Perez, Rucka, Simone, and Renae De Liz had my favorite WW runs, but I despised the Grant Morrison WW Earth One books because he made the Amazon’s awful, the New 52 also turned the Amazons into straw feminists and rapists and I hated that part, but I did like their take on the Gods and the character First Born. However I think Rucka and Simone write Diana the best because they both show the complexities of Diana as a Princess, Superhero, Warrior, Healer, Scientist, etc. They both understand Diana a lot and know how to give her charisma. My favorite artists for her are George Perez, Jill Thompson, Nicola Scott, Liam Sharp, Terry Dodson, and Renae de Liz and Ray Dillion. I would recommend The Hikeyta by Greg Ruck and The True Amazon by Jill Thompson and Godwar by Eric Luke, it is criminally underrated.
Thank you so much for the kind words and you know what? It would be an honor to do that at your request. As a huge fan of Teen Titans and Superman, I can make that work. :) Thank you for the idea.
Awesome video & recommendations :) I'll definitely be adding some of these to my wishlist i.e. the Mike Deodato Jr book. With the sudden influx of interest in Wonder Woman thanks to the film - which was pretty great in my humble opinion I really hope that DC capitalise on this further and reprint Gail Simone's run in graphic novel/trade paperback form in full. In all honesty, I'm a bit trepidatious about picking up WW Earth One as I've heard some pretty polarising things about it from friends fellow you-tubers & WW fans who've read it. However, with that being said Grant Morrison is a writer that I enjoy and I've been a fan of Yanick Paquette's art since his work with Scott Snyder on the new 52 Swamp Thing series back in 2011.
Thank you so much for watching. The William Messner Loebs/Deadato book is pure 90s goodness eye candy with a damn good story in it. I think that's why most people overlook it, the 90s art. As I mentioned in the video, Earth One doesn't work for everyone, but since it doesn't take itself too seriously, I really dug it. It is a travesty that DC let those Simone books go out of print. You are right, WW was a great movie and I hope that is a small hint as what is to come.
Hey Omar! Great review, and as of today, I have seen the" Wonder Woman" movie twice. Well worth it. Loved this review. I don't know if you're heard of this graphic novel one-shot, but if you haven't read it, go find it: "Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia". Written by Greg Rucka and drawn by J.G. Jones, it's an awesome blend of mystery, ancient Greek rituals and myths colliding with present day. And it features Batman as well, but he is not just a cameo, he's vital to the story. (The cover alone made me want to read it: Wonder Woman's boot planting Batman's face into the ground!)
Thanks for the THE LEGEND OF WONDER WOMAN REVIEW link. I love the "mentors" angle as it allows exposition of charactor not idiot lecture. A great angle on Show not Tell.
Great video, I've finally grabbed a few of those. 2 Omnis the Gail SImone one and Brian Azarello. Greg Rucka''s 3 Rebirth hardcovers, Morrison's 2 Year one and two.
I'd add Legend of Wonder Woman to that list. It's the best modern origin, and a great starting place for new readers of all ages. Also i'd recommend reading WW rebirth in the issue order it was released. But if someone really wanted to read them in trades, the second volume is a much better start than the first imo.
Thank you for watching, I ordered the Legend of Wonder Woman yesterday and I'm really excited to read it. I was the Rebirth issues as they were released and I'm not sure yet how they are going to collect them in the Deluxe edition which contains 0-13.
Hey, Omar, randomly stumbled onto this video and got a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the Legend of Wonder Woman mention on there, and Nobody for recommending it. So, did you ever read and review it? i looked around and didn't see. Would love to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks!
Hi, Omar. I´ve seen this video some times, but do you think you could do a video with all your Wonder Woman comics? It is just that I got Rucka´s and Byrne´s hc. And I would like to see which other WW comic from the ones you have you would recommend to read. Thanks, take care, regards to Melanie and the family.
Hey, Omar. I just found today WW the contest but in Spanish, El torneo. By ECC editorial. So ... I am about to read Messner-Loebs with Deodato Jr., run. It looks goooooooood.
Any chance for a Wonder Woman update Omar? I’ve been starting to collect quite a few WW HCs and TPs, but would love to see a current review, thanks for your consideration
@@omarvaldivieso7845 would you recommend just jumping in and reading EOTG by itself? I got the original trade and I just want to know if I need to read the previous two trades.
I would love to have, but I ended up selling the Figuarts figure and the Koto Bishoujo is about five years old. I do an overview of my new Kotobukija figures when they come in though.
You didn't like the horror elements added to the story? I mean sure, it depends what you want your kids to see. Beheading of men...eh I may wait a little longer. Now when David and Merideth Finch take over the book it goes damn down hill for sure.
It's not for everyone. But if you like Greek mythology at all it's really great. I'm a huge Wonder Woman fanboy and I was iffy at first but it grew on me a ton because I love Greek myth and now it's probably my favorite run on the low. And the horror elements were really fun.
Not a huge fan of volume 1 cause of all the stupid changes to the origin. But vol 2 if you can ignore the changes does some cool things with her villains. Doctor Psycho is awesome in it.

Thompson's run is heavily underrated.
You know omar i didn't expect you to be the sort of guy to appreciate wonder woman, i really respect that
I love your must read videos! It would be really cool if you could do one for other characters like superman or teen titans

Oh yes sir. That was collected in one of the later Greg Rucka collections. Also it's included in the new Greg Rucka collection.
Thanks for the THE LEGEND OF WONDER WOMAN REVIEW link. I love the "mentors" angle as it allows exposition of charactor not idiot lecture. A great angle on Show not Tell.
Thank you for watching. Wow. This is an older video :)
Healer, ambassador, leader Wonder Woman is how the character was originally designed. He was paying homage to Dr. Marston.
Great video, I've finally grabbed a few of those.
2 Omnis the Gail SImone one and Brian Azarello.
Greg Rucka''s 3 Rebirth hardcovers, Morrison's 2 Year one and two.
Great pick ups!

@@NearMintCondition Thank you 😀
BEST: Marston, George Perez, Messner-Loebs, Greg Rucka, Renae de liz.
Mentions: Daniel Warren Johnson, diniross, jillthompson (alternativeversion), gailsimone, steveorlando.
I’ve not read much of Orlando’s run. I need to fix that.
Great video! I will read the Rebirth Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka!
It's quite amazing.

Omar! It’s past time we got a Wonder Woman reading order
Any chance for a Wonder Woman update Omar? I’ve been starting to collect quite a few WW HCs and TPs, but would love to see a current review, thanks for your consideration
Ohhh I would love to go back and revisit this. Or do a reading order.
Recently read Eyes of the Gorgan and it's my favorite Wonder Woman story also.
Thank you for watching the video and I'm so glad someone agrees with me.

Hi how you doing I have Wonder Woman rebirth 1-5 tp . what’s the reading order is it 2 and 4 then 1-3-5 ?
yes. Then read five and onward. :)
Near Mint Condition thanks
What was the name of the 2nd Loeb book? he is listed with an entirely differed series 1 and 2 on Amazon. Thanks. USEFUL video.
Interesting. I am glad you posted this.
And I'm glad you watched.
@@NearMintCondition Not a problem and thank you again.
Omar, I’m thinking of picking up the Gail Simon Wonder Woman omnibus. Is it a worthy purchase? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
I bought it and I'll do an overview when I get it in.
Could you do a video on those Wonder Woman figures, please?
I would love to have, but I ended up selling the Figuarts figure and the Koto Bishoujo is about five years old. I do an overview of my new Kotobukija figures when they come in though.
None of that is out of print on Digital! Except Rucka's run. I don't think all of that is up yet.
I think you forgot "Spirit of Truth" by Alex Ross
That's a good one. Collected in the World Greatest Collection?
Nice collection 👍🏻
Thank you for the kind words.
what’s the trade paperback that has wonder woman the contest.
Wonderful! How long you’ve been a fan of Wonder Woman? I wonder...
Since the Perez run.
Omar did you have guest over when you recorded it? You’re whispering like somebody is sleeping in the house 🤣
Old mic. Old video. :)
What story would you recommend with Cheetah?
I really think that Wonder Woman by Rucka and Rebirth are great portrayals of the character.
Near Mint Condition are there any particular stories?
@@andreac4757 Wonder Woman: Rebirth
and Wonder Woman, Volume 3, Issues 26-33, “Rise of the Olympian”. Both are in collected editions.
Near Mint Condition thank you so much!!! Love the channel
Thank you so much for the kind words.
Do you have a camera attached to your head or is this a tripod in front of your face?
This one is old. Go Pro I think.
That new 52 WW run was great. Chang's vision for Poseidon and Hades was amazing.
Excellent video
Thank you so much for watching! It was great meeting you on the Live omnibros chat. :)
Could DC make any of these into Omnibuses?
They really could. The Gail Simone one is coming.
@@NearMintCondition Which of these books will that omnibus collect?
The Gail Simone run with Nicola Scott on art.
@@NearMintCondition Is the Super Man Doomsday tpb included in the death and return of super man omnibus?
It's not. That was the rematch.
Great video.
Thank you so much for watching.
No longer live under nuclear threat eh? Well everyone loves a sequel, welcome to Cold War 2!
That the original title of Rocky 4 the Director’s cut.
@@NearMintCondition The Director cut the talking 80's robot.... worst cut ever!
@@Dark_Jaguar HAHAHA I think I still like the original cut better.
lol nukes didn’t go anywhere
Sorry the new 52 wonder woman sucks. No inspiration, dull. The writing is subpar. Good for little kids.
