It actually makes the measurements easier. The exterior side of the panels keep their original size. Its just the inside of the panels that will be a little shorter. It really only works if both sides of each seam are trimmed so they fit flush. Then you are left with a really tight fitting lid.
Mate2Frio Hi, thanks! Yes we do have additional video we are going to post. We are going to post pictures/video of us covering the yurt in billboard vinyl as well. More coming soon!
Excellent angle cutting hack. Thanks for sharing.
Did the beveling affect the measurements for the roof? If you're cutting off an inch or so on every side of the walls, would it make the roof too big?

In this video you can see how all the seams are tight against each other making a well sealed yurt. ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=ZRkdHT53sGY
Wonderful. Do you bevel the rood edges as well?
Yes. The only edges we did not bevel are the edges that are touching the ground. This way ever seam has two beveled edges that fit perfectly together.
Good job. Any videos of the finished hexayurt?

That'll be great. I've subscribed. Is that 3in insulation?
Mate2Frio It's actually 2in R-Max. Sorry for the delay in new videos. We're having to redub the sound. They'll be up soon. Thanks for watching!
Ed Whatduck Any updates? Pics?
