I totally forgot I had the Box sets of Oasis Singles, in the Cigarette packets that my mother bought me for Christmas one year when they were released. Love them
Columbia is their best song. So many amazing times. But after hearing Noel do little by little in his set list, and many oasis tributes sing it,that’s an anthem aswell.
I have 2, Bring it on down/Columbia,... been an oasis fan since they came out, ive had favourites over the years, but i allways came back to those 2 songs.
Supersonic is the soundtrack of my teenagehood, it was the song that introduced me to Oasis, I remember watching the video clip on MTV Brasil back in 2008, those drums and guitar riffs instantly pierced through my soul, everytime I listen to Supersonic those nostalgic memories comes back and then it gives me goosebumps, everytime! I didn't know Supersonic was Noel's favourite song too, knowing this just made my day today 🎉
Lies by Noel as his songwriting book went up for auction and had all the lyrics for Supersonic in it showing he was working on that song for many months prior. He never just came up with it
Slide Away, Live Forever are my top two. I have to say though, I've never known a band before or since Oasis that have had such brilliant B-sides. It's actually ridiculous how good so many of them are, easily could have been another album, possibly two. But instead we got the thrill of buying an Oasis single and getting four belting tracks. Not a bad trade off at all!
There's one thing oasis are unparalleled in The quality of their b sides. The master plan album should've been their 3rd album and they would've been truly immortal Enough time has gone now where we can all admit Be Here Now was a huge anti climax Don't go away and Stand By Me were the only decent song on there. Stay Young was the best thing from those sessions and was once again reduced to a b side
It has to be Live Forever for me. I was about to turn 17 when it came out, it got me buying all the Beatles albums and from that point i started buying Dylan, Stones, Hendrix and Kinks albums too. Oasis were very important to me at that time and for the next couple of years, along with Pulp, Blur, Radiohead, Supergrass, Teenage Fanclub, Black Grape. And to a lesser degree, Ocean Colour Scene, Suede, Elastica, Sleeper (huge crush on Louise, C'mon i cant be the only one). Mid-90's were exciting musically in Britain.
I’m with Bonehead, Columbia is easily my favourite Oasis track; it’s perhaps the first genuinely progressive rock track in a decade, and probably the last one ever… Liam’s is Live Forever BTW 😊
Inspiration comes in a rush like lightning in a bottle. Thank goodness they couldn’t get the other song right ! A bit similar to John and Paul coming up with a Hard days night in one evening.
Of course I had heard Wonderwall growing up, but Supersonic was the first song that really introduced me to Oasis and that’s the reason why it’s my favorite. What I mean is that for a while I just assumed that Wonderwall was just one of those music anthems and didn’t think much about who actually made it. But when I heard supersonic which I randomly heard on iTunes, that made me look into what Oasis actually had.
Imagine your in a music lesson in school and your homework for the next day is to try and write lyrics and a guitar chord structure for a complete song and you come back with an acoustic version of super sonic, would you become the coolest kid in the whole building 😁 😁
He didn't. Tells so many porky pies. Lol. The lyrics etc and workings were in a diary sized notebook that went up for auction and proved he was working on that song for ages prior. Another Noel porky.
They have So so so many great songs its hard to choose one to be honest
a lot of them are pretty bad
Facts man ❤

Don’t know if you have Apple Music? But there’s a what’s the story morning glory deluxe version will loads of version of those songs and more!
Live forever. Supersonic. Slide away. Talk tonight. In no particular order. By far and away the biggest musical influence in my lifetime!
Cloudburst and it's good to be free are massively underrated!!!
"it's always gonna be Supersonic" but he's also answered some might say, the masterplan and live forever I think 😂
I love Some Might Say, but those lyrics:
The sink is full of fishes, she’s got dirty dishes on the brain
@@BloodSweatAndMethhe has said master plan before
I hope I think I know. Such an underrated belter
Fade In out also a good un
I hope I think I know so true.dhould have been massive
Be Here Now kicks ass, shame of it is the production was shite
love that song, and the girl in the dirty shirt too, it's just, priceless
@@sebaspepperlove the girl in the dirty shirt top tune criminally underrated and so is born on a different cloud 👍
Columbia is a simple song, but that's why it's so brilliant!
For me, the best song ever!
I feel so high whenever I hear it
None of it written by Noel

Listen up👌🏿...so underrated.
I agree with Noel. Supersonic is my favorite song is such a fun song to play too. That song is the reason why i picked up a real guitar 3 years ago.
Same here, I’m still not the best guitar player but that song I can play backwards and forwards, I’ve almost mastered it.
Were u playing a fake guitar before that?

Mine too Noel and it always has been!
Noel you're a Legend and I love you 🙏
Get off with him then.
Great story teller. He tells every tale as if it's the first time. Never sounds bored.
Still Kicking it almost 30 years later! ☮️&❤

Totally agree my favourite oasis song ever too 💯🐐

Their two best songs💯
Columbia is underrated, especially the white label demo
Columbia is their best song.
So many amazing times.
But after hearing Noel do little by little in his set list, and many oasis tributes sing it,that’s an anthem aswell.
What a man 🙌🏻
I concur, supersonic has all the bottled up energy and the rawness of a new band!
D' You Know What I Mean? My first Oasis very badass I was hooked
I LOATHE that song.

my fav Oasis song too
My fav
Supersonic... LOVE the guitar solo.
I agree with Noel
Tony mccarroll tells a probably more truthful version of the events of that night

My personal favourite is Some Might Say, but that band did so many amazing tracks
Digsy's Dinner, classic
Top 5 (which could probably change next week) Acquiesce, Live Forever, Stand By Me, Whatever, Sunday Morning Call.
There's one thing oasis are unparalleled in

I have to agree with boneheads choice, Columbia is just brilliant!
Bring it on down 🙏
Colombia, cast no shadow, the girl in the dirty shirt.gas panic
Yeeeessss
tony mccarroll doesnt get the credit from noel. he started the drum-beat that noel jammed off to create SUPERSONIC
I'll NEVER forget the first time I heard Supersonic. Similar to Noel's story, actually. 💙
I agree
Rocking chair or cast no shadow 😎👌
Depends what kind of mood im in on the day!! 😮
Great album there would never be a better album then definitely maybe and nevermind
The best version of Supersonic imo is the live version at Wembley in 2000 from Familiar to Millions the energy is off the charts
Don't Look Back In Anger. Job done.
Falling down shock of lightning
Inspiration comes in a rush like lightning in a bottle. Thank goodness they couldn’t get the other song right ! A bit similar to John and Paul coming up with a Hard days night in one evening.
Whatever and Masterplan are 2 of the best for me. Supersonic is elite too though.
It’s always slide away.

I know it’s maybe overplayed but to me Don’t Look Back in Anger is perhaps the most perfect song ever written
What’s better than any song they have ever done?? Johnny V!!!!! What a legend literally a living superstar
My favourite Oasis song at the moment is "Shock Of The Lightning".
Columbia my fave to play rhythm on too 😅

I think personally there's so many oasis songs that make it close to the best song ever but imo Live Forever is the song but supersonic is amazing
The fact that you can just write and record a song like Supersonic in a night because someone told you to last second is mind boggling to me
He didn't. Tells so many porky pies. Lol. The lyrics etc and workings were in a diary sized notebook that went up for auction and proved he was working on that song for ages prior. Another Noel porky.
Talk tonight for me any version
Mine is She's Electric
While I do love Supersonic, particularly live, I kind of agree with Alan McGee. Bring It On Down would have been an ideal debut for Oasis.
Johnny Vaughan show is excellent. So funny
