Grass snake (Natrix natrix). When I was a child (about 4 years old), my parents and me were hiking, and there was a grass snake. My dad caught it and showed it to me, while my mother wasn't very pleased^^ This was when I fell in love with snakes :)
My brother caught a water snake and it bit me I was scared of snakes for like a week I was so scared I couldn't stop thinking about them and that became I couldn't stop thinking about how awesome they are
Corn snake was my first reptile!
I had always loved snakes but the snake that really inspired me to really be passionate about reptiles would probably be my 5ft red tail boa named Ruby she is super calm and loves everyone and I think my red tail boa has inspired my 5 year old sister to love reptiles too,my sister always wants to feed my snakes and hold my snakes all the time,you are my idol Brian and my dream would be to meet you in person but I live all the way in Canada thanks for being so awesome hope you respond
All ball pythons are my favourite and my first snake was a ball python from a reptile expo. But before the snakes I had and still have a blue tongue skink. And that's what got me into reptiles all together

Best misleading title ever.. I thought people were getting bit, got some crisps. Was disappointed :(
Why not make the title: 'How we acclimate people to reptiles at BHB >:D' would be more appropriate ;P
Literally half the people would watch. There's a pretty good reason why people do it. Think of it this way. A movie is able to use trailers and other means to promote and entice people to watch whereas with UA-cam you only have a thumbnail and title to do it. May be a tad misleading but makes people wanna watch it. Having a truthful title such as 'Scared man ends up loving snakes' wouldn't want get people to watch :)

So you like to be mislead by media I guess? This title is simply a form of clickbait, they could have gone with a more original and fitting title. But in this video not even Satan struck at Bryan or that other guy.. And all the other snakes were really calm as well.
When I Finished the video, I Honestly thought they Ment: "Snake Attack" Being the same thing to a heart attack.

I have watched countless episodes and have quietly enjoyed just about every one.
Brain has really been helpful and informative
His passion for reptiles is inspiring and infectious.
I even bought my first snake, after never having touched one before, by driving 2 hours from away and just picking one up, immediately fell in love and took it home. In a span of 6 months I have gotten 3 ball pythons.
However, I am generating some anger due to the accumulation of these ridiculous titles lately. It adds nothing while taking away from everything Brain is trying to do. Cheap tactics for cheap views.
This title in particular was not even relevant at all... Neither was the thumbnail. Really is beyond me.
I will continue watching just because I enjoy Brain but I fear views will be false taken as accepting of the titles rather than the respect Brain has gotten on his own.
Same thing goes for 5 animal facts, the tumbnails and stupid titles kill any interest I had in them.
Thanks for all your work though Brian, keep it up.
I appreciatie your support. Let me try to explain the titles and thumbnails and you can tell me your thoughts. First, if you watch any big UA-camr every title and thumbnail is made to get people to click. Yes it's clickbait because we want people to watch. I always admit that I am looking for more people to watch me show. So let me explain, not only do I need views to pay for the expense of production but I also hope that even if a small percentage of people that click on a sensational title or thumbnail start to enjoy wildlife then it is worth it. If we can not grow our audience then our message does not spread. So would you have me keep a smaller audience and eventually have to stop making the show or grow and not only cover my expenses but be able to teach new people how amazing these animals are. I am not arguing, I am telling you my side and I look forward to your response to this comment. Thanks again, Brian

I do understand your viewpoint and can appreciate your effort to do as much as you can to cover costs and get more people to watch and hopefully get involved with reptiles.
I just personally, I really do mean just in my opinion, that a very large number of the people here ended up on this channel because there is little other content that really even competes with what you bring to the table.
I, myself, stumbled upon this channel looking for information on snakes. Sure, there are documentaries but you bring a bit of humour and just unedited excitement for both the animals and the morphs even though you have been working with them for eons, or rather decades. Something that really lends itself to the people I've met in the hobby so far.
Now I am no way am wishing for you to go under, with regards to this show, nor do I think without sensational titles you would. I just feel that titles that are more representative of the content we are about to watch would be more apt.
For example, just looking at the side bar, "World's Craziest Snake Morphs!!!". It's tells me exactly what I'm about to watch while giving a funny but cool thumbnail. Even various ones from way back that had thumbnails of chewy getting bitten during that week's episode.
I apologize for being rather harsh but I just felt the current tumbnail and title was "over the top". I see this so many times with other videos which just end up being misleading to me. An in news articles and the like you see it all the time.
I understand that this is what you were going for and can respect your decision as snakes in general have such a bad reputation amongst most and finding new people is always a must. It sounds like a necessary evil so I guess I should just accept it.
Again, this is just my opinion and thus I could be the alone in this.
Sorry for the long winded response. Thanks again for all the effort you put into making these videos and what you do for these amazing creatures.

Hi Brian! I think Jonathan made a point here. I understand your strategies as I try to start my own channel (not with this profile though). The thing is, respect is really important on UA-cam, it's what differentiates UA-camrs from TV that basically disappoints a lot of people now. If somebody lands on your video because of the clickbait. Sure they may have a chance to discover something if they stay to watch, if they actually listen to you... but if they are just looking for the sensational part, they are not paying attention to the rest and they actually don't care at all. The only thing you then did is mislead them. They have a smart video, really useful and interesting while they wanted to see something just sensational and not commit to a longer video. The number of views is less important now on UA-cam as you may know, it's all about watch time and fidelity now.
I follow you since two years, I've always been looking forward to your next video... but now I miss some of them, or I watch them later instead of right away. Because the title tells me nothing and the thumbnail is being sensational and... sometimes disgusting or scary. It's actually driving people away from some of your videos and make them think they are right to be scared about snakes who can bite you and you'll end up with a bleeding hand, with a nasty wound etc...
You are trying to educate and that's amazing. But your thumbnail don't educate, they just give people what they want (even if what they want is not actually in the video). Some people might be fine in the end, but there is nothing worth than people who feel like your are playing with them and not respecting them. So you just end up looking less legit.
Like Jonathan that's only my opinion. I have lived in the US for one year, I actually come from France and work in London. I have a background in management and Marketing, so I understand Marketing, but the way I see it, is based on trust and respect. Because people who are happy with what you do, rarely say anything, but people you disappointed or "lied to" they will tell about their bad experience, and they may ruin all your efforts.

I had a dream last night so I was looking in a bin bag for my hamster wheel because it fell in .i reach my arm in and BAM bit I yanked it off (rattle snake )it got out the bag and got on the floor and again BAM strait in the back of my calf .I went into hospital and died just if you wanted to know .Thats why I don't like snakes anymore

i get that. but a thumbnail with a striking snake and a title like this is the wrong way if nothing like this happens. i usually give channels 2 chances. after seeing the second vid which had nothing to do with its title i block the channel using ad blocker. this way the vids dont even show up in the suggested vids. idk- i think if u produce great content u don't need to totally mislead ur audience to generate views. maybe its just me, but i really can't stand this behavior. it also doesn't put a good light on his business. if he misleads me here just for youtube money, hell probably lie or mislead me in his business too
The thumbnail works the same way a trailer would for a movie; you can expect it to be 100% true.

The camera was on the cameraman's head, _and_ Brian isn't actually that tall in the first place. Let's say the cameraman is 6'2 for example, the Brian would be around 5'8/9.

Robbie rotten they don't sell snakes in my country so I've never owned one but I'd say corn snakes, many people have them as pets bc theyre kinda smaller and not venomous
