Genghis Khan the great tactioner. The "Wood Cutters" out first in a line to hide their numbers till the last minute. Notice the ring in the ends of those curved blades, That was were the idea came from for the horn on the saddle came from. The blades would ring the horn, thus the term "wood cutters" (mowers werent invented yet).Used to cut down the "dead wood" fan out and mow the lawn. Straight thru come out the back and retreat with enemy in tow. Trap with hidden archers . . . the man wrote the book on strategy. Mongols were a tribe of Viking, big big men, not small like oriental.
Next he would have sent in his heavy arsenal, men on horseback covered in heavy leather or steel. Then the ground forces, men with shields to create a wall for his archers and catalups. Always leaving hand to hand combat for the last resort. He pretty much defined "divide and conquer".
