The way rep works in this game is you can have a score of 20-100. Anytime someone complains about stock or dirtyness points come off, otherwise it will passively raise. I had the same issue you seem to have where my rep was hardly raising until I restarted the game. Then it grew in a few days and it affects the amount of customers you have. Rep score is listed next to your coin.
Also I'm about 2hrs in so you may have realized this later, but if you are growing your own produce you need to either be careful how much you plant or buy the cellar. The cellar keeps things from rotting. You don't need a stall (there is one to purchase, which I made that mistake, but its only organizational). You wanna do as much as you can at night, because anything in the morning delays your opening.
Seems like a bit of a janky mechanic, especially when you get penalized for items that you don't stock for which you also don't have the license. But I guess that's the way it goes. 🙂
Oh! Alcohol is wicked expensive, both in licence and ordering, but sells well and for good profit. Wine is buffed for both valentines and christmas. Whiskey flys off the shelves. I made most of my money from the farm and alcohol so far. Though I'm only in mid-spring, so grain of salt advice.
Champagne sells really good in the game. You'd likely get rich quick just selling the alcohol and some roses lol
The cookies and lollipops must be "edibles". That's why they're so expensive. 😂

A lot of stuff in the game is just over the top expensive. Plus if you overprice it they complain so no sale. The dev needs to rethink some of the stuff in the game. I have lots of things for sale and the customers don't come in much. But if I have little amount of items they come in and just complain they can't find this and that. The game is just out of whack in parts.
I got the game on sale for under $8 this past week. The sale is on till the 11th I think. A good game but the broom is always breaking and the floor is always dirty and therefore the customers complain. The floor being so dirty so often needs to be changed. Plus the day goes by too fast there should be a way to slow the day up.
It’s been a while since I played this one, but I do remember that the broom seemed to break pretty easily.
