Probably because this one is about an anime character that we thought was so cheerful but is still incredibly hurt, it just pains me to see when almost everyone just ignores the fact that he was bullied all his life and just close eyes on it because he still seems happy and it looks like it didn’t damage him too much..
For those who don’t get it, Deku is talking to himself giving himself reasons every day not to commit suicide. Unfortunately, he ran out of reasons so he jumped off at the end. The reason his reflections disappear is because they resemble as suicidal thoughts... i think. (Btw, My R means My reflection so yeah...)
"Just pray you'll be born with a stronger quirk in your next life, and take a swan dive off the roof of the building." Imagine afterwards, someone tells Bakugo his childhood friend jumped off the building and realizing it was his fault.
That’s a saying ( me, myself, and I ) but ya the story is that M/C is letting go of past depression and sadness by letting them jump of the forget them and let the past die out, but in the end she just pushed her feelings away and never got rid of them hence in original story being saved be the girl in the cardigan. She just never got rid of her current problem so when everyone else jumped she got help and saved her from her sadness of that specific memory. Did I have to write this.... idk
Did you ever think that (in the original): The girl with braids had nice tidy hair (she had her life together) even if she had (lost something) The short, small, petite girl was still well fed The girl in the yellow cardigan still had some light in her life (taken from the fact that yellow is a bright color) Before (mc) was about to jump, she took off her cardigan (she no longer had any warmth or light), she undid her braids (her life fell apart), and the short, small (most likely malnourished (especially since she was being abused)) her
Its amazing to think that if Izuku actually did kill himself certain people would be dead or still broken. Todoroki still would’ve not wanted to use his left side, due to Midoriya not being at the sports festival. He would still be quiet to himself and not talk to others. Tenya would’ve died from killer stain because Midoriya wasn’t there to reveal the location or even help him. Bakugo might’ve not been saved by the league of villains because Todoroki wouldn’t have wanted to get involved and Tenya would’ve been dead. All Might could’ve died as well if Midoriya wasn’t there to save Bakugo with Todoroki and Tenya. Kota still would’ve hated quirks and be dead because of the villain that tried to kill him. Theres more that could be added on, but in the end, Midoriya helped out a lot and if he really did listen to Bakugo on that day a lot of people would’ve still been depressed, dead, or still filled with hate. It’s amazing what one person can do to somebody’s life.
Actually, if you think about it, Baku would've died by the Sludge Villain...Izu being there, and jumping into action, is what spurred Toshi to act as well...w/out Izu there, Baku would have been killed...Toshi never would've jumped in to help, and he would've died that day...Ocha would've either been crushed/seriously injured during the entrance exam b/c Izu wouldn't have smashed the robot...and Eri wouldn't have been saved...Kai would've taken her/killed her...Izu saved her, defeating Kai is what nearly got him killed but he saved her..that and I think Toshi would have been almost killed during the USJ attack b/c those extra few seconds when Izu jumped in is what prevented the villains from seeing his weak form...w/out Izu, Toshi actually would have probably died in the first season...there is a lot Izu does, so many people he saved, and you only really realize it if you think about him being gone...

Midoriya thought as tears flowed from his eyes, he took in the scenery in front of him, just as beautiful as it was, it was the last time he'll feel the breeze, see the sunset and the last time he'll breathe. 'Its also the last time i'll feel pain' He thought to himself, he tore his eyes away from the scenery and looked back at the door, most likely hoping that someone would just try and stop him from doing what he was about to do. A few minutes passed by as he waited, but alas, the door remained shut, he bitterly laughed at how pathetic he was being for hoping that someone would wonder about him. He knew that he didn't belong in this world where quirks are everything and how you get treated based on your quirk, he didn't have one...that's what makes it more painful, he wanted to become like All Might, giving people hope and always smiling but yet now, he can't, he doesn't even have hope himself and he can't even smile anymore. More tears escaped from him, he tried to muffle the sounds of his despair, he cried out loud, questioning why he was even born if he didn't even make a difference in this world, with or without him, its not like the world would notice him. "I--I just...want to be a hero." He whispered in a shaky tone, his knees buckling as it made contact with the floor. It hurts but he can't even feel it compared to the pain that was in him mentally. This was his only wish so he wanted to say it out loud, perhaps God would hear his wishes and bestow him a quirk at the very last second, he was clinging unto that little light. "Why can't i be a hero?!" He shouted at the sky. His countless encounters in fights, the insults thrown at him, the constant reminders that he was indeed useless, the display of their quirks right in front of him. They don't understand his pain at all, they don't know how much it hurts to live going through that endless cycle every single day. "...I...don't want this.." "i...don't wanna die.." "Someone stop me." He can only whisper these to himself since no one would hear him even if he screamed, no one ever hears him, now, no one will ever hear from him again. He got up and slowly walked closer to the edge, his memories suddenly being replayed as one person kept repeating in his head...Bakugou. What Bakugou said to him kept repeating, those painful words that was too much for him considering that he was once his friend. "Shitty Nerd, don't you dare dream of going to UA." "Useless shit, die!" "Shut up Deku! You're too annoying." 'Haa...I wonder what would he say if he finds out im dead? I bet he'll laugh that i'm such a pathetic loser.' Midoriya wondered to himself, his heart ached at the thought of it but he brushed it off away. 'It doesn't really matter now.' He swung his leg over the railings and looked down, he was usually afraid of heights but now, it didn't look scary to him, maybe because he's intending to actually fall. But just as he prepared to swing his other leg over the railings, he heard the door burst open. He turned his head at who was it, his eyes widened since out of all people, he didn't expect him to be here. "Deku, what the fuck are you doing?" Bakugou asked angrily, his hands were in flames as he stared hard at the young man on the edge. Midoriya, shocked, didn't know what to reply, he didn't hope that he would see him here, at his last moment on earth. Fate really is cruel to him, Fate sent the most unreliable person over to him when he's trying to commit suicide. "What does it look like to you?" "You're testing out how to fucking fly, obviously, you're trying to die." Midoriya didn't want this right now, he didn't want to hear his remarks to remind him how damn pathetic he was for actually doing this but he's had enough, it didn't even look like Bakugou is trying to save him, its more like he's trying to push him to let go of the railings even more. He was confused as to how Bakugou even found him the first place since he knew this place was deserted, it was an abandoned school, it was their childhood school. It was perfect for him since it was completely rundown so why would he be here in the first place? He questioned. "Why are you even here Kacchan?" "Mind your own business." "Then get out of here so i can do just that!" Midoriya shouted at him, Bakugou clearly didn't expect that since this was the very first time that Midoriya shouted at him since he usually cowers or follow him at whatever he was doing. "Hurry up, or did you want to film me dying?" Bakugou remained silent for a moment, it had struck a chord in him, he clenched his teeth and threw a fireball at Deku, just barely missing him. "Didn't you want to be a hero?! How can you be one when you're gonna die?!" "I *wanted* to but you took away my hope for that." His voice cracked, he was having a very hard time holding his tears back, his vision was blurry because of the unshed tears, he didn't want to let Bakugou see him being more pathetic than he already was. "Deku, you fucking nerd, you better follow me and step away from the damn edge or i'll push you off myself!" "I'm tired of following you Kacchan." He told him and gave a forced smile "thank you for being my first friend, please don't treat someone else the same way you treated me." "You don't get to decide when you're gonna die! I'm gonna destroy you in UA!" Bakugou's tone changed, although his wording was still harsh, the tone of his voice was unnatural for someone like him. It was as if he was actually nervous but of course, Midoriya didn't notice this since he was too busy trying to keep himself together. "Kacchan...goodluck." "You sh-shitty nerd! You don't get to say that! Come here and say it to me!" "Deku...i'm..." *sorry* 'I can't say that, i have no right to.' We all know Ka-cchan always bully Deku, But never ever EVER forget that Deku will never do such a thing! How about his Mom?! He loved his mom couse shes the only person who loves him so people if u ask Deku if he will really jump in the real anime, he will say *maybe*...just kiddin but *maybe no*
He wanted someone to stop him. That's why he came up with all of these scenarios in his head of him stopping others from jumping. Because, really, he wanted _someone to do the same for him._ He was stalling. Waiting for someone to come save him. But since no one showed up, he jumped. Saddest song and video ever. Really, out of all of the BNHA related _Watashi no R_ videos out there, this one was the best. Everything was just really beautifully done. Kudos to you, my friend.

zozo .m35 ....in the Japanese sub of episodes 1 and 2 deku shows signs of suicide... when bokugo threw his book out the window and said jump off a building... deku said “ what if I really jumped.....” this shows how he thought about it another sign is when he was running towards the sludge monster and the heroes yelled “he’s going to die in vain! Is he suicidal!” well he actually wanted to die in that fight... he’s never been able to bring himself to suicide hut HA he was suicidal.
This whole thing is literally just Deku convincing himself NOT to jump. BUT that one day he didn’t have the voice of courage anymore:// I needed someone to at least be there for Deku and save him😭 But i get it if he didn’t cuz the whole time it was just him talking to himself.. BUT someone would have noticed from the ground or a teacher or even a student!😔
The interpretation is most likely that no one noticed him and those who did just didn't care. I feel like the anime severely underplays all of the bullying Izuku received as a result of not manifesting a quirk. From what I've gathered about society in MHA is that if you don't have a flashy or decent quirk in society's eyes, then no one cares- in fact they actually go further than that and actively antagonize/blame them for everything. Izuku, having no quirk, is seen as completely worthless to society and therefore most people would probably be secretly hoping that he did jump.
In Japan, when people would commit suicide, they would remove their shoes before doing so, just like when they would enter a home. It's like a sign of respect, but in this case, entering the afterlife. For the whole video, I was on the verge of tears, but THEN at the end, I bawled my eyes out because HE TOOK OFF HIS SHOES, DAMN IT. He wasn't able to convince himself that he's worth living for. (I'm still crying as I write down this comment.)
It's even more tragic considering that the main cause of all his strife is when he was confirmed "quirkless" by an examination of his feet. Symbolically, that adds a whole other layer of heartbreak.

The original actually meant it like that, in the beginning "she" was bullied and her family told her to grow out her hair since she is a girl and she thought that it'll get better Then later she fell for a boy, who told her that he liked her hair, he became her reason to live and she thought that it'll get better, but her hair was cut off by a bully and her crush was stolen The parents noticed the increased bullying and started fighting, she was thinking it's her fault, I also think that the bruises were the result of self harm, not abuse She went up to the roof three times, each time looking for a reason to not jump, but at some point she didn't find a reason anymore, telling herself the lie that even she couldn't believe; It'll get better. Until she didn't believe her own lie anymore and decided to jump. In the original, someone appeared at the end tho.
@Milavboo I don't think Bakugou likes Deku really. Their relationship is still far from friendship (at least in the anime) but ik for a fact Bakugou would feel broken if Izuku did die, even worse if he killed himself. Someone who he has known for most of his life and has constantly been there 'bothering' and 'annoying' him, just being gone one day. Despite what Bakugou said, he's not evil. He'd definitely feel the absence.

I never told my parents about me being so suicidal that I tried to take my life several times. I was good at excuses and so much was happening in our life that no one noticed. When the counselor noticed they called my parents in and that was the first time I saw my dad cry, his chin just shook and his entire body trembled. He simply grabbed my hand and cried silently listening to the doctor explain what needed to be done. When we stepped out my parents sandwiched me between them with me just repeatedly saying I’m sorry. I was so ashamed. I hated this, I knew thing were going to change. But my parents simply said this changes nothing. We love you more than anything. It’s not your fault. I think that was what I’d been needing to hear. Because after that I’d never stopped being ashamed but I stopped feeling guilty, that I’d failed them. I helped others but got stuck myself and that felt like I’d let them down. I felt like a failure. I had so much but I took it for granted and thought my life sucked enough that I wanted out. I learned that even if talking doesn’t help, the simple company of the dearest goes a long way for a smile

Aww geez. That's absolutely terrible. You shouldn't be ashamed though, just get help and it'll be alright. The first time I saw my father cry, it was a similar situation. It was a stressful day for the both of us, and we had yelled at each other a few hours before. It wasn't after we were alone together where he just broke down crying. About how everything was so hard. About how he didn't want to live anymore, but if he died we would all die as well bc the family is financially dependent on him. I cried too, as he was in the middle of his vent. From my perspective, seeing a grown man-- my father-- cry, it was shameful. I felt sad for him. But he has nothing to be ashamed for. He still hasn't gotten mental help but trust me, if it's available please reach out for help.
At the end (I made this up)- Soon someone notices the dead body and has called 911. Soon word gets out that Izuku has caused suicide. Kachann hears of this and comes to soon believe that it is his fault.... Everyone is now depressed knowing that he is gone.... Save our bebe boiz people! Who is wit me.

This is my interpretation, personally. Every 'boy' izuku met on the rooftop are the reasons why he considered/attempted suicide in the past. Now that he's grown more jaded and suffered more, he got angry at the boys. Back when he was rejected, at least he didn't have someone stolen from him like now. Back when he was bullied at school, at least then his home life was stable and he could always find a roof to return to, unlike now. And every time he did that, the boys jumped off the roof (disappearing), representing the feelings leaving his life. But by the time he met the "yellow cardigan boy" aka the reflection of him currently, he's at a loss of words. He didn't know how to convince the boy/feelings to disappear and to leave him alone. So the boy screamed at the yellow cardigan boy/his feelings to get out his sights instead of confronting him/it, since he believes he has "no rights" to do so. So the yellow cardigan boy didn't jump (aka die/disappear), the feelings continue to linger in him, driving him to commit suicide. (In the original, it's a she and not he, and also, in the end, when the girl jumps, you can see a person grab her hand as she falls) The hands reaching out for her when she jumped might be either: 1. Her will to live that's kicked in too late. Like how most people who have jumped off a bridge felt like they didn't want to die anymore 2/3 through their fall. 2. Someone who really cares for her that she hasn't considered. (fyi, this is not my comment, i saw it on the original video and it made a lot of sense!! I just wanted to share this so more can understand the real hidden reason behind this beatiful yet sad song.) (also Watashi no R/ My R stands for either My Regret or My Reflection!)
And many months later it is revealed who grabs the girl in My R. If you haven't watched it yet it's in The Diary of Underage Observer by the same creator as My R.
If you consider both ideas about the hand reaching for the girl in the end in this context: 1- Izuku, even after jumping, doesn’t have that will to live that people experience 2/3 of the way down. That even as he’s falling he doesn’t regret his choice to jump.... and 2- Izuku didn’t have anyone who cared about him around to save him. At that point, it was only his mom. There wasn’t any teachers or students at the school who cared about him enough to see him. And that the idea of there not being a hero there to save him, which kinda plays into the idea with All Might failing him by originally telling Izuku he couldn’t be a hero without a quirk. Both ideas are really cool and play into the what if? aspect of Izuku jumping after Bakugo tells him to take a swan dive off the roof.
I'm crying, because I know there are people who feel this way right now. Because I want to help them, but I know I can't because I'm not there for them right now and when they need me most. Because I know that they don't deserve that deep emotional pain that they're recieving and becaus I can't stop other from inflicting that pain on them. Because I get to live the happy life I did nothing for that they deserve and because I can't give it to them.

How the story could continue: Izuku jumps but before he can seriously injure himself someone catches him. He doesn't recognize the person but it was a pretty tall man with a black mask on. He brings Izuku to the ground safely and Izuku asks why he safed him. The man in the black mask tells him that suicide isn't an option. Then he lists all the people that let Izuku down in the past and fuels Izuku's rage towards everyone. To Katsuki that bullied him his entire life, his mother who apologized to him for not having a quirk instead of encouraging him and all the teachers that didn't treat him like everyone else, but only to a barely noticable extend. Then the man tells Izuku that he can make his life better with people who accept him and that the man will help him get his revenge. He even tells him that he can give him any quirk he wants. Izuku Midorya always wanted a quirk and always wanted to be a hero... but no one around him believed in him. Not even his own mother who slightly, bit by bit, tried to teach him the reality instead of doing anything to help him achieve his dream. But the man with the black mask was the first person _ever_ that believed in him. He accepted the offer. One day later a 15 year old boy named Midorya Izuku went missing, he was last seen by his class mate Bakugou Katsuki when Midorya went upstairs, thinking he was just going to look for a certain teacher. A month later there was big news about very dangerous new villain with the villain name "Deku". (Sorry, I only wanted to make a short description about a possible "shortly after" sequenze but it ended in a short fan fiction. I apologize for every spelling error or grammatic error)
I get you there. I always want to write a fanfic for certain series, but i have a hard time writing up plots that flow well enough to be called a story. I'm not forcing you to do it but since you have the basic skeleton of the story, you can write it as a simple one-shot if feel up to it.
I just realised, the First way of convincing was at least you aren't stolen from, then in the next they are and the way of convicing was at least your home life is fine, then domestic abuse happens. we're all crying again now huh.
I’m so happy that I found an animatic that actually took what the writer meant in the song instead of making it different people, though music is art and art is subjective, I still enjoy it when there’s animatics that are close to the original meaning. In this case, talking yourself out of suicide until you can’t anymore and you’ve reached your limit.

I think its a way to show that it was suicide and not murder??? I mean it could have many reasons but it reminds me more of a sign that that person was depressed and suicidal. Its also a sign of respect in japanese households but im not sure 😔
It's a cultural thing, Japanese people take of their shoes before committing suicide, why that became a cultural thing I don't know or the reasoning behind it but that's just how it is
Mabey this is what happened and allmight just couldn't live with it so he created the midoryia we see in the show in his head, and the whole thing is just what he thought would have happened if he wasn't that much closer to breaking.
Ive read a fic on ao3 that has the same story like this, except its his (supposed) classmates cause theyre still mid schoolers. Today listening to this song really bring memorizes back
I think the reason that this hits harder than other My R animatics is because, usually, despite the message that the girl was fighting her reasons to live from the start, it has different people and characters from whatever the media is. However, here, it's clear that each and every character is just Midoriya with different qualities, and it makes the truth all the more clear. Not to mention that in most My R animatics, someone saves the girl at the end, while here, Midoriya didn't have anyone grab him.
Honestly Deku’s character is amazing if you think about from this perspective. As far as we have seen he had no friends in middle school and was being horribly bullied, and yet he was still incredibly optimistic. Like wow. And I think the reason no one was there to save him was because this was probably during middle school? When he had no friends. So there was no one to grab his hand. Very sad I’m crying
But the fan still focus their attention more on the other pretty boy while making a fic about Bakugou raping Deku. The fandom had a very twisted way of view towards mha character especially Deku and yeah I agree Deku character are actually amazing, too bad not many people share thiw view but understand why.
Am I the only one who thinks that Todoroki would also be perfect for this? Just because of how his father basically abused him when he was little. mm, todoroki doesn't seem suicidal. and a big part of the video is about bullying, which deku has been but todoroki hasn't. i think some parts would work but some also wouldn't
I don't think todoroki would be fit for this. I know he suffered. he was abused by his father a lot but izuku's suffering is one that went largely unnoticed by the people around him. the video and lyrics speak of the inner turmoil and pain that he's trying to suppress.
Wow, even though this ended up being a metaphor for someone trying to stop themselves to commit suicide before finally giving in to it, I was thinking this would end differently. At first I was thinking maybe there were actual different people there that the main character would meet on their way to the roof when they decided to jump, and saw other people who wanted to do the same but they just got there before them. A reason on why they could have look just like the main character could have been how the mc could've been projecting themselves or seeing themselves in the people who were about to jump. Seeing how simple their problems were compared to the mc, they pretty much saw no reason for these others to try and throw their life away when things could have been way worse. Even when there was someone who had the same problems as them they still didn't want to see them jump and asked them to not do it. At this point I was thinking "oh hey maybe despite how much they may want to jump maybe secretly they don't actually want to do it and and in a way they're telling themselves to stop when they said it to that other person". I thought when mc finally found no one on the roof when they showed up and finally decided to jump, I thought the ending would be a bit more lighthearted than this. I was thinking maybe mc was just a bit early, and how maybe the three guys who they talked out of jumping earlier would catch him just before he was going to jump. At this point they would be switching roles and the people that mc saved would be saving them instead. I thought they would talk them out of it and that they would show the mc that there were people who worry about them after all, and that maybe they could all become good friends and have found someone who they could share their hardships with and vise versa. Well it was a nice thought at least.
Well this is actually an abstract way of seeing thing in the video, but the 3 persons he saved where himself; at first he stopped because there were reasons to stay, when he finally jumps is because he has no reason to stay anymore, no friends, no home and because he's been stolen of something important.

Considering the life he's lived, I would definitely see Midoriya as someone who had struggled with depression and/or feelings of hopelessness. But honestly he's such a strong boy and even if this pv had a dark ending it works well with the idea of 'what else could've happened if midoriya never met all might'.
theory? The song is about a boy (deku obviously) losing his fight with depression and committing suicide. The song makes it seem like theres multiple people he prevents from committing suicide. 1. a boy with glasses 2. a Short boy 3. a boy with yellow cardigan These are all him describing his self. The "people" he saves are actually his talking his self out of jumping. At the end he eventually gave up and took his life. Describing his self in all 3 ways, taking off his cardigan, undoing his braids and mentioning how short he is before jumping.

Jessica Willcox Bakugou showed some signs of guilt and concern when he saw Deku’s arm crippled and destroyed when he used his Quirk to blow up the upper floors of the building they were in when they first fought. His expression briefly showed that much, but he didn’t outwardly say or do anything to help him or apologize. Bakugou would probably be a little shocked if he heard about Midoriya’s suicide, and he’d definitely get in trouble with the school staff or both their parents if Midoriya showed any signs that Bakugou was the main cause of his suicide (in, say, a suicide note or something), but I doubt he’d dwell on it for too long. Since this song takes place in the very beginning of the story, before Deku met All Might and before Deku saved Bakugou’s life, Bakugou is at his *worst* here. He hasn’t even started his long, long road to development yet. He’d dwell on his actions for a little while, but I doubt he’d let this get to him, and he'd eventually just rationalize any guilt he might feel by saying, “Deku was just weak, that’s all. He couldn’t handle being a Quirkless loser, so that's why the dumbass killed himself.” And then he'd just move on with his life. Fans like to paint Bakugou with more of a conscience than he really has, or they try to make him out to be a better person than he really is, when he’s honestly not that great. He *does* develop, yeah, but it’s been a very, very slow process. Even after Deku saved Kacchan’s life from the sludge villain, or after all the times Deku tried to level with him and try to have an actual conversation with him, he only ever saw Deku’s actions as condescending and mocking. And this divide between them started when they were just little kids. Why would anyone want to hang out with Bakugou (or anyone like him) in real life? Why do people like him so much? He’s entertaining to watch, yeah, and he’s been shown to have a *few* redeeming qualities here and there overtime, but only after he’s been forcibly humiliated and humbled time and time again, and even then, he’s still not exactly the most approachable person around. Kirishima’s been his only real friend because he doesn’t take Bakugou too seriously and he can handle him at his worst. And by the time the two even become friends in the first place, Bakugou had already softened up a little to pretty much everyone that isn’t Deku. Sorry for rambling there. I got a little carried away... People like to exaggerate Deku’s and Kacchan’s relationship as "puppy love" (an angry bulldog with a shaking chihuahua), despite the *series itself* acknowledging (during the Final Exams arc in season 2) through the school staff’s view of them that their relations with each other are extremely volatile, unhealthy, and toxic, and their interactions *hardly* change at all once the exams are over. Just because Bakugou and Midoriya managed to work together this one time doesn't mean they're suddenly on the road to becoming friends. Why do people ship this?
It doesn't matter if Bakugou "knew" Deku wouldn't jump. Telling anyone to commit suicide by jumping off the school roof, destroying their notes on becoming a hero and tossing it into a pond for fish to eat, threatening them by telling them not to follow their dreams, and demeaning them and insulting them for hardly any reason are things *no one* should do, regardless of how much a bully *thinks* they "know" their victim. That just doesn't fly. A person could bully and talk down to their best friend for years and they could still end up committing suicide despite the bully thinking they "know" they won't do it. And even if they won't, that doesn't change the fact that this kind of relationship is extremely toxic and unhealthy (Aizawa, Recovery Girl, and even All Might are quick to point this out when Bakugou and Deku are forced to try and team up during Final Exams). Bakugou can't read minds. And Deku may be plucky and resilient, but he was still very close to giving up, especially when All Might told him to. It's part of why he always cries and bawls his eyes out whenever someone ends up tolerating him in the beginning, or whenever something fortunate happens to him. He's gone through so much strife that he feels more blessed than anyone else whenever something good happens to him, to the point he doesn't think he deserves it. Just because Deku is smart when it comes to his studies and his aspirations (like how you said Bakugou figured Deku would be smart enough to end up in U.A.) doesn't mean he's strong mentally. Don't get me wrong, Deku *is* pretty strong-willed; otherwise he wouldn't have been able to have made it this far, but at the same time, what if everything Bakugou wanted *did* happen? Deku *didn't* get into U.A. and stayed a "Quirkless loser" and ended up fading into obscurity from Bakugou's life as he fell into some other Quirkless position? Deku would be miserable. All that time dreaming and analyzing and training and taking notes for nothing. Heroes aren't always good people; most are just normal people after a specific occupation, or people with an agenda trying to gain fame and recognition, and not exaggerated, moral pillars of justice. Bakugou is a combination of the first two; he just wants to be the best and the new #1 Hero, when it comes to both strength and helping people, but the manga has shown from his failures that he's not very good at the latter. There's a reason why so many characters in the series think or assume Bakugou is villainous, and in his own way, he is. He's not willing to do things like steal or kill or torture innocent people or take over the world like the League of Villains are, but before all the development he received before the manga reached the current point in the story it's at right now, he was no different than an ordinary bully, at least when Midoriya is concerned. Even if Bakugou isn't a villain by traditional standards, he's still an asshole, and with how thickheaded he is, it's ridiculous it's taken him this much to even *partially* realize that *maybe* Deku being nice to him all this time wasn't just him mocking him. Kirishima openly mocks Bakugou all the time as his friend and he's at least wise enough to get the message there, but not with Deku, apparently, because for most of the story he likes to think of him as a pebble on the side of the road he can ignore or a bug he can squish anytime he wants. BakuDeku won't happen because Midoriya and Uraraka are obviously meant to be the canon pair here. I don't want to devolve this conversation into shipping wars, because honestly, I don't care about who ends up with who, but platonically, Bakugou and Midoriya are from being on good terms right now as it is. And to me, if Deku were to commit suicide, then I do honestly feel Bakugou's guilt would mainly revolve around his dream and ego being crushed because he indirectly caused him to do that. Not because Midoriya specifically took his own life. Remember that this song takes place when they were in middle school, before Bakugou even *started* developing.
First of all I AGREE with your first AND second statement. I never defended Bakugou or his behavior, just stated the obvious fact that he knew Izuku was mentally strong. On the second note, yes he was close to giving up, but not on life, just being a hero. Which was realistic at the time, considering he was QUIRKLESS. We can all sit here and say that no he should dream and be a hero, but the reality is if All Might did not give him a quirk Izuku should give up on his dream, because there is no was he can be a hero. That is the reasoning (which I still DO NOT AGREE with) that some people have, that Bakugou was an asshole and basically evil, just to crush Izukus' dream of becoming a hero to save him from harm (or certain death as a QUIRKLESS person going against ANY quirk). The reason he "bawls his eyes out" with All Might is because he made his dream true. He was acknowledged as a hero by his ultimate hero. However, while I agree that he appreciates what he has (friends, quirk...) more than others, because he did not have any of that, I would disagree that he does that "to the point he doesn't think he deserves it". He did not show that kind of behavior or any such thought in the manga, so no he does not think that he doesn't deserve it, he just know how lucky he is to have those things more then other do, because as the saying goes "You never knew what you had until you lost it.", which he did. So what if it all happened as Bakugou wished. So what if Deku never becomes a hero. At the beginning of the manga and anime you hear the words "People are not born equal.". This is what the manga develops on, both with heroes and villains. We can see even that it DID NOT matter if Izuku was not chosen as the next successor, because there were other, logically better choices. What All Might has done with Izuku was a gamble, one that payed off, sure, but still a gamble. However there are a xxxx of other Izukus' out there in the world that did not get the chance of being a hero, or something so horrible happened to them that they became villains (Tomura is one of them, he is a flipped side of Izuku). If he did not become a hero, after a while he would, as most people with unattainable dreams, move on with his life. Sometimes you don't get what you want, that is a fact of life. Which is another reason I like this manga/anime. It doesn't present anything as black and white, just gray. Why did some become a villain, because of society. Take for example Himiko. She clearly is insane and belongs in a institution, but once captured she is just another villain that will be locked up and forgotten about. That is the thing, this is a mostly realistic "World is not fair" manga, which I like. See you deem Bakugou as a villain/bully (which I agree upon), but again it is the society that made him become what he was. He could do no wrong, because he was the next hero. Meaning that nobody ever even stopped him in doing his villainous things. The thing about children is that they do not have a conscience, it is a learned behavior, one that society teaches us. However, Bakugou has grown up in a society where a strong quirk is everything and he could do no wrong. Which lead him to become the "bully" he was. He is the perfect example of a child that never heard the word "No/What you are doing is wrong". Again that connects to the "People are not born equal.". You take Kirishima as an example, but even Deku gave you the answer as to why Bakugou considers him a friend. Because of his strength and his resilience. I mean look at Bakugous mother, she has the same behavior as him, they are basically both tsundere at the core, but learn to mellow down (we can see that when Bakugou pays back Kirishima for the goggles that he got in order to save him). Again, this does not excuse his behavior and he defensively was NOT a tsundere towards Izuku, he was just a bully. Also, "but not with Deku, apparently, because he for most of the story he likes to think of him as a pebble on the side of the road he can ignore or a bug he can squish anytime he wants" this part got me, yet he never ignores ANYTHING about Izuku, and I do mean ANYTHING. He sees and reacts to everything Izuku does, yet does no such thing with others, he does not even notice other people for most part (seeing as how he did not even know their quirks during the cavalry battle). The reason behind this is still unknown and I will not pretend to know it since it is not out in the manga. "BakuDeku won't happen because Midoriya and Uraraka are obviously meant to be the canon pair here". As I said this is a really realistic manga which would make that statement ridiculous. While yes as of now they are the clear possible pairing, I would not agree that they are as of yet cannon. We only see Urarakas' side of this "love", but as of now it is one sided. Also, Uraraka never specifies what she feels towards Izuku, just that she might feel something. Furthermore, that was encouraged by her classmates, the only thing she herself knows at the moment is that she admires Deku. If we go by the logic of each girl Izuku blushed in front of we can take Mai Hatsume into consideration. I mean there is no development in their relationship whatsoever, he could as easily end up with Asui or anyone else. MY OPINION: However, the thing that I would argue with Izuku is that he is bi or pan sexual. I mean that is the only explanation I have for him always sticking with Bakugou as a child (I assume it was puppy love that he had for Bakugou, because there is no other reason for him to stick to him as he did), it would also explain why he still strongly cares for him. It would mean that Bakugou was his first crush/love, but I do think that he no longer feels that way, thanks to Bakugou. END OF MY OPINION All I have to say for your last statement is that I agree that that is a possibility, but we will never know for sure if it is what would happen. Which is why I wrote that as just that, a possibility. Also for the cannon part, or what the characters think/feel, let us stick to facts and not put opinions about it. I am that type of a person, let's just stick to what the CREATOR of the manga wrote and not add anything to the characters, because that is who they are and what they feel. They feel/think exactly what the CREATOR wants them to feel and nothing more or less. Until he is confirmed anything we cannot know anything for sure. In the end, this is a very realistic anime, so I am just going to ask you...How many people are still together with the people they were with when they were in high school? So even if somebody ends up with somebody (meaning Izuku x Uraraka/Todoroki/Asui/Mei/Bakugou) there is always a possibility that they will break up.
When I said Bakugou thought Deku was "a pebble on the side of the road" or a "bug he could crush whenever he wants, those were *actual* quotes he said in the anime, both in the sub and the dub (proof: this clip in episode 6 - ua-cam.com/video/E3yuCmvajYo/v-deo.html). He said this quote to himself after he saw Deku suddenly do well in Aizawa's softball test with his Quirk. Bakugou *did* figure Deku was an insignificant to him, that he was nothing, and that he was better than him, until he was shocked that Deku suddenly had a Quirk. For example, Bakugou made it clear he wasn't paying attention when he didn't know Deku passed the entrance exams by completely destroying the 0-point giant robot with his Quirk despite pretty much everyone else in 1-A knowing about it. So you can't say that Bakugou "doesn't ignore" Deku; he has, and only made fun of him in middle school for fun and to stroke his ego. He doesn't obsess over it and only cares more about improving himself for most of the earlier arcs than being near Deku; he's only around him every now and then because they happen to be in the same class. Bakugou is only constantly shocked and angry at Deku because he constantly sees him improving in class. He normally ignored him, but since they're in the same class, he gets to see how much stronger Deku becomes overtime, and that's what makes him mad. You're right in saying that Bakugou is who he is because of how this series's society works; no one ever did tell Bakugou that anything he was doing was wrong because all the kids thought he was so cool and all the adults were impressed by his super-strong and versatile Quirk and felt he had a bright future ahead of him, and ignored all the bad things he did. It doesn't justify him being jerk for most of the series, but his reasoning for why he became like this makes sense. He had no limiters or controllers telling him what to do and keeping him in check. And sorry for bringing shipping into this. You're right that MHA is does a good job in writing its characters in a pretty realistic light when it comes to depth and how they act around each other, and people are free to assume whatever sexualities they want when it comes to what the characters prefer.

That's only in the english translation version. The original japanese is still just saying "there is nobody here but myself".
That’s a saying ( me, myself, and I ) but ya the story is that M/C is letting go of past depression and sadness by letting them jump of the forget them and let the past die out, but in the end she just pushed her feelings away and never got rid of them hence in original story being saved be the girl in the cardigan. She just never got rid of her current problem so when everyone else jumped she got help and saved her from her sadness of that specific memory.

Its amazing to think that if Izuku actually did kill himself certain people would be dead or still broken.
Todoroki still would’ve not wanted to use his left side, due to Midoriya not being at the sports festival. He would still be quiet to himself and not talk to others.
Tenya would’ve died from killer stain because Midoriya wasn’t there to reveal the location or even help him.
Bakugo might’ve not been saved by the league of villains because Todoroki wouldn’t have wanted to get involved and Tenya would’ve been dead.
All Might could’ve died as well if Midoriya wasn’t there to save Bakugo with Todoroki and Tenya.
Kota still would’ve hated quirks and be dead because of the villain that tried to kill him.
Theres more that could be added on, but in the end, Midoriya helped out a lot and if he really did listen to Bakugo on that day a lot of people would’ve still been depressed, dead, or still filled with hate. It’s amazing what one person can do to somebody’s life.

Actually, if you think about it, Baku would've died by the Sludge Villain...Izu being there, and jumping into action, is what spurred Toshi to act as well...w/out Izu there, Baku would have been killed...Toshi never would've jumped in to help, and he would've died that day...Ocha would've either been crushed/seriously injured during the entrance exam b/c Izu wouldn't have smashed the robot...and Eri wouldn't have been saved...Kai would've taken her/killed her...Izu saved her, defeating Kai is what nearly got him killed but he saved her..that and I think Toshi would have been almost killed during the USJ attack b/c those extra few seconds when Izu jumped in is what prevented the villains from seeing his weak form...w/out Izu, Toshi actually would have probably died in the first season...there is a lot Izu does, so many people he saved, and you only really realize it if you think about him being gone...

"No one's here to stop me today." Midoriya thought as tears flowed from his eyes, he took in the scenery in front of him, just as beautiful as it was, it was the last time he'll feel the breeze, see the sunset and the last time he'll breathe.
'Its also the last time i'll feel pain' He thought to himself, he tore his eyes away from the scenery and looked back at the door, most likely hoping that someone would just try and stop him from doing what he was about to do.
A few minutes passed by as he waited, but alas, the door remained shut, he bitterly laughed at how pathetic he was being for hoping that someone would wonder about him. He knew that he didn't belong in this world where quirks are everything and how you get treated based on your quirk, he didn't have one...that's what makes it more painful, he wanted to become like All Might, giving people hope and always smiling but yet now, he can't, he doesn't even have hope himself and he can't even smile anymore.
More tears escaped from him, he tried to muffle the sounds of his despair, he cried out loud, questioning why he was even born if he didn't even make a difference in this world, with or without him, its not like the world would notice him.
"I--I just...want to be a hero." He whispered in a shaky tone, his knees buckling as it made contact with the floor. It hurts but he can't even feel it compared to the pain that was in him mentally. This was his only wish so he wanted to say it out loud, perhaps God would hear his wishes and bestow him a quirk at the very last second, he was clinging unto that little light. "Why can't i be a hero?!" He shouted at the sky.
His countless encounters in fights, the insults thrown at him, the constant reminders that he was indeed useless, the display of their quirks right in front of him. They don't understand his pain at all, they don't know how much it hurts to live going through that endless cycle every single day.
"...I...don't want this.."
"i...don't wanna die.."
"Someone stop me."
He can only whisper these to himself since no one would hear him even if he screamed, no one ever hears him, now, no one will ever hear from him again.
He got up and slowly walked closer to the edge, his memories suddenly being replayed as one person kept repeating in his head...Bakugou. What Bakugou said to him kept repeating, those painful words that was too much for him considering that he was once his friend.
"Shitty Nerd, don't you dare dream of going to UA."
"Useless shit, die!"
"Shut up Deku! You're too annoying."
'Haa...I wonder what would he say if he finds out im dead? I bet he'll laugh that i'm such a pathetic loser.' Midoriya wondered to himself, his heart ached at the thought of it but he brushed it off away. 'It doesn't really matter now.'
He swung his leg over the railings and looked down, he was usually afraid of heights but now, it didn't look scary to him, maybe because he's intending to actually fall.
But just as he prepared to swing his other leg over the railings, he heard the door burst open. He turned his head at who was it, his eyes widened since out of all people, he didn't expect him to be here.
"Deku, what the fuck are you doing?" Bakugou asked angrily, his hands were in flames as he stared hard at the young man on the edge.
Midoriya, shocked, didn't know what to reply, he didn't hope that he would see him here, at his last moment on earth. Fate really is cruel to him, Fate sent the most unreliable person over to him when he's trying to commit suicide.
"What does it look like to you?"
"You're testing out how to fucking fly, obviously, you're trying to die."
Midoriya didn't want this right now, he didn't want to hear his remarks to remind him how damn pathetic he was for actually doing this but he's had enough, it didn't even look like Bakugou is trying to save him, its more like he's trying to push him to let go of the railings even more.
He was confused as to how Bakugou even found him the first place since he knew this place was deserted, it was an abandoned school, it was their childhood school. It was perfect for him since it was completely rundown so why would he be here in the first place?
He questioned. "Why are you even here Kacchan?"
"Mind your own business."
"Then get out of here so i can do just that!" Midoriya shouted at him, Bakugou clearly didn't expect that since this was the very first time that Midoriya shouted at him since he usually cowers or follow him at whatever he was doing. "Hurry up, or did you want to film me dying?"
Bakugou remained silent for a moment, it had struck a chord in him, he clenched his teeth and threw a fireball at Deku, just barely missing him. "Didn't you want to be a hero?! How can you be one when you're gonna die?!"
"I *wanted* to but you took away my hope for that." His voice cracked, he was having a very hard time holding his tears back, his vision was blurry because of the unshed tears, he didn't want to let Bakugou see him being more pathetic than he already was.
"Deku, you fucking nerd, you better follow me and step away from the damn edge or i'll push you off myself!"
"I'm tired of following you Kacchan." He told him and gave a forced smile "thank you for being my first friend, please don't treat someone else the same way you treated me."
"You don't get to decide when you're gonna die! I'm gonna destroy you in UA!" Bakugou's tone changed, although his wording was still harsh, the tone of his voice was unnatural for someone like him. It was as if he was actually nervous but of course, Midoriya didn't notice this since he was too busy trying to keep himself together.
"Kacchan...goodluck."
"You sh-shitty nerd! You don't get to say that! Come here and say it to me!"
"Deku...i'm..." *sorry*

Is he suicidal!” well he actually wanted to die in that fight... he’s never been able to bring himself to suicide hut HA he was suicidal.

The interpretation is most likely that no one noticed him and those who did just didn't care. I feel like the anime severely underplays all of the bullying Izuku received as a result of not manifesting a quirk. From what I've gathered about society in MHA is that if you don't have a flashy or decent quirk in society's eyes, then no one cares- in fact they actually go further than that and actively antagonize/blame them for everything. Izuku, having no quirk, is seen as completely worthless to society and therefore most people would probably be secretly hoping that he did jump.

In Japan, when people would commit suicide, they would remove their shoes before doing so, just like when they would enter a home. It's like a sign of respect, but in this case, entering the afterlife. For the whole video, I was on the verge of tears, but THEN at the end, I bawled my eyes out because HE TOOK OFF HIS SHOES, DAMN IT. He wasn't able to convince himself that he's worth living for. (I'm still crying as I write down this comment.)
It's even more tragic considering that the main cause of all his strife is when he was confirmed "quirkless" by an examination of his feet. Symbolically, that adds a whole other layer of heartbreak.

The parents noticed the increased bullying and started fighting, she was thinking it's her fault, I also think that the bruises were the result of self harm, not abuse
She went up to the roof three times, each time looking for a reason to not jump, but at some point she didn't find a reason anymore, telling herself the lie that even she couldn't believe; It'll get better. Until she didn't believe her own lie anymore and decided to jump.

He'd definitely feel the absence.

I never told my parents about me being so suicidal that I tried to take my life several times. I was good at excuses and so much was happening in our life that no one noticed. When the counselor noticed they called my parents in and that was the first time I saw my dad cry, his chin just shook and his entire body trembled. He simply grabbed my hand and cried silently listening to the doctor explain what needed to be done. When we stepped out my parents sandwiched me between them with me just repeatedly saying I’m sorry. I was so ashamed. I hated this, I knew thing were going to change. But my parents simply said this changes nothing. We love you more than anything. It’s not your fault. I think that was what I’d been needing to hear. Because after that I’d never stopped being ashamed but I stopped feeling guilty, that I’d failed them. I helped others but got stuck myself and that felt like I’d let them down. I felt like a failure. I had so much but I took it for granted and thought my life sucked enough that I wanted out. I learned that even if talking doesn’t help, the simple company of the dearest goes a long way for a smile

The first time I saw my father cry, it was a similar situation. It was a stressful day for the both of us, and we had yelled at each other a few hours before. It wasn't after we were alone together where he just broke down crying. About how everything was so hard. About how he didn't want to live anymore, but if he died we would all die as well bc the family is financially dependent on him. I cried too, as he was in the middle of his vent. From my perspective, seeing a grown man-- my father-- cry, it was shameful. I felt sad for him. But he has nothing to be ashamed for.
He still hasn't gotten mental help but trust me, if it's available please reach out for help.
At the end (I made this up)-
Soon someone notices the dead body and has called 911. Soon word gets out that Izuku has caused suicide. Kachann hears of this and comes to soon believe that it is his fault.... Everyone is now depressed knowing that he is gone....

This is my interpretation, personally.
Every 'boy' izuku met on the rooftop are the reasons why he considered/attempted suicide in the past. Now that he's grown more jaded and suffered more, he got angry at the boys. Back when he was rejected, at least he didn't have someone stolen from him like now. Back when he was bullied at school, at least then his home life was stable and he could always find a roof to return to, unlike now. And every time he did that, the boys jumped off the roof (disappearing), representing the feelings leaving his life.
But by the time he met the "yellow cardigan boy" aka the reflection of him currently, he's at a loss of words. He didn't know how to convince the boy/feelings to disappear and to leave him alone. So the boy screamed at the yellow cardigan boy/his feelings to get out his sights instead of confronting him/it, since he believes he has "no rights" to do so. So the yellow cardigan boy didn't jump (aka die/disappear), the feelings continue to linger in him, driving him to commit suicide.
(In the original, it's a she and not he, and also, in the end, when the girl jumps, you can see a person grab her hand as she falls)
The hands reaching out for her when she jumped might be either:
1. Her will to live that's kicked in too late. Like how most people who have jumped off a bridge felt like they didn't want to die anymore 2/3 through their fall.
2. Someone who really cares for her that she hasn't considered.
(fyi, this is not my comment, i saw it on the original video and it made a lot of sense!! I just wanted to share this so more can understand the real hidden reason behind this beatiful yet sad song.) (also Watashi no R/ My R stands for either My Regret or My Reflection!)

And many months later it is revealed who grabs the girl in My R. If you haven't watched it yet it's in The Diary of Underage Observer by the same creator as My R.
If you consider both ideas about the hand reaching for the girl in the end in this context:
1- Izuku, even after jumping, doesn’t have that will to live that people experience 2/3 of the way down. That even as he’s falling he doesn’t regret his choice to jump.... and
2- Izuku didn’t have anyone who cared about him around to save him. At that point, it was only his mom. There wasn’t any teachers or students at the school who cared about him enough to see him. And that the idea of there not being a hero there to save him, which kinda plays into the idea with All Might failing him by originally telling Izuku he couldn’t be a hero without a quirk.
Both ideas are really cool and play into the what if? aspect of Izuku jumping after Bakugo tells him to take a swan dive off the roof.
I'm crying, because I know there are people who feel this way right now. Because I want to help them, but I know I can't because I'm not there for them right now and when they need me most. Because I know that they don't deserve that deep emotional pain that they're recieving and becaus I can't stop other from inflicting that pain on them. Because I get to live the happy life I did nothing for that they deserve and because I can't give it to them.

How the story could continue:
Izuku jumps but before he can seriously injure himself someone catches him. He doesn't recognize the person but it was a pretty tall man with a black mask on. He brings Izuku to the ground safely and Izuku asks why he safed him. The man in the black mask tells him that suicide isn't an option. Then he lists all the people that let Izuku down in the past and fuels Izuku's rage towards everyone. To Katsuki that bullied him his entire life, his mother who apologized to him for not having a quirk instead of encouraging him and all the teachers that didn't treat him like everyone else, but only to a barely noticable extend.
Then the man tells Izuku that he can make his life better with people who accept him and that the man will help him get his revenge. He even tells him that he can give him any quirk he wants.
Izuku Midorya always wanted a quirk and always wanted to be a hero... but no one around him believed in him. Not even his own mother who slightly, bit by bit, tried to teach him the reality instead of doing anything to help him achieve his dream. But the man with the black mask was the first person _ever_ that believed in him. He accepted the offer.
One day later a 15 year old boy named Midorya Izuku went missing, he was last seen by his class mate Bakugou Katsuki when Midorya went upstairs, thinking he was just going to look for a certain teacher.
A month later there was big news about very dangerous new villain with the villain name "Deku".
(Sorry, I only wanted to make a short description about a possible "shortly after" sequenze but it ended in a short fan fiction. I apologize for every spelling error or grammatic error)

I’m so happy that I found an animatic that actually took what the writer meant in the song instead of making it different people, though music is art and art is subjective, I still enjoy it when there’s animatics that are close to the original meaning. In this case, talking yourself out of suicide until you can’t anymore and you’ve reached your limit.

I think the reason that this hits harder than other My R animatics is because, usually, despite the message that the girl was fighting her reasons to live from the start, it has different people and characters from whatever the media is.
However, here, it's clear that each and every character is just Midoriya with different qualities, and it makes the truth all the more clear.
Not to mention that in most My R animatics, someone saves the girl at the end, while here, Midoriya didn't have anyone grab him.
Honestly Deku’s character is amazing if you think about from this perspective. As far as we have seen he had no friends in middle school and was being horribly bullied, and yet he was still incredibly optimistic. Like wow. And I think the reason no one was there to save him was because this was probably during middle school? When he had no friends. So there was no one to grab his hand. Very sad I’m crying

I don't think todoroki would be fit for this. I know he suffered. he was abused by his father a lot but izuku's suffering is one that went largely unnoticed by the people around him. the video and lyrics speak of the inner turmoil and pain that he's trying to suppress.

Wow, even though this ended up being a metaphor for someone trying to stop themselves to commit suicide before finally giving in to it, I was thinking this would end differently. At first I was thinking maybe there were actual different people there that the main character would meet on their way to the roof when they decided to jump, and saw other people who wanted to do the same but they just got there before them. A reason on why they could have look just like the main character could have been how the mc could've been projecting themselves or seeing themselves in the people who were about to jump. Seeing how simple their problems were compared to the mc, they pretty much saw no reason for these others to try and throw their life away when things could have been way worse. Even when there was someone who had the same problems as them they still didn't want to see them jump and asked them to not do it. At this point I was thinking "oh hey maybe despite how much they may want to jump maybe secretly they don't actually want to do it and and in a way they're telling themselves to stop when they said it to that other person". I thought when mc finally found no one on the roof when they showed up and finally decided to jump, I thought the ending would be a bit more lighthearted than this. I was thinking maybe mc was just a bit early, and how maybe the three guys who they talked out of jumping earlier would catch him just before he was going to jump. At this point they would be switching roles and the people that mc saved would be saving them instead. I thought they would talk them out of it and that they would show the mc that there were people who worry about them after all, and that maybe they could all become good friends and have found someone who they could share their hardships with and vise versa. Well it was a nice thought at least.

Bakugou showed some signs of guilt and concern when he saw Deku’s arm crippled and destroyed when he used his Quirk to blow up the upper floors of the building they were in when they first fought. His expression briefly showed that much, but he didn’t outwardly say or do anything to help him or apologize.
Bakugou would probably be a little shocked if he heard about Midoriya’s suicide, and he’d definitely get in trouble with the school staff or both their parents if Midoriya showed any signs that Bakugou was the main cause of his suicide (in, say, a suicide note or something), but I doubt he’d dwell on it for too long.
Since this song takes place in the very beginning of the story, before Deku met All Might and before Deku saved Bakugou’s life, Bakugou is at his *worst* here. He hasn’t even started his long, long road to development yet. He’d dwell on his actions for a little while, but I doubt he’d let this get to him, and he'd eventually just rationalize any guilt he might feel by saying, “Deku was just weak, that’s all. He couldn’t handle being a Quirkless loser, so that's why the dumbass killed himself.”
And then he'd just move on with his life.
Fans like to paint Bakugou with more of a conscience than he really has, or they try to make him out to be a better person than he really is, when he’s honestly not that great. He *does* develop, yeah, but it’s been a very, very slow process. Even after Deku saved Kacchan’s life from the sludge villain, or after all the times Deku tried to level with him and try to have an actual conversation with him, he only ever saw Deku’s actions as condescending and mocking. And this divide between them started when they were just little kids.
Why would anyone want to hang out with Bakugou (or anyone like him) in real life? Why do people like him so much? He’s entertaining to watch, yeah, and he’s been shown to have a *few* redeeming qualities here and there overtime, but only after he’s been forcibly humiliated and humbled time and time again, and even then, he’s still not exactly the most approachable person around.
Kirishima’s been his only real friend because he doesn’t take Bakugou too seriously and he can handle him at his worst. And by the time the two even become friends in the first place, Bakugou had already softened up a little to pretty much everyone that isn’t Deku.
Sorry for rambling there. I got a little carried away... People like to exaggerate Deku’s and Kacchan’s relationship as "puppy love" (an angry bulldog with a shaking chihuahua), despite the *series itself* acknowledging (during the Final Exams arc in season 2) through the school staff’s view of them that their relations with each other are extremely volatile, unhealthy, and toxic, and their interactions *hardly* change at all once the exams are over. Just because Bakugou and Midoriya managed to work together this one time doesn't mean they're suddenly on the road to becoming friends.

It doesn't matter if Bakugou "knew" Deku wouldn't jump. Telling anyone to commit suicide by jumping off the school roof, destroying their notes on becoming a hero and tossing it into a pond for fish to eat, threatening them by telling them not to follow their dreams, and demeaning them and insulting them for hardly any reason are things *no one* should do, regardless of how much a bully *thinks* they "know" their victim. That just doesn't fly.
A person could bully and talk down to their best friend for years and they could still end up committing suicide despite the bully thinking they "know" they won't do it. And even if they won't, that doesn't change the fact that this kind of relationship is extremely toxic and unhealthy (Aizawa, Recovery Girl, and even All Might are quick to point this out when Bakugou and Deku are forced to try and team up during Final Exams).
Bakugou can't read minds. And Deku may be plucky and resilient, but he was still very close to giving up, especially when All Might told him to. It's part of why he always cries and bawls his eyes out whenever someone ends up tolerating him in the beginning, or whenever something fortunate happens to him. He's gone through so much strife that he feels more blessed than anyone else whenever something good happens to him, to the point he doesn't think he deserves it.
Just because Deku is smart when it comes to his studies and his aspirations (like how you said Bakugou figured Deku would be smart enough to end up in U.A.) doesn't mean he's strong mentally. Don't get me wrong, Deku *is* pretty strong-willed; otherwise he wouldn't have been able to have made it this far, but at the same time, what if everything Bakugou wanted *did* happen? Deku *didn't* get into U.A. and stayed a "Quirkless loser" and ended up fading into obscurity from Bakugou's life as he fell into some other Quirkless position?
Deku would be miserable. All that time dreaming and analyzing and training and taking notes for nothing. Heroes aren't always good people; most are just normal people after a specific occupation, or people with an agenda trying to gain fame and recognition, and not exaggerated, moral pillars of justice. Bakugou is a combination of the first two; he just wants to be the best and the new #1 Hero, when it comes to both strength and helping people, but the manga has shown from his failures that he's not very good at the latter.
There's a reason why so many characters in the series think or assume Bakugou is villainous, and in his own way, he is. He's not willing to do things like steal or kill or torture innocent people or take over the world like the League of Villains are, but before all the development he received before the manga reached the current point in the story it's at right now, he was no different than an ordinary bully, at least when Midoriya is concerned.
Even if Bakugou isn't a villain by traditional standards, he's still an asshole, and with how thickheaded he is, it's ridiculous it's taken him this much to even *partially* realize that *maybe* Deku being nice to him all this time wasn't just him mocking him. Kirishima openly mocks Bakugou all the time as his friend and he's at least wise enough to get the message there, but not with Deku, apparently, because for most of the story he likes to think of him as a pebble on the side of the road he can ignore or a bug he can squish anytime he wants.
BakuDeku won't happen because Midoriya and Uraraka are obviously meant to be the canon pair here. I don't want to devolve this conversation into shipping wars, because honestly, I don't care about who ends up with who, but platonically, Bakugou and Midoriya are from being on good terms right now as it is.
And to me, if Deku were to commit suicide, then I do honestly feel Bakugou's guilt would mainly revolve around his dream and ego being crushed because he indirectly caused him to do that. Not because Midoriya specifically took his own life. Remember that this song takes place when they were in middle school, before Bakugou even *started* developing.
First of all I AGREE with your first AND second statement. I never defended Bakugou or his behavior, just stated the obvious fact that he knew Izuku was mentally strong.
On the second note, yes he was close to giving up, but not on life, just being a hero. Which was realistic at the time, considering he was QUIRKLESS. We can all sit here and say that no he should dream and be a hero, but the reality is if All Might did not give him a quirk Izuku should give up on his dream, because there is no was he can be a hero. That is the reasoning (which I still DO NOT AGREE with) that some people have, that Bakugou was an asshole and basically evil, just to crush Izukus' dream of becoming a hero to save him from harm (or certain death as a QUIRKLESS person going against ANY quirk).
The reason he "bawls his eyes out" with All Might is because he made his dream true. He was acknowledged as a hero by his ultimate hero. However, while I agree that he appreciates what he has (friends, quirk...) more than others, because he did not have any of that, I would disagree that he does that "to the point he doesn't think he deserves it". He did not show that kind of behavior or any such thought in the manga, so no he does not think that he doesn't deserve it, he just know how lucky he is to have those things more then other do, because as the saying goes "You never knew what you had until you lost it.", which he did.
So what if it all happened as Bakugou wished. So what if Deku never becomes a hero. At the beginning of the manga and anime you hear the words "People are not born equal.". This is what the manga develops on, both with heroes and villains. We can see even that it DID NOT matter if Izuku was not chosen as the next successor, because there were other, logically better choices. What All Might has done with Izuku was a gamble, one that payed off, sure, but still a gamble. However there are a xxxx of other Izukus' out there in the world that did not get the chance of being a hero, or something so horrible happened to them that they became villains (Tomura is one of them, he is a flipped side of Izuku). If he did not become a hero, after a while he would, as most people with unattainable dreams, move on with his life. Sometimes you don't get what you want, that is a fact of life. Which is another reason I like this manga/anime. It doesn't present anything as black and white, just gray. Why did some become a villain, because of society. Take for example Himiko. She clearly is insane and belongs in a institution, but once captured she is just another villain that will be locked up and forgotten about. That is the thing, this is a mostly realistic "World is not fair" manga, which I like.
See you deem Bakugou as a villain/bully (which I agree upon), but again it is the society that made him become what he was. He could do no wrong, because he was the next hero. Meaning that nobody ever even stopped him in doing his villainous things. The thing about children is that they do not have a conscience, it is a learned behavior, one that society teaches us. However, Bakugou has grown up in a society where a strong quirk is everything and he could do no wrong. Which lead him to become the "bully" he was. He is the perfect example of a child that never heard the word "No/What you are doing is wrong". Again that connects to the "People are not born equal.".
You take Kirishima as an example, but even Deku gave you the answer as to why Bakugou considers him a friend. Because of his strength and his resilience. I mean look at Bakugous mother, she has the same behavior as him, they are basically both tsundere at the core, but learn to mellow down (we can see that when Bakugou pays back Kirishima for the goggles that he got in order to save him). Again, this does not excuse his behavior and he defensively was NOT a tsundere towards Izuku, he was just a bully. Also, "but not with Deku, apparently, because he for most of the story he likes to think of him as a pebble on the side of the road he can ignore or a bug he can squish anytime he wants" this part got me, yet he never ignores ANYTHING about Izuku, and I do mean ANYTHING. He sees and reacts to everything Izuku does, yet does no such thing with others, he does not even notice other people for most part (seeing as how he did not even know their quirks during the cavalry battle). The reason behind this is still unknown and I will not pretend to know it since it is not out in the manga.

While yes as of now they are the clear possible pairing, I would not agree that they are as of yet cannon. We only see Urarakas' side of this "love", but as of now it is one sided. Also, Uraraka never specifies what she feels towards Izuku, just that she might feel something. Furthermore, that was encouraged by her classmates, the only thing she herself knows at the moment is that she admires Deku. If we go by the logic of each girl Izuku blushed in front of we can take Mai Hatsume into consideration. I mean there is no development in their relationship whatsoever, he could as easily end up with Asui or anyone else. MY OPINION: However, the thing that I would argue with Izuku is that he is bi or pan sexual. I mean that is the only explanation I have for him always sticking with Bakugou as a child (I assume it was puppy love that he had for Bakugou, because there is no other reason for him to stick to him as he did), it would also explain why he still strongly cares for him. It would mean that Bakugou was his first crush/love, but I do think that he no longer feels that way, thanks to Bakugou. END OF MY OPINION
All I have to say for your last statement is that I agree that that is a possibility, but we will never know for sure if it is what would happen. Which is why I wrote that as just that, a possibility.
Also for the cannon part, or what the characters think/feel, let us stick to facts and not put opinions about it. I am that type of a person, let's just stick to what the CREATOR of the manga wrote and not add anything to the characters, because that is who they are and what they feel. They feel/think exactly what the CREATOR wants them to feel and nothing more or less. Until he is confirmed anything we cannot know anything for sure. In the end, this is a very realistic anime, so I am just going to ask you...How many people are still together with the people they were with when they were in high school? So even if somebody ends up with somebody (meaning Izuku x Uraraka/Todoroki/Asui/Mei/Bakugou) there is always a possibility that they will break up.
When I said Bakugou thought Deku was "a pebble on the side of the road" or a "bug he could crush whenever he wants, those were *actual* quotes he said in the anime, both in the sub and the dub (proof: this clip in episode 6 - ua-cam.com/video/E3yuCmvajYo/v-deo.html).
He said this quote to himself after he saw Deku suddenly do well in Aizawa's softball test with his Quirk. Bakugou *did* figure Deku was an insignificant to him, that he was nothing, and that he was better than him, until he was shocked that Deku suddenly had a Quirk. For example, Bakugou made it clear he wasn't paying attention when he didn't know Deku passed the entrance exams by completely destroying the 0-point giant robot with his Quirk despite pretty much everyone else in 1-A knowing about it.
So you can't say that Bakugou "doesn't ignore" Deku; he has, and only made fun of him in middle school for fun and to stroke his ego. He doesn't obsess over it and only cares more about improving himself for most of the earlier arcs than being near Deku; he's only around him every now and then because they happen to be in the same class.
Bakugou is only constantly shocked and angry at Deku because he constantly sees him improving in class. He normally ignored him, but since they're in the same class, he gets to see how much stronger Deku becomes overtime, and that's what makes him mad.
You're right in saying that Bakugou is who he is because of how this series's society works; no one ever did tell Bakugou that anything he was doing was wrong because all the kids thought he was so cool and all the adults were impressed by his super-strong and versatile Quirk and felt he had a bright future ahead of him, and ignored all the bad things he did.
It doesn't justify him being jerk for most of the series, but his reasoning for why he became like this makes sense. He had no limiters or controllers telling him what to do and keeping him in check.
And sorry for bringing shipping into this. You're right that MHA is does a good job in writing its characters in a pretty realistic light when it comes to depth and how they act around each other, and people are free to assume whatever sexualities they want when it comes to what the characters prefer.
