Great instructional video. However the clip removal was not shown, and that is the hardest part. On other blogs they talk about fancy tools to get it out, but i just placed the cylinder in the vice and used a flat head screwdriver to jam behind the REAR of the clip, not the ends. I tried more delicate instruments like dental pics, but they are too weak and bend. The best is a narrow width flat head driver. It has to be strong enough not to bend. Get behind it and "get ready for it to fly". Like Benz Addiction says, wear protective glasses, have it in a vice (protected with rubber like shows), and try to cup it with your other hand when it pops out. Make sure the shaft is all the way pushed down. My clip flew around the room and i got lucky as it landed in plain sight four feet away.

I did the seal replacement on my top hydraulic cylinders. Getting that circlip spring out was the hardest part. From memory I used two small terminal screw drivers to lever them out. I need to check that magnetic sensor though I don't remember my car having one, it is a 95 prefacelift model. Unfortunately, I have wiring degrading but that will be dealt with.

Hi Kevin, I have read that post 98 models don't have the magnetic sensor, but not sure. Yes removing the first clip took me 40 min and a lot of pondering. In regards to my wiring harness I have not seen any evidence so far, but I do have intermittent engine issues.

Your seals look thicker than mine that I just replaced. Are they the medium thin or the medium thick? My instructions say medium thin?
    Great video

These might be different depending on year of the car.
