Will I ever stop being incredibly bitter over the fact that Damon and Bonnie were the ONE tvd couple that stayed platonic when it really shouldn't have? (the answer is no)
I've been planning to vid them to this song since I first heard it because it reminds me so so much of them and what they could've (and should've) been. The sense of longing that surrounds their relationship, the way they inspire each other to be better, to be strong and to fight for each other, the way they evolved from hating each other to deeply trust and rely on one another; all of the things that make them so unique is described by the lyrics of the song and that's exactly what I've wanted to show here.
Damon chose to value and love Bonnie as a person in a way he never loved or valued anyone else, the deep respect and admiration he has for her will always amaze and inspire me and despite everything, I'm glad that they stayed friends until the end of the series. With everything the writers destroyed, that's something I'm thankful for.
I'm not 100% happy with this video, but I'm uploading it anyway because I missed vidding them and I haven't done a tribute to their story since tvd ended. I have plans for at least 2 more bamon vids, but who knows when I'll have enough inspiration to finish them.
I hope you like it. Vidding Bamon feels like coming home. Always has, always will. I love them almost as much as they love each other. ♥

Here I am still sobbing over this beautiful ship and this amazing video. This will forever be my fave Bamon video. You really showed their beautiful development oh my god. What I like about their friendship is that Bonnie forced him to pay for his mistakes. Elena just forgived him for everything, even when she didn't want to. Bonnie actually made him grow into someone honorable.

And yes their relationship was rocky but so is most real relationships, if its always perfect and no bumps in the road its either one not real or two its gonna happen eventually and just hasn't yet. Its like if you never fight with your best friend are you really best friends? If you never have quarrels or bickering with your s/o then yall trying to hard to be like people on TV because real relationships have ups and downs. Delena is toxic and literally all they ever do is have sex, make out, hurt each other, break up, get back together and do it all over again.

Name one actual "perfect" relationship on there. Name one, cuz I bet I can name some flaws in that one too. Yes Bamon had it flaws but those flaws also gave them more chemistry. Yes he said that but everyone knows he couldn't live without Bonnie being there, he even said it himself. Yes he brought Kai to Bonnie but Kai was also manipulating him to do so Damon could go to the prison world his mom was in and release her. Damon also didn't know all what Kai did to her, yea he shot her but everyone has hurt each other physically on that show at some point so it wasn't that big of a deal. I never said that Bamon was perfect, I know it has its flaws, and thats what makes it so real. The best relationships start out as best friends and the best kind of best friend relationships are the ones that started out with them hating each other.

One of my favorites scenes in the entire show is when Bonnie made Damon feel guilty for not saying goodbye & when Damon recited the letter to Bonnie. That's one thing they got right over the years, the transformation of their relationship from hating each other to protecting one another.
My favourite scene of the show..what amazes more with their relationship is the fact that they actually didn't like each other in real life

i think it would've been better if Bamon had a relationship. Magic Books Stefan supposed to kill bonnies mother but damon did it so he wouldnt be hated. He cared about bonnie even before but elena was more important to him between them two. He rescued bonnie several times like when she was stuck on the island or from alaric/klaus, or when she was bitten. Don’t also forgot that he was the one who protected the bennets for the deal he made with emily. But yes the turned into bffs when they got stuck in the prison world. Along with Stephan, Elena, Bonnie is the one who he is fiercely protective about. He cares about Caroline, Alaric, Enzo, Jeremy, etc but those 3 he loves the most.
Joel Fernandez no Kevin Williamson wanted Stelena. Julie has also been a Delena shipper. Elena deserved to be alone if u ask me. Dating ur exes brother is mean and heartless and she didn’t even talk to Stefan about it first, she made out with Damon while she was with Stefan. Then she slept with Damon right after she broke Stefan’s heart. That is a cold hearted women right there.

I have a feeling if damon hadn't chosen to go in that coffin with elena, he would've ended up with bonnie. Enzo and bonnie would have never gotten closer, which would be awful, but I still wish damon and bonnie had a chance. I had predicted that with elena gone, damon would fall in love with bonnie and be with her until she died and elena woke up.
I'm so thankful for this friendship, but at times I wish it was more :')

Bonnie actually held Damon accountable for his actions, unlike Elena who always forgave him too easily.
Something about how Damon never choked through an apology or a thank you to Bonnie gets to me.
There was so much respect there even when they hated each other. I really don't think he gave anyone else the same level of respect.
Also, she never took his shit so he never gave her shit apologies or thank yous. A lot of his most genuine moments were with her

Damon and Bonnie's relationship was the most explosive relationship ever. They fought for each other, frustrated each other, but came back stronger each time. This was the purest love, I've ever witnessed or seen on the show. It truthfully and honestly does something funny to my heart, if in some other TVD universe Bonnie and Damon actually surpassed the platonic level that they were tip toeing around through season 5-8, I SWEAR TO GOD, I'd lose my ever-lasting mind. This is the kind of chemistry, that makes a mf jealous that their life is so.. simple. You know?

I loved how Damon said " we wouldn't want that" 😭 but fr tho this is one of my favorite tribute videos of all time. Honesty, they would've been great as a couple but I do love their friendship. It is the most important thing to them and she even called Damon her favorite person on earth. Their friendship is without a doubt the biggest takeaway I can get from season 7, it was challenged and in the end they were meant to be best friends. I really do envy their love for each other.

i never understood why damon and elena were even interested in each other. Damon only really liked her cos she was nice to him and looked like Katherine. But you know what, He ADMIRED bonnie. You really get to see his awe and appreciation for her and she changes him and makes him a better person than Elena ever will. Literally, Elena "changing" Damon was so co-dependent and he only changed for her. Bonnie would've changed Damon for HIMSELF and made him a better person because she actually holds him accountable. THEY WOULD'VE SERVED ENEMIES TO LOVERS. They're chemistry was phenomenal and even enzo knew that bonnie liked Damon more than a friends and him desiccating hurt her so bad she had to go to therapy like WHAT.

There was undeniably something more than a friendship no matter who the two were in love with or how much they loved that person. They are an absolutely magical couple. Whether you ship them romantically or platonically. And so was Bonenzo. But some people prefer Bamon. They were enemies and slowly transitioned to having a beautiful relationship.
