Love this tutorial!! There are so many things with illustrator I've had to learn randomly along the way on my own and little tips like this are super helpful! Thanks so much
Glad it was helpful!
Great tips/tricks. I'm an illustrator teaching myself to screen print my own gear. You videos are well done and very easy to follow. Especially needed this one! Thanks!
Glad to help!
This is great artwork! You are very good and have given me a lot of inspiration. I learned a lot. Thank you very much for letting me thank you. I will continue to support you.
Thank you so much 😀

Thanks for the sub!
Boom! Fire af!
I like that screen saver bro! Dope design even better saying.
Appreciate it!
Super helpful
Heck yeah! glad to help!
Thank you so much really a great video and helpful for me
You are most welcome
@@GoldenPressStudio love from Pakistan u r really a great instructor the way you explain is really amazing
killer work guys! big fans of all ya'll are doing. the Trick with the pencil tool was clutch! love it! Have you guys ever just used SPOT COLORs and printed out operations host-based? It will keep you from having to do the extra steps of making each layer black before your print it, and you can just hit print 1 time and it will print each layer on its own. Setting the REG marks to REG color will mean they print on each layer too. Keep killing it and doing what you do! Happy Printing!
Thanks so much man! I haven't really messed with spot colors because we didn't have a rip program for a long time. but that does sound helpful. Thanks bro
Thank you brotha
Awesome Tutorial! I learned more from this 13 minute video then you could ever know. Could you make a video on how to align the design on a screen, and the final preparations needed for printing from AI?
Great suggestion!
Yes! Please make a video on how to align the screens!
Amazing bro . I have been searching this kind of tutorial 🌹👈
Glad to hear that
@@GoldenPressStudio I have a question, that sometime customer says that reduce 5% design or increase 5% design proportionally . Please tell me how we can? Thanks in advance sir
@@amirrajput7860 We just ask for exact size and don't do percentage based changes. Keep it simple!
u a cool guy, thanks.
My dear I want to learn color separation process plz advice
I try to avoid modifying the customer's provided artwork unless *absolutely* necessary or I get approval. As a designer, I've had too many projects unexpectedly come back for proofing with drastic changes made (logos made different sizes, arranged differently than the client requested, etc.). I don't trust the print shop with adjusting my design. If you need changes, just reach out to me and let me correct my files to your needed specs.
Well I found a new person to follow. Thanks you the class man. Now can you teach us how to draw?
Thanks so much! And we will for sure be dropping more drawing and designing tuts!
Great tips. Have you ever used Photoshop to create your seps? It could save time if you're in a rush to print. I ended up creating an action in photoshop that basically does the same thing ultraseps does and it speeds up the process a bit
Yeah I actually do use photoshop to do that. Creating actions is also super helpful! great tip bro.
hello, whats the best printer i can use tp print my artwork of A3 and A4 paper size
Helpful as hell! How does this process change when its on black paper?
Like you are printing your films on black paper? If so this process wont work. These are supposed to be printed on clear film transparencies or a thinner paper. Light needs to easily pass through to expose the screen
can you do this tutorial but for procreate? plesse
Incredible tutorial!
For a white underbase do you choke the the white or expand the the color? Or does it matter?
Also, if you are just using a stroke in PS what do you typically set that at? 1pt? 2pt?
I normally choke the white and I'm not to sure about how many points in PS
Only thing i would do is add the name of each color when u seperate and print it! good vid
Absolutely! That is something I have implemented since this video.
@@GoldenPressStudio makes it easier for me when it gets to the press
@@GoldenPressStudio add it next to target lines
What if i have a blue logo (all blue) and i wanna "split" that into two colours (blue + yellow) ... down the middle, for example ... ?
appreciate u so much! one question tho. Before all this, is there any way ur supposed to set up ur design? Like my design isn't as clear as yours and has a bunch of pixels. Would that affect the outcome of the screen print? If so how can I make it so my design comes out as clear as I want it to?
Thx so much! I’m not 100% sure what your question is. Maybe you can clarify?
Why is it so hard to find people who do digital art like none of them do personal requests
Our graphic designer does tons of work for clients! Hit us up to get the ball rolling on our website in the description! Thanks for watching!!
So is there a reason that you use offset path instead of adding a stroke to the object?
You can use a stroke. I just feel more in control with the offset path and it is my preferred method.
How do you know what size art board to use though ? For a 16 x 20 screen
Art board size is determined by the size of the transparency sheet we are printing on.
What kind of printer and paper would i need to print it out? I am looking to starting my business
an inkjet printer and transparency paper. There are a lot of different options for these so you have to research and see which fits your needs.
sheeeeeeeesh
do you need to print white ink on white color tshirt or black color on black color tshirt?
No I normally just leave it as negative space.
Why are you uniting with the pathfinder at 4:20?
I was combining all of that color into one shape
would this be the same as just adding a stroke?
You can do it that way.
Can u only do this on a laptop or iPad works?
Yes!
Which program are u using in yr pc
Adobe Illustrator
Great video. But... it's okay to draw out tiny little imeperfections if it's your design. When yo have clients design you cannot intervene that much into it, right?
Yeah I feel you man. I always try to keep the design as close to the original as I can. If I feel like I'm pushing it too far I typically reach out to the client and run it by them.
@@GoldenPressStudio best. >If the client approves it you don't have to worry. Thanks for the reply!
There's a bit of green added to the layers though (from offsetting the path) so it' not so much editing the design as it is making it a little more like the original (before adding that green/bleed/whatever-you-want-to-call-it to the layers)
How do you charge for this service?
You have to figure out how long it will take and how much you need to make per hour based on your skill and knowledge.
Be interested to see your rip software dudes?
We plan on making a video on it here soon.
Black does not need a white base
Whadddup sonnnn
Yoooooo!!!
That hurt to watch.
Any viewers out there reading this.
1) learn to get your rego on point.
2) bump up (expand) the black by a hairline, NOT modify other colours.
3) don't waste time like this separating an easy vector file.
4) don't piss around with clients artwork.
My lazy ass knew there is definitely a simpler way of doing this out there.
When you expanded the registration for the red and yellow, didn’t the words get expanded too? I know no one will probably ever read this
If there is ever a part of the design you don't want expanded just deselect that part before you hit expand.
