    Sometimes when I see lots of negative comments on these videos it reminds me why FPU never runs out of students…

    • @stevenporter863
      @stevenporter863 7 місяців тому +1

      There is more than the one way to responsibly run ones finances. FPU is more targeted to those who overspend, no self discipline and/or have debt (over 30 days old, credit cards are not debt until past the grace period).

      @jloop_2008 and it's comments precisely like yours that prove there are plenty of morons on this planet remaining...who prefer to focus more on trying to look smarter than others...rather than having ans using critical thinking skills to know facts > your feelings.
      You gave absolutely nothing to show that anything Rachel said in this video was incorrect...aka you brough5 nothing of wisdom or intelligence to the comments section.
      So YES you are the one in need of help here..
      Move on troll. No food here

    I wish the Ramsey team would create a course called "It's Never Too Late" for those of us older folks, especially if you're single as many of us are after death or divorce. It's easy to see how long-term saving and investing over 20+ years can generate wealth but how do you do it after retirement? Even if you're debt-free and earning extra money with side hustles, there's only so much time your money has to grow. Or is living Social Security check to check the best we can hope for?

    Using a credit card requires discipline. Yes, studies have shown you spend more but there are ways to counteract this, ie. prepaying the credit card so you have a negative balance, and having 0 be your default.

    Using a credit card increases cost of living for everyone. When most people switched to online shopping with credit cards the usage fee caused prices to sky rocket. The percentage you get back in points is far less than the increased prices. So instead of getting %3-5 back to spend where/how you're told to. Save up to %8 upfront and keep prices down, again saving money. You always have to pay to play when it's someone else's game.

    I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments. I purchased my first home at the age of 21 for $87,000 and sold it for $197,000. My second home, acquired for $170,000, was later sold for $320,000, and my third property, purchased at $300,000, fetched $589,000, with buyers covering all closing costs and expenses. Not reaching a million before retirement feels like an unfulfilled goal.-

    When you borrow money to invest and make more money, you make you and the lender some money. When you, the borrower, are also the lender? Bruh!
    However, you don't start out that way. That's great of you already have enough to be able to do those things. Just make sure you are borrowing for the right reasons.

      Then take advice directly from her father? Surely being forced to declare bankruptcy and losing everything while having young children is just about as much of a struggle financially that anyone can go through.
      Velocity banking can work. Just like how people CAN treat a credit card as cash and pay it in full every month….or finance large purchases and make more in the end by investing the cash elsewhere. Judging by the fact that you’ve been self admittedly stuck in baby step 1 for years….I’m going to go out on a limb and say that velocity banking will NOT work in your favour, and will lead to further struggles down the road.
      If you already have access to the line of credit and the interest rate is on that is a lot lower than all of your other debts combined…. why not use it to pay them all off in full, and then focus your work on BS1 to paying off the line of credit in full instead? You’ll save on the interest, and you’ll only have 1 payment to make. I still have doubts that you’d be able to pull that off successfully…but I have far more confidence in that working for you over velocity banking.
