That's well in-part because the house from Home Alone as well as in real life is based on American Gothic and heavy colonial saltbox, with circa 1760s-1800s dormers. If this particular house was real, it would be a late 1790s mid size mansion.
I don't know if you would see this, but you should try and build older versions of business buildings. A 90s Burger King, a 2009 Wendy's, a 2005 Walmart, etc. This would be extra special since the real scale versions of these buildings are disappearing.
This looks really great! There are some things that really would have sold the illusion even more though: • stopping the clapboard siding a few scale inches off the ground, revealing a stone, brick, or concrete 'foundation'. Wood in contact with the ground will rot, so no one would have wood siding in contact with soil. Also having some slight weathering on those bottom courses would make it look more realistic. Unless a house has been freshly powerwashed, there will always be some kind of dirt on the siding at the very bottom. • house numbers, porch lights, a mailbox, and some kind of clutter on the front porch (potted plants, delivered packages, etc. • gutters, downspouts, and electrical service indicators • outdoor HVAC equipment and panels, etc. • imperfect/dead areas in the grass • a more realistic grade from the house to the street, no yard or sidewalk would ever be perfectly level across that span. • 3d printed frames for the windows, with all the stops and an angled sill to shed water. It's a subtle detail, but scoring the paint on the printed window frames shows that you are willing to go the extra mile for details like this.
Oh my gosh, this is amazing! I love love love miniature houses. Selfishly I wish that you had also done the inside just so I could see it😂 your brickwork is always excellent! only thing I would change would be to make a nicer door knob. Bravo 👏👏👏
Love the colonial style of the house. This is begging for a driveway placed in front with a 1/24 E-Type hanging out in front of the house ;) Glad you like the S4U, I got one for my first printer and it's been very user friendly for a total novice like me.
Thank you so much!! An e-type would look amazing, Maybe I’ll buy a kit soon. my pile of unbuilt car kits is becoming pretty unmanageable haha! Glad to see you have a saturn 4 ultra!! 3D printing is amazing for model cars, especially for small details like door handles and stuff. Thanks again for watching!
1910s luxury tourings also look very just so with these homes. What I never see as often is christmas decorations on these super intelligent home designs. They have beautiful Burgundy, candle red, (navy, evergreen, ochre, yellow) doors, beautiful two toned shutters, and a gorgeous clean ornamentation with the pillars and symmetry, and yet I never see them with garland, wreaths, and lights.
Nice build. Since you already have usable assets like tiny soda bottles, and a magazine rack, might I suggest you combine all of them and make a full Convenience Store? You could just make the whole store, or go fully crazy and even make the gas pumps, an air machine, and a sign showing the gas prices. That would be amazing! 🎉
Awesome! I was going to try and build the Santorini model you made a couple months ago but I think I might try this instead since it looks more beginner friendly.
This is an amazing job! Kudos for showing how the shutters cover up the window trim when they are in the open position! I'll give you a couple hints for your next project. The first floor windows are too low. The heads of the windows would either line up with the top of the door or be higher depending on style. Here the windowsills would almost be at the floor (not a problem) but the heads of the windows would only be about 6' and so you could not see the sky unless you walk right to the window or are seated. Also, the foundation would not be covered by siding below the floor framing. Finally the columns would be at the corners of the architrave or porch beam. Keep up the amazing work!!! I'll have to check out your other videos - great job!
🧐Hey my friend. Meticulous in detail to surgery was my ol' mindset in yesterday 's job, now I see you have shown again that that, is what's in your work today. The tini-tiniest of detail stands out the most in the end. The mind conceives it, you do it, a good follow up. I see it👀😊😅Get it? Memphis,10🇺🇲
Good morning my friend, that was another absolutely outstanding build from a true building master, congratulations on this latest masterpiece, what scale would it be? Best regards from Australia, Les
As always, your attention to detail is impeccable! I love the tiny touches like scoring the window frames; it's one of those things that you don't consciously think about when looking at a model, but wow it really adds to the scale and realistic feel.
While I admire the work you’ve done, I am immediately puzzled by the height of the front door with respect to the windows. Do you climb up the steps to the door just to climb back down once you entered the house?
Cool build with great attention to detail. That said, your front steps are a scale trip hazard. Ideally rises and runs are 7 1/2" x 11" (some variation is allowed) and need to be consistent throughout the steps. Just suggesting.
Cant help but think some cheap laser cutter would help with the repetitive cutting. Unless zoning relaxing out when doing that is part of the reason why you do the models.
Another fantastic miniature! I'd love to see your take on a city townhouse or something similar. An entirely brick and stone house would be really cool to watch you make!
Wow I just looked it up, and it is really close haha!! I honestly just looked up colonial style houses on Pinterest for my reference, but they all look really similar. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you!! And fair enough, but then I cheat on every project, and I’ll probably keep cheating haha! I see 3D printer parts like using parts from a model kit. But it’s more work because you have to design the parts yourself. Thanks for watching!
@@smolworldworkshop - You are right, I had not factored in the time you spend designing the parts. Keep up the good work, you have inspired me to make a Christmas village as a present for someone who is Christmas mad!
I clicked on this because it reminds me of the house from Home Alone.
Same! KEVIN!!

Lovely work as always! Nowadays I don’t have a lot of space for this hobby, but it’s great to watch other go at it and make beautiful things!

I love that you basically made the Amityville house.
That’s an awesome model, it must be the red door coz I thought of Nightmare on Elm Street or Home alone

great work as always, learned lots from ya videos. thanks.
What do you do with your dioramas? With my thanks.
I wonder if a laser cutter could help speed up these builds? Would a laser cutter be able to get through that bass wood?
DO THE INSIDE!!!! I LOVE THIS
What foam safe super glue do you use? Would that work just as well for plastic glass in car model kits?
Reminds me of ropes mansion in salem, Massachusetts
Amazing

Are you familiar with the 90s childrens book I Spy Spooky Night?
