My brother in law printed the wind vane piece of my sailing autohelm on my boat that was vandalised. It’s a completely irreplaceable part from a vintage device. Had he not come to the rescue it would have been a write off. These devices are quite remarkable for sure. Thingyverse is a repository of millions of things that you never knew you wanted 😂
I can't thank you enough for posting this. I've been struggling with 3D printing for ages and 'BOOM', when you showed us your printer.. it was like one of those 'ah-ha' moments. No one said I needed to wear heavy motorcycle gloves!
I started printing in 2020 during lockdown bought a CR10s Pro v2, made a full iron man MK85 suit (wearable)
From there i printed so many things like the gravity gun from portal, lots of movie props etc
Upgraded to resin printing with a elegoo saturn and the quality is out of this world other than the cleanup its super easy
Sad to say i had to sell off my printers due to a house move. But its good if i ever want to go back to it i can with the knowledge of cutting stls and printing super easy
I watch a LOT of tech channels, but the description of it being a like a glue gun, is without doubt the best one I've heard of yet!!
Well done, you might have to start a tech channel 😊 if you're going to do more.
Very enjoyable video
Please do nerd out about 3d printing, its really an amazing technology. I started with a £130 original Ender 3 (v1) about 3 years ago and now after spending twice its value in mods and upgrades its getting awesome prints (except silk pla, its such a pain) I've also built a voron 0.1 and have a resin printer.
Small tip for you, buy a 3d pen, cheap kids ones work good enough, its super useful for welding parts together and filling any holes, also great in a pinch to make a cover or support without having to model, print and test a thing.
I would love to see how you paint any of your creations. I’ve got a print for my friend but I’m scared to mess it up as I don’t really know where to start with prep and paint.
I reckon the Apollo 11 Luna module would be a great one to do.
Is a good hoby but can be practical as i have printed loads of items even used it to mend a guys soda stream not long after i got it.
Real cool would be to learn to real world measure, model, prototype, adjust and print new stuff. For instance I'd like to print some sort of small winglets, or something (anything) to make the headlight of my mt09 look less hideous, I'd love to get into this, but really I don't have time to dive into another hobby
Beginner or not, get a bamboo lab 3d printer 👍 if you heard about drones where DJI are the best of them, bamboo lab 3d printer is the best of them all 😉
oh I recognise that golden toilet 😁
ooooo was it you? I have been trying to remember!
Great video really enjoyed it loved your passion and sharing how easy it can be.
Glad you enjoyed it!
A great video explaining the 3D printing process! If one has CAD capabilities, the process is handy with building supports if required.
Well presented Spicy👌
I bought the Creality Ender V3 KE recently and i have been having trouble with calibration on certain aspects. Stringing is a massive problem with mine, Bambu Laba has a masssive sale on at the time of writing this. They are top tier printers
And creality slicer is soooo bad compared to ones you can get working with their printers
play with heat settings and print a temperature tower slicers have this built in now and you can see what temp works best with the filament you are using. That way you can dial in stringing and reduce it or eliminate it altogether
When I got into 3d printing in 2011, the machines were completely DIY kits, I sourced all the parts for mine separately from eBay and built it over a weekend, it took weeks to get it printing right and the hardware was so rudimentary compared to what is available today. The firmware and control units are also leagues ahead, 3d printing has come so far in such a short span of time, and with that comes the expectation that printers are usable by everyone. I disagree with that, there definitely needs to be some level of technical competence, they aren't magic and they do require maintenance and troubleshooting sometimes. This is something I think has been lost along the way, but the modern machines themselves are great.
That is my point in comparison to the old days, it's easy now. It is also why I like this cheap machine, it will go wrong from time to time and working that out and getting a good print is very rewarding.
Sitting on the fence for a moment, looking at a bambu.
They do seem to be a much better brand and likely my next machine when I get one.
I upgraded from an Ender 5 to a Bambu X1C about 12 months ago, best decision I've ever made
@@PaulGSXR You like the poop shoot? :)
@@shutinyanks I don't swing that way I'm afraid mate 😉🤣
I really need to get into this have you used any carbon filament ?
Not as yet, they will require stronger nozzles as the carbon destroys standard ones.
@@spicy110 Stainless steel or hardened steel ones are cheap enough and work just as good if not better than the cheapo brass ones. The CF-filled or glow in the dark filaments are like sandpaper to nozzles 😅
Good for model making no good for metal parts
Are you dissing 3d printed metal parts!? 😉 They are getting a lot better!
@@spicy110 the government could ban them guns is the problem
You can't make barrels or hardened parts from 3d prints.
I like your posts-- but MAN!!
WHY didn't you have enough patience to wait for Creality to send you what you require, so that you can bloody well DEMONSTRATE the machine in operation rather than taking forever yapping and showing minor stuff? I subscribe. I like you. I detest that you've wasted my time in this post.
I did have the parts it was working, that was not what this video was for. You seem to be saying the whole thing of learning how a printer works, is seeing it move a few mm? Also, I did show it printing in a timelapse in the video, Slow it down if you want to see more. Also as I stated in the video I am planning on making more videos. So why not just ask for me to show more printing in the next video? rather than that comment?
No good if you can't create 3d models yourself .
Huh?
Everyone starts their 3d printing journey by using other people's models, then when the need comes they get to modifying or making their own in programs and websites like Tinkercad then some move on to fusion 360 etc...
@@spicy110 You will soon get bored of using other peoples models, you need to learn how to create models in C.A.D Solidworks etc .
