Great vid guys. Chuckling at the creepy wall pics 😂 Mark, glad you made a point about how long it takes to edit videos, as most don’t realise how much effort goes into producing just a 15 minute video. Multiple cameras, stopping to change batteries, SD cards, sifting through hours and hours of footage, constantly switching camera angles to keep it interesting, finding copyright free backing music, recording and rerecording voiceovers…… shout out to all the amateur filmmakers out there 👍

Thank you for sharing your adventures. I hope you came along the coast here on the Costa Almeria. You’re right about motorcycle touring being an adventure. I did the same ferry on my bike ‘Bob’ a few years ago and apart from some mechanical issues had a brilliant time. The good thing about touring is the workshops will give tourers priority over their regular customers. I was away for a few weeks and needed two visits to workshops. One of them, he stopped what he was working on and got ‘Bob’ back on the road. The other one had to order parts but he jumped me up the queue and got Bob going again asap. Forgetting the bike cover and being on my own I got a bit paranoid about my bike security, to the extent that one warm night in a noisy Pamplona I came out of my comfy hotel room and slept on the bench next to ‘Bob’. The next morning the receptionist woke me up with coffee and warm bread. I’m not sure if she just wanted me gone but I actually slept really well.

35 years ago, there or thereabouts, my Mrs and I toured France from Scotland in our car many times. We only booked our ferries and nowt else. We would stay off motorways and literally toss a coin at major junctions to decide on where to go next. We never struggled for somewhere to stay and had great times.
A great opening 4mins, an otherworldly road dream, warm colour tones with soft focus....the back road to Spain inviting you to come along. Looking forward to what comes next. Cheers man
Years ago, I had some friends that lived in Plympton, on the outskirts of Dartmoor. I did a tour around there, on an old GPZ600. I remember the weather was better when I was there.....although it did rain. And although beautiful, in its own way, I found it very bleak. This was during the big foot and mouth thing, maybe 20 odd years ago, so a lot of it was closed off. Taking a travel guitar on a tour or Spain, that's epic ! Im really looking forward to seeing the rest of this series ! Ride on guys. !

Ahh the Pont Aven , they pack you in like metal sardines in the bowel of the boat, then you pick a broom cupboard for your cabin ohh dear !!! . I suppose all the money was blown at Two Bridges, lol
Haha they do . First time for me and last .. I’ll do the ride across France any day over the ferry . We blew it out on the way back and rode over the Pyrenees and across France … much more fun . I always felt the ferry wasn’t for me , but had to try it once to know that I’m always bloody right didn’t I . Two Bridges is a lot more expensive than wild camp , but to be fair . We had a lovely night , it was really different.. I felt pretty out of place but I do like feeling out of place .. just for a while . I felt out of place on the ferry to tbf .
@@LeanIntoTheWind Living in N.I. we have no choice but to go by boat when travelling by bike or car, but next year we are going to Normandy, so determined to not do an over night boat both ways. Larne Cairnryan then Tunnel and back saving us a fortune. Ireland to France one way 600euro.

Just sorted my first proper big road trip with my brother to Wheels and Waves, 2025 in Biarritz, France. We are calling it the 50/50 to celebrate him turning 50 and me turning 52!! It will be two weeks in total and I’m looking forward to it. A bit of camping on the way down and a few days in an apartment when we get there. It’s going to be an adventure of a lifetime!!

Humour, tragedy and stark realism doesn't come any better than Mike Leigh. Just watched your video again, really beautifully edited and your use of filters is fantastic. Gives a whole nostalgic , timeless feel which is really engrossing. Magic!
Another enjoyable video! I live about 45 mins from Dartmoor and love riding up there for the feeling it gives me, such a huge sky and wide open space makes me feel free. Mind you, it gets a bit grim in winter. Congratulations on the 5000. All the best IanP

Another wonderful video. 8 hours spent editing is time well spent for films like this. I watched the POV rides but I always find POV frustrating. Can you cope with riding pillion? I know I can't. It is the same with POV. I keep going for the brake or clutch, stressing about gear changes and the line through corners 😫🙈. I need someone talking or something happening 🤣

It did have a damp Problem apparently… maybe we were too harsh .. but they shouldn’t have put anyone in there , let alone two people with cameras !!! Second room Was sweet .. lovely place. Bit pricey for me but I’ve already said to Lisa she getting an apple and an orange for Christmas. Cheers bud

It was a good decision to go up a day early , blessed with that sun : we only had 40 minutes across Dartmoor on Sunday in rain , but even that stopped by time we got to Plymouth. Posh hotels always stink of old folk and used money. Think I would feel so out of place particularly with the wee guy playing the piano, think im too working class.Food looked really nice though. Enjoy the trip. Happy trails.
@@thebimblewizard1242 is that a fact , this must be my first posh one , as never had that .. tbf they had had work men in as damp issues .. that was my first piano dinner experience, I didn’t mind it , but I’d sooner have been wold camping round the fire , but it’s give and take sometimes . One thing I learnt about UA-cam … there is no understanding it . A video I think will work , will bomb , one I’m doubtful of .. will get a ton of plays , no rhyme or reason.. but stoked some of them gone well . Trip was bloody fantastic. Best wishes

Will do some winter camps etc but next big one Scotland in 25 soon as weather allows , hopefully April . Before midges come out . But need snow gone haha .. don’t know in summer but somewhere hot .

Great video as usual. Love it. Me and Sharon prefer camping however like you guys an occasionally stay in a nice hotel is great. We too noticed some of the rooms smell of old people. Sometimes I say to Sharon fuck me another smelly room however at 55 perhaps it’s us that ming. I perish the thought of that day. 😂😂 stay safe guys and enjoy the sun cos their ain’t much of it back home.

It was in my mind because it was the name of a character of a story I wrote , the girl was one who’d never give up, no matter what a true survivor against all odds . And it was for that I used it on our new motorcycle. I was only about 10 minutes into the ride home .. from the guy I her off , when I remembered that name . It was a weird transaction as week I got there I had guilt , he was selling her cheap as needed fast sale ; he needed money desperately, so he was losing almost 10 grand and had only owned the machine 3 months . So I had guilt , I only just scrapped the money together, I was stretching.. however When I got there he opened his garage door and I immediately realised he was a Nazi , there was flags and memorabilia everywhere, and instantly all my guilt evaporated. And I realised I was there for a reason , fate led me to his door , There was no way that beautiful motorcycle was staying in that place .. anyway . . That’s how we found each other . Lisa was with me and she took a secret photo in garage as we thought no one would ever believe these people are out there , in a little sleepy village in Summerset . Best wishes and merry Christmas

Nuts in May (camping video where bloke goes mad, Hilarious!) but his run of High Hopes, Life Is Sweet, Naked *my favourite ever film) and Secrets and Lies are all classics as far as I'm concerned. Humour, tragedy and stark realism doesn't come any better than Mike Leigh. Just watched your video again, really beautifully edited and your use of filters is fantastic. Gives a whole nostalgic , timeless feel which is really engrossing. Magic!

Another enjoyable video! I live about 45 mins from Dartmoor and love riding up there for the feeling it gives me, such a huge sky and wide open space makes me feel free. Mind you, it gets a bit grim in winter. Congratulations on the 5000. All the best IanP

Another wonderful video. 8 hours spent editing is time well spent for films like this. I watched the POV rides but I always find POV frustrating. Can you cope with riding pillion? I know I can't. It is the same with POV. I keep going for the brake or clutch, stressing about gear changes and the line through corners 😫🙈. I need someone talking or something happening 🤣

@@hobbs7ly Yeah I’m with you on that . It was a good decision to go up a day early , blessed with that sun : we only had 40 minutes across Dartmoor on Sunday in rain , but even that stopped by time we got to Plymouth. That’s amazing the power of video , that’s a huge compliment. We thank you 🙏

Posh hotels always stink of old folk and used money. Think I would feel so out of place particularly with the wee guy playing the piano, think im too working class.Food looked really nice though. Enjoy the trip. Happy trails.
@@thebimblewizard1242 is that a fact , this must be my first posh one , as never had that .. tbf they had had work men in as damp issues .. that was my first piano dinner experience, I didn’t mind it , but I’d sooner have been wold camping round the fire , but it’s give and take sometimes . It would have been tough Sunday morning in rain.

One thing I learnt about UA-cam … there is no understanding it . A video I think will work , will bomb , one I’m doubtful of .. will get a ton of plays , no rhyme or reason.. but stoked some of them gone well . Trip was bloody fantastic.

Will do some winter camps etc but next big one Scotland in 25 soon as weather allows , hopefully April . Before midges come out . But need snow gone haha .. don’t know in summer but somewhere hot .

Great video as usual. Love it. Me and Sharon prefer camping however like you guys an occasionally stay in a nice hotel is great. We too noticed some of the rooms smell of old people. Sometimes I say to Sharon fuck me another smelly room however at 55 perhaps it’s us that ming. I perish the thought of that day. 😂😂 stay safe guys and enjoy the sun cos their ain’t much of it back home.

It was in my mind because it was the name of a character of a story I wrote , the girl was one who’d never give up, no matter what a true survivor against all odds . And it was for that I used it on our new motorcycle. I was only about 10 minutes into the ride home .. from the guy I her off , when I remembered that name . It was a weird transaction as week I got there I had guilt , he was selling her cheap as needed fast sale ; he needed money desperately, so he was losing almost 10 grand and had only owned the machine 3 months . So I had guilt , I only just scrapped the money together, I was stretching.. however
When I got there he opened his garage door and I immediately realised he was a Nazi , there was flags and memorabilia everywhere, and instantly all my guilt evaporated. And I realised I was there for a reason , fate led me to his door ,
There was no way that beautiful motorcycle was staying in that place ..
anyway . . That’s how we found each other . Lisa was with me and she took a secret photo in garage as we thought no one would ever believe these people are out there , in a little sleepy village in Summerset .
