautiful state some day via the hwy....I love the open road. I'll be in Anchorage/Kenai peninsula the first week of May...be great to grab a beer if you're around. Peace out Timmy
Nice maybe cya out there!
Tim, you need a $15 wireless indoor outdoor thermometer.
"clue on ee" is how they say the lake. That is the part I dislike the most, Destruction bay to Beaver creek.
Cool
