Kate, we the new pyro solver, how can one save rest points when saving a cache to disk...so one can does not need to start the cache from frame 1 but rather, from any point in the simulation?
great! youre awsome :) i want to use this to make a dynamic fog around my charecter. is there a way to make the cloud be dynamic and animated and working wiith the collision together?
@@proceduralkateFirst of all thanks for the reply. I understood using the pyro solver, but in Houdini 18.5, the setup SDF collider tab is not visible in the quick setup.
Ah yeah I noiticed that in 19.5 as well. This tut was from 19. New tutorials in progress :). But a good fix is just to use a file cache to save out one frame
Nice tutorial, clear and straight to the point. Exactly what I was searching for, thanks Kate!
You're the Best Kate, I look forward to everyone of your tutorials!!!

and how can we add a ground plane with the pyro sop solver?
My Houdini is version 18.5, so there is no quick setup. What should I do?
There should be a setup in your tab menu. type in Billowy smoke and you should see it

2:08 - The timeshift thingy doesn't work in H20. The cloud disappears when you scrub the timeline.

I had the same issue, but I turned off dissipation in the pyro solver and that worked.
