Not sure about the Mooer but in a shootout with the Boss GT-1 and the NUX MG 300, the Valeton GP-100 was the only unit that has the capability of toggling individual pedals on and off with the footswitch. That seems like something all of these pedals should do but apparently not.
Just wanted to say thanks for the videos. Been binging lots of budget reviews and realized that over half of the videos I clicked on in search were you (good job on the seo 👍🏻 don’t touch anything! lol) I’m a very new guitar player. Only started playing acoustic 16 months ago when I needed to step in and lead worship temporarily at church. Turns out I wasn’t so bad and it’s now become my full time thing. Now I’m wanting to branch out into electric guitar and your videos have been an incredible help. Also, I’m going to be “one of those commenters” to say I really was shocked when I saw how small your channel is. You are a great example of “dress for the job you want, not the job you have”. Best of luck with the growth of the channel, the quality is top notch.
It's funny, they basically sound identical when the custom IR is put in. I think that goes for a lot of these floor modellers. The IRs are always the weakest part and as soon as you put your own in you're good to go no matter which you buy.
What's beautiful about this high gain speedmetal stuff is that all you really need is some eq to level the playing field. GP-100 is scheduled to arrive tomorrow so I'll be able to see what kind of dynamics and variety it has to offer, as well as some bass amp sims to mess around with some QOTSA sludge.
Just ordered the GP100. All I need is a reverb, overdrive, looper and tuner and theres no way you're getting all that in individual pedals anywhere near the price of this unit. The GP100's more rigid construction is what does it for me.
So far, my favorite amp sims in the GE150 have been the JCM900, the Black Knight and the SLO 100. I've been using just the GE150 into my Orange Pedal Baby for band practice and it's been absolutely face melting!
@@TaylorDanley The Pedal Baby 100 has been a total game changer for me. No more killing myself by hauling around my super heavy Blackheart 100w Tube head and cabinet. I changed to using the Pedal Baby after seeing CSGuitars review and breakdown. It was still a tough choice between that power amp or the SD Powerstage 170, the ISP Stealth but the Orange won out because of its power switch and neutral response which let my Mooer mini preamp pedal just shine for live shows. Since I found a great deal on the GE150, I figured that would be perfect to step into the world of multi effects. I set up about 4 custom presets based on song needs and haven't had to look back since. Just like you and several other reviewers have said, you HAVE to spend time tweaking settings to get your wanted tones and sounds but everything fitting on one pedalboard is so much easier and faster for set up and tear down. Now I have a portable rig to take back and forth from our practice space to home with no loss of sound quality in either location.
The Mooer throttles the Valeton with the stock IR's but I was surprised with the custom IR, they both sounded good but I still think the Mooer sounds more "real". I used a Fractal AX8 as my main rig and even with it the magic comes when you get the right IR into the mix, once you find your favourite IR any one of the high gain models can sound amazing (especially if you throw a geq after the preamp)
If anyone is thinking about Donner Vs Mooer... I just had the Mooer GE150 and the Donner Arena 2000 in the studio. I have to say that the GE150 sounds more believable to my ears. The quality of the amp models and effects sound better as well.
I've owned and tested, in multiple live situations, all of the different versions of this firmware build (for example, the Mooer GE150 is an exact clone of the Flamma FX100, but with a plastic housing). They all would be outstanding units, were it not for a couple of fatal, deal-breaking flaws that I've had the displeasure of experiencing while in live use. So, yeah...NOT good. The first problem I encountered was that, randomly, on some but not all banks where you build your own preset, the modulation effect will reset itself to maximum level, no matter where you set it when you built the preset. Yeah,I know. Weird! And their support team didn't know how to fix it. Again (let's see if I can explain this better): if you set up a preset with a modulation effect (flanger, let's say), and you set the level to "5", and saved it, here's what might happen on some (but again, not all) banks -- you'll turn off the unit, and then, when you turn it back on, the level on the flanger for that preset will reset itself to a level of "10". Have you ever hit a pedal in a live performance and had one of the values you thought you set to your preference be COMPLETELY out of whack? Yeah, it sucks. The second problem I've found is that the expression pedal can NOT be reliably set to any other values than the default of: Min=0%, Max=100%. This sucks because I, personally, like to set my volume pedals to Min=50%, Max=100%, so that I have a set rhythm volume (Min) and a set lead volume (Max). Easy, right? Well, these pedals don't seem to be able to do that. No matter how I've tried (and again, only on certain banks), it just goes backto factory default. So anyway, these are things you'll never hear from any of these gear review channels, because odds are, they don't actually use the gear they review enough to find all the practical flaws. What really irked me, though, is that the company's own support team was utterly clueless.

Thank you for comparing the mooer ge150 with the valeton gp-100. I think the mooer ge150's take on of the peavey 5150 sounded more raw and organic compared to valeton's take on the evh 5150. both sounded pretty good(especially with custom irs). but I think mooer is the winner for me when it comes to the 5150 model.
Surprisingly enough I actually enjoyed the stock IR’s compared to the custom one’s. The Mooer’s IR’s were definitely better than the Valeton’s though. So good to hear some Engl tones, am a huge fan of those amps. Had a Blackmore a while back and there wasn’t really much that amp couldn’t do tonewise.
I don't know about the Valeton, but the Mooer is definitely annoying. It sits well in the mix but the amp sims are not really so different from each other. Have to say I was a bit disappointed after swapping it against sth else, recently. Valeton seems to have a bit more resolution in the high frequencies. Mooer unfortunately has a quaky sound in all of the high gain models. Like a wah that's been added. Valeton might be a better choice. Both are no comparison to the latest software out on the market. Try Amplex from NaLex. The Engl Savage emulation is great.

Man, the Valeton 5150 preset was fizzy and missing a ton of mids and presence. Custom did well but the Mooer still sounded more mid focused and up front. More body I dunno
I just placed a order for the mooer ge100. I hope I did ok, I got mine for 86.00 usd shipped. I came across the 100 an I see there 135 on reverb. It had a metal case ,USB an Ir's. Man I think the interface vs the moore se100 will be similar. I think the case, uab an amp Sims will kick the one I ordered butt.
I thought the mooer sounded better, great job on the looped track, it defiantly showed the tonal differences in a variety of different ways. Great job Taylor, keep testing this shit, I love the idea of a small floor modeller, but can't wrap my head around only having a few buttons. I only use my high gain sound with maybe some reverb every once and a while and occasionally a clean. I know you don't really use any effects or anything, but do you find yourself still wanting that versatility in a small floor unit? it seems most these days are a three-button config.
I use effects quite a bit, so I for sure need that functionality. They both cover the basics for me, and the effects work fine. If you only need to switch on/off delay and reverb, you can assign the 2 foot switches in the stomp mode to those functions on the gp100.
To me the GE150 beat out the GP100. Oddly the Stock IRs on the Engl caught my ear the most. Customs made both sound closer but the Engl tone was pretty boss 🤘. Cheers Taylor!
valeton gp100 has global eq for frequency, Q(slope) and gain, low and high cut filters and 4 band eq at 100Hz, 500Hz, 1KHz and 5KHz. It comes up straight away when you press the global button!!
The MOOER sounded better to me. The GP100 sounded more compressed or something & the MOOER sounded more bright or clearer. Guess it just depends on how deep your pockets are on which one to get.
Valeton also have an Engl Savage emulation in their Coral Preamp pedal, which is basically a micro preamp, but with like 12 or 14 different channel emulations ranging from clean to crunch to high gain. Also I don't want to nitpick too much, but the third party IR you used here seems lack it was high passed a bit too much.
Possibly, I shot this a while ago so I cant remember why. Could have been some high end fizz on one of the units... neither have a global hi cut eq unfortunately.
Thanks man for this comparision, I think that Valeton sounds a little muddy, prefer Mooer clarity, a few years ago I was in a band called Beta Vulgaris where one of guitarist prefered muddy sounds and second clarity ,but together they sound perfect , try both in a mix. Excellent job!
I love your channel bro, I really do. I also love metal and all dub genres within. You play that genre well for sure. However, not everyone wants to play metal. Just a suggestion... but maybe when reviewing all of these items/gear... perhaps try and show various music genres in order to provide a clearer picture to those who may be wanting some of these items for other types of music. I say this because I recommended your channel to a friend of mine and when I asked what she thought about your channel, she replied... I like it, but Taylor seems to only review gear for metal music. Well chit ! Of course then I had to explain that the gear is not for metal only etc. . Very annoying when most of us experienced musicians obviously know that the gear can be used for many types of music. I suppose some people just fail to connect the together without someone clearly showing this. Anyhoo, rock on my man ! 🧑🎤🎶🎸🎶🕺

Hey can you make a review of the USB record out of the Hotone Ampero One? I’m planning to buy it and probably gonna use it as my main recording interface for demo tracks.
I never use the USB out to record. Not because there's anything wrong with it, it's just a pain to have my computer juggle around drivers. I'm actually dealing with it right now from trying to run a product using the asio4all driver, which really messed up my system. In all honesty, I always prefer having a dedicated interface and only using the usb for the editing software for this reason.
My GP-100 keeps disconnecting from the software. I don't know what's wrong but it doesn't seem to be a problem with the usb connection as I hear no disconnect-sound.
I need a Honest to god opinion. Lifes got me messed up but im a musician so i must spend lol. I noticed. The pedal chain on it. Is the sound quality good enough for me to use this for like a heavier distortion or like keep a phaser or temello set up on it?
With Stock IR's on 5150 I think Mooer sound a bit better, but with Custom IR's both are very similar. The stock IR's from valeton is not so good as Mooer IR's
they both sound pretty dynamic for the price just a bit of EQ difference that u can injust internally or with an extra pedal etc lower mids for valeton i hear more mids for mooer
I just got my GP100 a few days ago, and... Well it's awesome. The build quality and everything, the windows app, its all good really. However there's been only a few small details that kinda annoy me about it. THE EXPRESSION PEDAL! well its crazy how many stuff you can do with it, and it's awesome. But the thing is, it only fixes at 0 and 100. If u try to put it somewhere in between, it'll just jerk between the numbers non-stop u till you disable the expression pedal. And it sucks cuz each time the pedal CHANGES a value, on the windows app, you get zapped back to the effect that the pedal is tweaking with. And u CANNOT do anythinf untill the jerky move is stopped. It kinda sux. Cuz there is a CALIBRATION setting for the pedal too. But it wont work. The other issue with the pedal is, you got to press it REALLY HARDDDD to activate the EXPRESSION thing. Its like ypu cannot press it while sitting down. It's made for using it while standing. But i love it ☹️ cuz I've never had a pedal anyways. It sounds foken awesome tho.
This is what I would do.... Research the specific tone you are looking for. See if the GP100 emulates the same components, and dial them in. Adjust to your playing style. Don't have your expectations set to sound the same, you'll chase the tone forever... Just try to get in the ball park, and something that you are happy with.
Hi Taylor, just a point of clarification, does the valeton gp100 usb connection serves as the same connection to use as recording on phone? The mooer ge150 has an otg type b. What about with the gp100m? Is there a way to connect to the phone? Thanks. ✌️🤟
I get that you're a metal player, and only interested in the metal sounds. That's cool, but how about you just say at the start, or even better in the title, that you are only comparing metal tones. There is so much more to these boxes.
I bought this pedal which I do really like it. But I’m having a issue with mine my display screen went blank white screen but it still works I can still use it with the software on my computer so I can see the display. I also contacted VALETON about the issue with the display screen on my pedal going blank white screen they told me to replace the power supply I did and still didn’t fix my screen problem so I’m stuck with the pedal just can’t see any of pedal effects but I still like the pedal it’s really cool great video 👍😎🎸🤘

It happens. TBH, I couldn't find one I was 100% satisfied with so I just went with what I thought was a good compromise
@@TaylorDanley Just to be sure: it was not a complaint, but it did surprise me! Thanks for also throwing in some Engl sounds!
Man, the Valeton 5150 preset was fizzy and missing a ton of mids and presence. Custom did well but the Mooer still sounded more mid focused and up front. More body I dunno
Could you share again the IR you use in the video? Link doesn't work 🥺
I have a ge150 and i can't find a IR that make it sound like I want. Thank you.
Thanks bro. I needed this.
🙌
@@TaylorDanley BTW does the mooer have a pitch shifter?
please do try a Video of Multi-Effects units through FRFR Speakers (Headrush, etc) thanks! 😊
These versus TH-U boyo?
Witch is better for you bro ? Tanks for the video. Awesome. ❤
It's doable, it takes a few more patches and planning, though.
Thank you bro 😎🙌
Welcome 👍
To me the GE150 beat out the GP100. Oddly the Stock IRs on the Engl caught my ear the most. Customs made both sound closer but the Engl tone was pretty boss 🤘. Cheers Taylor!
Thanks buddy! I gotta be honest, I used that savage patch so much back in the day, that maybe I'm just better at dialing it in haha.
@@TaylorDanley Nice, Savage confirmed! 🤘
Whoah da WAR has just begun! MooerGE150 × Ampero-one × ValetonGP100 × NuxMG300 . . . Next content fo those tiny mod. :D!
hey! man! it a very cool, the best compartion! nice man!
Thanks! 🤘
valeton gp100 has global eq for frequency, Q(slope) and gain, low and high cut filters and 4 band eq at 100Hz, 500Hz, 1KHz and 5KHz. It comes up straight away when you press the global button!!
Thank for doing these comparisons in context, basically in a way they will actually be used. Very few demos do this. 🤘🤘🤘
🙌
As long as i can easily switch between my sounds, clean, rhythm and solo im on board
link to IR is not working anymore...
Thanks a lot for the IRs :D
I was wondering how many looping overdubs can I do with gp100?
Thanks man for this comparision, I think that Valeton sounds a little muddy, prefer Mooer clarity, a few years ago I was in a band called Beta Vulgaris where one of guitarist prefered muddy sounds and second clarity ,but together they sound perfect , try both in a mix.
Excellent job!
🙌
Who got the best high gain preamps?
Are the Valetron effects recorded in stereo? Positive Grid Spark records in mono as far as ive read. looks like it wors as an interface that will work with a daw
It definitely works as an interface. I'm not sure about the stereo effects.
@@TaylorDanley thank you for the reply. I'm assuming you can, on computer, create your own patches or foot pedal set up and save it on the pedal as a preset?
Yep, they both have their own editing software.
@@TaylorDanley think im gunna drop money on it. thanks for your help. And i subscribed.
this review is what I'm EXACTLY looking for. thank you🤘🤘🤘
Nux mg300 how do you feel.
It feels like it wants to be unboxed after sitting on my shelf for a week and a half!
Joyo Gembox three?????
🤔 I'll see if I can!
After i hearing that.. I think valeton is the best for tone, sound quality... But for mooer you can get more amp modelling, tone, and other..
How do these sound with headphones?
Awesome!!!
Does the ge150 have a latency problem while switching preset? Like the preset will change when the footswitch has been released? Coz it is a problem for live, i dont want a fast action......
I did a video on switching.. Pretty much all modelers have some latency, and I don't think it's hugely noticeable between any of them, but I'd say it's the same as the GE200 in that video.
@@TaylorDanley I think the latency problems is from releasing a footswitch after pressing
it? If this is the problem, i shoud advance the click....
You did not notice it because you click so fast, try pressing it then release atleast 1 sec, see how it goes....
Can you connect a 2nd expression pedal to the valeton gp100?
Hey can you make a review of the USB record out of the Hotone Ampero One? I’m planning to buy it and probably gonna use it as my main recording interface for demo tracks.
I never use the USB out to record. Not because there's anything wrong with it, it's just a pain to have my computer juggle around drivers. I'm actually dealing with it right now from trying to run a product using the asio4all driver, which really messed up my system. In all honesty, I always prefer having a dedicated interface and only using the usb for the editing software for this reason.
can I use it for my electro-acoustic guitar, I really need something improve my peizo- output ...
Btw, the app for Valeton pretty close to Ampero... Hmmm
Hotone owns valeton.
Cool shootout. Have a great day.
Preset please......🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😭....yo tengo la valeton....🇲🇽😁
My GP-100 keeps disconnecting from the software. I don't know what's wrong but it doesn't seem to be a problem with the usb connection as I hear no disconnect-sound.
Sorry dude, I'm not good when it comes to technical problems. Hopefully their support team can help out. Good luck!
I need a Honest to god opinion. Lifes got me messed up but im a musician so i must spend lol. I noticed. The pedal chain on it. Is the sound quality good enough for me to use this for like a heavier distortion or like keep a phaser or temello set up on it?
I'm a gigging musician. If I have to choose one thing, I'd go for the valeton gp100, because of its durability.
With Stock IR's on 5150 I think Mooer sound a bit better, but with Custom IR's both are very similar. The stock IR's from valeton is not so good as Mooer IR's
The Mooer ge labs is my fav iPad app.. can you load the sounds on there to the ge150?
Can you do a demo review of the Joyo gembox 3?????
they both sound pretty dynamic for the price just a bit of EQ difference that u can injust internally or with an extra pedal etc lower mids for valeton i hear more mids for mooer
Man thank you so much. I also using valeton gp100 but I can't find great bands guitar patches how can I found I need your help
This is what I would do.... Research the specific tone you are looking for. See if the GP100 emulates the same components, and dial them in. Adjust to your playing style. Don't have your expectations set to sound the same, you'll chase the tone forever... Just try to get in the ball park, and something that you are happy with.
Yeah valenton is amazing ❤❤❤
Stock : ge150 wins
Custom : valeton wins
Cool video
Hi Taylor, just a point of clarification, does the valeton gp100 usb connection serves as the same connection to use as recording on phone? The mooer ge150 has an otg type b. What about with the gp100m? Is there a way to connect to the phone? Thanks. ✌️🤟
Costum Ir? How? 🙄
Both sound similar, but I think GE150 sounds better
Mooer sounds more fuller
Valeton is so heavy for distortion😍😍😍
what processor is used in the mooer GE 250?
No idea
not a winner. Mooer it worked better in the mix, but Valenton is also very good.
👍😁
Valeton sounds too digital and nasal sounding. They're both more digital sounding than Zoom, but Mooer is the clear winner in this test.
I always hate my friend's valeton tone. Now i know why, their stock ir aren't that great
moer is waaaaay better, hands down
7:55 2:00 6:44
GP-100 Is my taste ;D
too bad there is almost no sample of clean Sounds. I guess the video is just for metal cha cha cha cha cha cha
The GP100 Does have a global EQ
Ah...too bad you haven't had Nux MG 300 in your hands yet.
Efing awesome comparison btw.
Thanks! People keep asking for that thing, I'll reach out and see if they want to send one!
Jitiar, what happen with nux mg300?
Are they sound better than valeton gp-100??????
Here comes a new challenger: the DNAfx GiT by Harley Benton.
It never ends...
😂
harley benton is the same as the mooer ge150
😂😂😂😂😂
zoom stomps both of these.
IR ? desapear ? nooooooo !!!!!
There's a bunch for free in my discord, link in my newer videos.
Nux mg300 win
More metal 😑 some cleans please 🙏🏼
