Lmao, proof insurance is just a scam and doesn't do anything.
No one goes into business with the goal of losing money.
@@perrysanders9998 and that has what to do with scams?

They probably wouldn’t insure a boat that has holes on the bottom either. This just proves that people who buy land in dangerous are irrational.
Lol, do you guys actually think insurance pays you full and takes care of you guys? Or do you just pay money for nothing?
Lmao they don’t care they want all of you to move closer to the city so you can rent instead and never own anything and like it
Agenda 2030
That’s the plan. Single family homes will be the old, apartments and condos are on the rise. Rental income and HOA fees are the money makers for businesses. Property taxes will continue to make money for the govt due to the high principal and elimination of section 8.

And since you have your have insurance if you have a mortgage it will be harder for you to buy a house. 15 minute cities is where they want us and out if the rural areas. It is getting harder and harder for the people out here in the rural parts of San Bernardino to get homeowners insurance or it has gone so sky high that people can’t afford it and they just cancel it. So what is this emergency gonna do?
It's definitely an emergency.... no insurance seems like a better deal honestly

Yes they have. Trying to cancel us. We did the maintenance they wanted and they stated we were renewed. We only had ONE claim in twenty eight years. Not a single fire either.
Maybe the news should play the open MIC of the insurance executive who bragged about the way they were moving forward in Ca.
Must have told the truth about a democrat run city! LOL!!!
This is also happening to states that are prone to hurricanes or tornadoes. Insurance companies' only goal is to maximize profit, so they are minimizing their losses.
The goal of every business!
It's a private business so I mean that's no surprise...
It's not a charity organization.
But the fact that they can pick and choose who to insure pretty much makes the whole business of insurance pointless, which is the main point.
The fact that they are trying to make money is a given, since it's a BUSINESS.
I feel as though we’re going to end up in a place similar to healthcare. Government funded with almost forced tax payer participation that makes the entire product unaffordable to those not wanting to buy in and be apart of the communal system. CA already loves throwing out the “fair plan” which is expensive to most and covers the bare minimum.
@@SiegeAM That's probably how it'll turn out...
An obamacare but for home insurance.
I mean it's either that, or a FEW number of people paying exorbitant rates for their coverage so it will make sense for the insurance company to even cover them.
OR mandate it across the entire state and everyone pays.
Which one is "right", well that's gonna depend on each person's situation, needs, and politics.
There is no right answer. It's just whether you stand to gain, or lose, from it.

The insurance companies know that these annual wildfire burns aren't stopping anytime soon
Gavin Newsom should implement controlled fires to get rid of dead evasive dry brush. Environmental groups that push laws to not have fire has destroyed the state. Native Americans have already practiced controlled fires if they didn’t they would all day in one huge blaze
Well people were popping off firecrackers when we had an active firewatch warning throughout the state, so can you blame them.
People just don't listen and expect someone to take care of them.
Yep and the homeless will continue to start the fires.
I think Homeowners insurance should be included in our property taxes. Insured for the amount of assessment. I pay $1400 a year insurance and $12K a year property taxes. Seems like homeowners insurance could easily be included at no additional cost in property taxes. I feel like I am being punished for owning a home with the high taxes. I'm ok with the sewer and water, mosquito abatement, and trash in my property taxes so why not add in homeowners insurance ? I am in Palm Desert CA
Sure. How about adding basic income, homes for illegals, free food for all, condos for the homeless, full-fledged rent control, and hey --why not a $50 minimum wage, reparations, and guaranteed retirement at 55? I mean, why stop with what you mentioned? Go for it all, man! There's PLENTY of money to go around
Sounds nice: "homeowners insurance could easily be included at no additional cost in property taxes" I don't think so. Also if it's totally government ran, isn't that too controlling and invasive?
😂😂 depending on Ricardo Lara and Newsom? Good luck lol
Big big problem with all the insurance companies exiting California. What are we supposed to do and the insurance we run to is costing us an arm and a leg. Frustrating
New California all the way!
Let's face it, the government will insist that your home valuation is $890,000(boost tax revenue) but the insurance companies are not buying into that. What kind of moron buys a pair of sneakers for $400 when they are just a pair of sneakers? Thousands of people are paying million dollar real estate taxes on $400,000 homes.
The California insurance commissioner’s office already made a deal with said companies and we can expect to see 2-3 policy hikes this year alone. The commissioner’s office canceled a public hearing on the matter the day after cutting those deals. How do I know, a good friend is an executive with Mercury and flat out told me so!!
30% increase in premiums, right?
Los Angeles in its entirety calls for a crisis emergency declaration
Is it just CA's insurance commissioner incompetence or an insurance industry power grab?
It’s insurance companies greed
We live in NorCal and after 20 years of never being late on a premium payment, and no claims. 4 years ago we got a letter saying they were dropping us. Called our Agent, he said many companies doing it and pulling out of Ca all together.
Shopped us around to 25 plus carriers. Nobody would take it. We now get insurance through the states. “Fair plan “ act
Greedy corps been pulling in money all these years, now that they got to pay out some, they are taking there ball and going home.
So what would an emergency declaration trigger happening ? The state , taxpayers, would subsidise it ?
Whenever government steps in, yes the taxpayers will have be involved somehow.
Can you imagine a government run insurance company... every claim will be paid out so as not to offend any non White and or alphabet persons.
When government steps in to fix something, they fix it with your money.

This is Only the Beginning of this Nightmare…
I live in LA. 5 yr old paid off car, clean record, minimal miles driven for me to see a $500 price hike and 2 month up front payment on demand at renewal. Homeowners policy with same company went up $400 this year. At this rate, I'll have no choice but to sell my home and move out of California in order to afford to retire. I hate when people make every conversation about politics, but at this point...I'd vote to anyone who can regulate these big corps and bring all Americans some relief. Oh wait. ABSOLUTELY NO POLITICIAN would be willing to do that.

31 years home owner and no claims ever made...paid 300 for years. Now in a 125k manufacturered home on 2 acres and insurance wanted 2000 a year, two years ago. Called to see if I could get lower limits and higher deductible, left message with broker. They did not return a call after several messages. Now I have no insurance, sure it's a risk but one worth taking at these prices. Home is paid off, otherwise not possible to run naked.
I'm just worried about the earthquake.
Experts have stated the odds of a 8.0 magnitude earthquake hitting between 2010~2030 is 75%.
It's 2024 right now. Which means we have less than 6 yrs left within that projected timeframe.
If and when it does happen, gas, water, power lines will be compromised, and pretty much the whole state will be paralyzed for months.
First responders will be overwhelmed.
And if the house is damaged, the labor to fix the house will be practically impossible to find.
I'm just thinking of a way to get out of this place before the inevitable.

Dad and Mom had 2 homes and never had house insurance. Yes, I have insurance, but they keep an eye on your overgrown trees, trim, or we will cancel insurance.
In areas where there is greater risk to homes, cheaper homes should be built. It's obvious. There is no sense in over-investing where your investment is at great risk. More focus should be on containing costs, and more of the build cost should be focused on resiliency features rather than convenience or luxury features. Failure to recognize this obvious truth will just result in financial ruin over the long term. Reality can only be denied for so long.
Nothing is cheap in California. There's no such thing as a cheap home or affordable housing when the cost of living is through the roof.
By the way you contradicted yourself... resilient buildings (resistant to fires, floods, and earthquakes) cost more. The only way you can make it cheaper is by forced labor.
It's frustrating that insurance companies like State Farm pay their agents high wages, while customers face increasing costs to insure their homes. State Farm should reconsider the high salaries paid to their agents, some of whom earn over $500k and fall into high tax brackets, while average homeowners bear the financial burden. They need to come to medium where their agents don’t get a kick back while the average home owner suffers..
Rates have been increasing at alarming rates the past 6 years tho
Insurance companies are out of control. Insurance companies are the richest companies in the World and insure against high costs if disasters, that is until disaster happens and they have to cover the costs for once and they freak out ...this was the reason they collected all of everyones premiums regularly during the disaster free decades as the money grew interest. Its akin to a casino refusing pay after years of your losing money in their casino for years only to deny payout once you win big only its alot worse and tacky. The companies are to ensure replacement of items insured, afterall this is their business plan... 'Allstate' should be forced to change their name to 'SOMEstates' or 'Selected States'. Next insurance companies will see the massive loss of premiums they aren't getting now and will file bankruptcy.
You will own nothing, and you will be happy. Or else!
Greetings, good morning darlings 🌞 Yeah, an insurance company cancelled my policy they should return all my money since no claims were ever honored for all the theft that has occurred with my personal property if they cancel they should refund all the money, I agree is a scam for their own personal gain

Whats up w Cali & insurance companies demanding you chop down all your living trees to get homeowners ins ? Healthy trees produce oxygen.. wth is really going on ?
Insanity.
Greed. They just want the most money possible.
no trees reduce liability, if not go it alone with no insurance, mortgage holder wouldn't allow that!
Yep, I live in Arrowhead. They made us cut down any tree less than 6ft tall a couple years ago. Total b.s.
So insurance companies have become the new HOA
HOs in South Lake Tahoe and Northern Nevada are affected, too.
Evers since the government mandated everyone has to buy vehicle insurance (in the 80s?) it has given all insurers IMPRISONED CUSTOMERS. Resulting in LESS insurance for a lot MORE MONEY and homeowners' insurance is no different. My homeowners doubled this year because my roof is ten years old (seriously WTF). I own one rental and the insurance has tripled since purchasing it just 3 years ago in NEW MEXICO. This cost is passed on to renters. Rent raises that go into corporation's pockets not property owners just to stay afloat.
Americans need to understand our government puts corporations before all people. Insurance companies making their own rules to gouge American was created and is protected by the government. The same government that allowed corporations to buy up millions of starter homes as a result of the pandemic. literally creating a "perceived" housing shortage overnight which in fact is corporations hoarding real estate to resell at grotesque prices. THAT RESULTS IN HIGHER TAXES THAT GO DIRECTLY INTO STATE and local GOVERNMENT COFFERS. Biden or trump won't be helping to rectify the situation. You need Robert Kennedy Jr for this which is why he does not have corporate sponsors and neither candidate will debate him or allow him to compete.
Since 2010 corporations have been given the right to donate as much $$$$$ as they want to politics by a conservative supreme court. The government calls this Bulls8 'corporate personhood' giving our individual rights as real people to all corporations. Eliminating the need for voters' financial backing and putting CORPORATIONS IN THE RULING CLASS OVER WE THE PEOPLE. What the court gave IDIVIDUAL PEOPLE was the right to sue these rich corporations on our own dime, NOT EXACTLY A FAIR POWER DYNAMIC. Making politicians dependent on corporations instead of the people. All politicians need from voters is a vote that they are legally allowed to lie and misrepresent to get said vote. LIKE TAKING CANDY FROM A BABY.
The only shot voters have at this time in the fight against corporations is RFK Jr all the way who is running on this very premise. Is it any wonder that media corporations and journalist won't acknowledge him properly.
Seriously? This constitutes an emergency now?

Fire home insurance is crazy expensive now. Everyone leaving California. Will prevent people from affording a home even more
Home insurance being stabilized?, This really shows how expensive housing is that if they were to be properly insured that people would be out of their home.
The TV ad right after this showed an emu pimping auto insurance.
We should not be footing the bill with increased/ canceled premiums for people who choose to live in multi million dollar homes on a cliff over looking the ocean or in the foothills/ mountains where it is prone to fire. They should be required to be self insured for 60% of the replacement value of their homes.
The expensive homes are not the issue.

So glad I left. Californians voted for this by letting a supermajority run the state. Just a note. If you plan to leave California, please do not vote to turn your new home into what you ran from.
Or at least stay in your lane. Punch the blue chad, OR, WA, NV, CO is where you want to be.
Calif will have to self insure with a rider on the bottom side...to cover the huge losses. That means an Insurance Co covers the huge losses.... and the pot of funds that calif collects fr Insurance pays the smaller losses. L
"Stabilized"? Meaning subsidized? Meaning, force insurers to operate at a loss? What does "stabilized" mean?
Tax payers eat it
Seems like BS. In CA, the insurance industry total revenue is $90 billion per year. Their collective "loss ratio" is 63%. They're pocketing 37% of people's premiums. Now granted, they have to pay salaries and rent and such, but $33 billion in gross profit is nuts. Meta/facebook has a lower gross profit lmfao, and they don't replace houses and operate globally, not just in CA.
They also have to prepare for future claims/disasters
I love it when people spout nonsense proving they have no clue whatsoever about the subject.
So what?, it's insurance. You got to pay the going rate.
Eh... insurance companies are not offering services. A "going rate" is meaningless if there's no product to buy.
