Wow!! He is the epitome of the Olympic spirit. It’s incredible that he was up & walking on that leg the day after his surgery. It’s a shame the 2020 Olympics had to be postponed and I wish him luck in 2021!!
I sustained the same tib/fib break as him during a bad landing at gymnastics training in early January. Got a tibial nail too (although with insertion point below the knee - his was from the side). I was walking with two crutches the day after my surgery, one crutch the week after, unassisted the week after that. Seeing the footage of how he recovered really inspired me. I think I might've beaten his full recovery time if the gyms had not been closed because of the virus! Nonetheless, even without gymnastics facilities, Olympic-level coaches and advanced training equipment I'm doing well: already walking fast again, going down stairs normally, and distance is not a problem! All I've been doing is calisthenics, walking, and some resistance band work to strengthen my leg. Plus, loads of sleep and broccoli! Can't wait to see Amir Aït Said kick ass again in 2021 hopefully! Keep your head up, keep going, get awesome ☺
He got a heavy upper body that's why it's so dangerous that might broke his leg again. Needs to reduce some weight before he gets back into it and compete again to the Olympic. But he just keeps on dreaming, his fighting spirit still in there...
