Fun fact! Todorokis burn didn’t come from the boiling water itself! His Mom has an ice quirk, so after she calmed down she put ice directly on his burn (which you should never do) which caused his scarring! (Great animatic by the way!)

I love this song! It has such a happy melody! But it also expresses such anxiety and helplesness! One of my favorite parts of this song is when theres the sound of a gun being clocked (?) and all this noise comes out of nowhere and is a mess, but it harmonizes so well!
The way you storyboarded works so well with the musics calmer and more maniac moments! The simbolism was also very beautifull!!!

I first found this song while I was sitting in the psychiatrist's waiting room close to a breakdown and then sent it to my dad saying that it was my theme song for what I was feeling right now. Because it just has this feeling of being swept away and you can't do anything to stop, as it has a tone that could sound sarcastic, strained, or actually happy. Thankyou, by the way, I never made the connection on what that sound was!

I learned recently that apparently todoroki's scar isn't from the boiling water, but his *mother's reaction* to putting boiling water on his face. He was burned, but it didn't hurt much because it was on his left side. However, his mother tried using her ice to help the burn (NEVER DO THAT IT HURTS THE BURN SO MUCH MORE THAN IF YOU HADN'T) and so, that is what caused his scaring. But I would still imagine that the kettle situation would have traumatized him all the same. Also this isnt a gripe with the animatic, just thought I'd tell y'all even if it's a year later

I've always equated this song to a nightmare, or perhaps a breakdown. That's what it feels like listening to it anyways. The way you captured Todoroki's feelings in this shows the pain and hardships he's been through.
And while the focus isn't on the objects in the BG, the amount of detail like the rose blooming, fire, kettle steam, broken glass, and clock all have a significance that brings more to this animation. Quite splendid! :)

I found this about a week ago and keep coming back to it. The animation is astonishing, the feeling is all there. And the hands are more well drawn than anything I could manage. I can really connect to the horror betrayal and sadness Shoto likely felt in his situation just watching this alone. This animation is expressive, it’s loyal to the source material, it’s emotion driven and kind of scary. This animation is amazing and I love it! Hope this isn’t lost in the sea of comments and you can actually see this just to know this is art much appreciated
