- Today, I embarked on a nostalgic culinary journey at none other than the iconic Kake Da Hotel, now delighting food lovers in Mumbai! This legendary eatery has a rich history dating back to its origins in Lahore and later becoming a cherished landmark in Delhi’s Connaught Place. For me, it’s a walk down memory lane, recalling the times my father would take me to savor their mouth-watering dishes cooked on a wood fire in massive utensils. The taste was and still is unparalleled!
Joining me today is the wonderful Ashok Kaka Chopra, the proud owner who has upheld the tradition and flavors of Kake Da Hotel through the decades. Ashok Sahab shared some incredible stories from his life - from horse riding to playing polo, and even singing! It was an absolute delight to listen to his experiences while indulging in the hotel's legendary offerings.

I know a place in sambalpur ...beri dhaba near Remaad chowk jiska chilli chicken khane banda 20 saal burla engg college mein padh kar aate thae US jakaar vi India mein kahi nahi milta tha...woh uncle ka death kae baathe aunty manage nahi kar pai aaur cook yea chef Manjrekar ji dusre jagah chale gaye...Desi murga ka bantha tha...I know people including me 5000 vi dedega same taste of chilii chicken aaur usme chilli rehta tha unlike aaj balle bahut capsicum daal kare boil chicken pakda dete with sauce...

Tandoor is suppose to be eaten through hand.....pehle toh roast chicken aata tha ....batti mein jalla kar ...uska taste abhi kahaan...Dhaba walla tandoor ka match electric nahi kar shakta hae...Best dish hotha Poda chicken desi murga ka...Poda matlab saal ka patha mein sarso ka oil mein fresh desi chicken whole spices ...pyaaz to tender ....burn it in wood ....uska taste abhi kahi nahi milta...aaj kaal to country chicken vi farm ka dhana khakar taste nahi raha...Spices vi adultery and sabse important mustard oil ka pungent smell ghayab hogaya.......
