    It's a shame you weren't impressed by the smaller Sonik sleeves, as I can't fault them considering they're smaller than any full-size rod bag, albeit a tad snug. The inside of the zip is a rounded flat profile designed to not interfere with the rod, so unsure how it had scratched yours

    • @CaravanCarpers
      @CaravanCarpers  11 місяців тому

      I do love the main bag but like I said not a fan of the smaller ones. It was more the constant rubbing up and down the blank when opening and closing that caused it. Yea it’s rounded but it still did mark the blank pal.

    Hi I noticed you got some cream seed in the background, what's your thoughts on that bait? Currently on a freezer bait but thinking of switching to shelf life and turning the bait freezer off with rising costs. There's some good deals on munch baits at Go outdoors.

    • @CaravanCarpers
      @CaravanCarpers  Рік тому +1

      Hiya pal i dont mind it, a lot of people slag it off but its soft enough ect, ive got about 70kg of munch to get through still. Its no where near as good as the Parker Baits but thats only freezer atm.

    Just bought all the TA luggage including them rod sleeves and the quiver, I find the quiver awesome as it holds all my rods in the sleeves and locks them in with out sliding around like you mentioned you struggled with. Also, takes my net, handle, leads ect cracking bits of kit. Folds down to nothing and slips under my bed chair. Great video !

    New to your channel and I am enjoying watching,
    I have had the rod sleeves for a few years as I also have 12 and 13ft rods now as I got feed up of the rod holders to big for the car and when I travel to France with my bothering law they end up around our ears but with the single sleeves I tuck them down the gap between the door and from seat just have to be carful getting in and out.
    I think the elastic step is not quite strong enough and does not feel as tights it could be and the adjuster does twist but its not the end of the world, like you don't like how they move about so your tip to strap the tops will be tried out, I also brought the top and tip straps which I have put on my Nash rods which are brilliant and have used them to take one rod and a landing net around smaller lakes I keep them on the rods inside the sleeves and stops them moving about.
    I brought the rucksack a few months ago and I love it as its changed my fishing I used to caring my hook baits seperately along with my jag gear but it has made me scale down so a could of pots of hook baits some goo pie eat in the front pocket bank sticks in the front compac taclesafe box 220 inside with a towel and the waterproof ground sheet, my small scales sunglasses charger radio in one side pocket, the inside pocket in the lid I use for my membership cards etc. what you did forget was the little try that pulls out the top that so handy.
    I also have two Nash 9ft Dwarf rods and I use the sonik two rod holder which I such good quality for the price point with the Nash extenable landing net strap to the side my Korda distance stick in the little bottom pocket and some leads in the pocket your fishing, keep that my rucksack and a bucket and a mat in the car job done. I have struggle with an unhooking mat so I will look at the thinking angers one thanks for the insight. Keep doing these reviews very useful cheers Kevlar.

      Hi Kevlar 💪🏻Thanks for watching sorry on the late reply its been my lads birthday! I just get some velcro straps works a treat top or bottom 👌🏻
      I use the tops tips for my 6ft scopes and 10ft scopes, great arnt they. Never bothered with the reel protectors as i house my rods and net inside my mat. Works a treat when staying mobile.
      Mega isnt it the rucksack the small ridge monkey kettle fits perfectly in a side pocket thats a good little thing too.
      Ill be back on it soon pal not long at all thanks again

      @@CaravanCarpers but if I wasn't using a barrow then I don't think carrying a striped amount of gear loose will be an issue with 1 rod but when using a barrow do you just chuck your net, retainer etc loose on top?
      I'm probably getting Cotswold rod pace compacts. They look really good for the money and British built.

    • @CaravanCarpers
      @CaravanCarpers  2 роки тому +1

      @@dalefalgate2716 one of 2 options there pal. Put it inside your unhooking mat folded in half if you use one and on the handles of your barrow or I put my net and sling ect into a stink bag on it just goes on top then next to your rods never had an issue that way pal all kept together with the barrow straps

    I use a lot of Sonik gear. I can see why some of it is labelled as “budget” but honestly their SK-Tek gear is top notch. I have the sonik sk-tek rod sleeves for my 10ft and 12ft setups. I’ll most likely do up a review of them for some friends that have been asking.

      @CaravanCarpers  2 роки тому +1

      Hiya pal! No I totally agree, people do see so it that was and in all fairness the extractor rods are great, I got scopes for the caravan for a steal price and I would be more than happy to go back to the extractors if I broke them. I do like a lot of the sonic range it’s come a long way. 💯 get one done pal 👌🏻

    Nice review. I have most the thinking anglers camfleck luggage and it's impressive. I fish all through the winter and like you mentioned about luggage sucking up the moisture/water I found this winter this luggage didn't do this. At one point I had a stream coming through the bivvy and they was sat in it all night. And nothing inside the bags which was good.

    TA equipment is fine except for the backpack! I don't know who designed that thing, but he's clearly never had a quality backpack on! Because the TA backpack is really worthless junk. Just like the price for that money, you also have a backpack from Berghaus. You can't even walk 10 meters with this thing. I just went back to my old defense berghaus backpack! 15 years old but fits perfectly and has never let me down.

    I’ve got the sonik sk tek 10ft rod hold-all can’t fault it

    HI lee, I have two sonik sk-tec single rod sleeves and I love them, I👍👍 do not find any of the issues that you described with my sleeves, I store both rods and reels, landing net pole, landing net, weigh sling, rigs which I take off my rods when I pack up and store in the zipped lead pouch, and also a brolly shelter, which I attatch both together using the inbuilt eylets and handles, also I have no issues with the zips scratching the rods or the rods and reels not going in, sometimes it comes down to how you best use the product that you have, to get the best out of the product, the zips are on the back because of you snagging the line if you leave your rod rigged up when packing up, its funny how one person can have issues and another person does not, you just have to figure out the best way of using the product which you have purchased unless it has really poor design or build quality issues, which causes usage or performance issues, but hay ho opinions vary with products mainly because of how the individual uses the product more than the product being not good, thats why you can look at any tackle review and there is not one product that everyone likes as we are all different and we all operate differently, thanks lee, keep up the good work😅👏and tight lines🎣.

      Hi Dezzy I’ll write a full reply but just a quick one are you talking about the 10ft adapta sleeves as that’s the ones I’m talking about. I’ve had the 10ft single bag for the extractors and that’s bang on so just making sure I’ve not got my wires crossed before I reply if that makes sense. Lee

      @@CaravanCarpers hi Lee, I am talking about the sk-tek single adapta rod sleeves which can hold 12-13ft rods as I have both but at the moment I am using them to hold my main rods and reels which are daiwa longbow df 12ft 3.75tc 50 mm ring pattern these are the original longbows as the blank's are the magnum taper which are used on the infinity's and I have the daiwa 19 emblem 45 scw black reels on them, as I said I have had no problems with the sleeves, l also forgot to mention that they are padded sleeves as well which is a bonus, thanks for the reply,
      Regards Dez!

      Cheers pal thanks for your reply. The ones I have are the 9-10ft versions and I’m using them with 10ft Daiwa infinity evo MTs. What happens with mine is they are as far extended as possible so any further and the top section parts from the main sleeve. It’s a squeeze to get the rod in with Castizm 25 qda reels. What it does because it’s so tight it kind of bows the rod slightly pressing it towards the zip. So the zip runs along the blank then touching it. I think it would be fine with a 9ft rod but it a pain with the 10ft. Yea they are made really well can’t disagree as I’ve said I love the proper rod bag they are all well padded. I wonder if you had 13ft rods would you experience the same. Lee

      @@CaravanCarpers hi Lee if you are having problems with them at full extension then it sounds to me that there is a bit of inaccuracy in the product itself, at the end of the day the product should do what it says on the tin if not I would get in touch with the manufacturer,
      Regards Dez!
