    And just fyi, I purchased a Concrobium Fogger to treat my attic as well as my HVAC system. Neither of these areas have significant mold from what I can tell, but no doubt the Concrobium is an excellent product. To fog my HVAC duct system, I plan to place fogger at the return air vent and turn the circulating fan on high. If there is too much dust/debris in my duct system, it may not be that effective, but I'm going to give it try!

      Did this end up working on your HVAC? Giving it a shot.

    Concrobium works very well with a fogger.

    If there is mold growth on drywall, unless you are certain it is only surface growth, your must dispose of the drywall....otherwise, it will just grow back!

      It is my understanding that mold cannot grow unless moisture is present. remove the moisture and the mold can't grow. Do you agree with that?

    • @samwimpy2600
      @samwimpy2600 3 роки тому +3

      @@KenTraining Yes, remove moisture and mold cannot grow. However, I don't believe that by removing moisture that it will kill the existing mold...it will just prevent the existing mold from continuing to grow/multiply!
      In no way am I a mold expert...I am self taught from watching You Tube videos. However, from what I have seen....if there is significant mold growth on sheetrock/drywall as well as insulation I think general rule of thumb is that it should be discarded and replaced!
      Framing structure such as 2 x 4's I believe can be effectively treated as well as other larger load bearing type wood construction members.
      Plywood, particleboard type sub floor members I believe in most cases need to be replaced!
      I'm learning on the fly....best of luck to you!

      @@samwimpy2600 from the job that I did I can tell you that I should have replaced the wet drywall. Not because of the mold but because of the water damage. The closet smelled after the job from the wet drywall even though I primed and painted the walls and ceilings. I may have gotten better results if I had used an oil based stain blocking primer but I would have for sure gotten better results had I tore out the wet drywall.

      @@samwimpy2600You're correct. If drywall contains mold it should be removed at least 2 feet from the visible growth on all sides. And to my understanding after doing a TON of research on mold remediation, concrobium doesn't actually kill mold, it just acts as a sealant to prevent it from spreading. If you intend on killing the mold, make sure you use an air scrubber and HEPA vacuum because when you agitate mold, sporulation occurs under heavy stress which could make the problem even worse. Best thing to do is to just get rid of it by removing it.

    • @samwimpy2600
      @samwimpy2600 9 місяців тому

      @@shaquileoatmeal7365 Agree,. Not sure if I fully understand sporulation...but I'd say it's also advantagous to dampen/wet the mold area to cut down on airborn spores being generated when dismantling and removing.

    Did it work well and mold was gone?
    I have mold under sink cabinet on drywall and cabinet woods that need to be removed or treat. The area only had some moisture. I believe materials are not compromised, like bridle or very soft when poke with finger. This is a condo that we are buying.
    Of course my mold inspector want to remove and have remediation company come in charge a lot of money.

    • @KenTraining

      In my case the mold was gone. I did have a smell in the closet for about 6 months before it went away. I should have replaced the water damaged drywall to avoid that, but as of today all is good. the Concrobium is a good product and I would use it again.

    It appears to me that you plan on keeping the drywall/sheetrock...I don't believe that is recommended b/c of it's high porosity!

    Same issue in a closet. I bought this product bc i heard great reviews from ppl who refurbished Mobile homes in Florida. If this stuff would work for those types of jobs it might work for me. Im curious if this product works like it says it does.

    You did a great review, thank you for sharing. I have mold growth on all of my windowsills from condensation that accumulated over the winter and I'm looking for options to use. I have kids and pets, is this safe to use around them? Also, do you recommend wearing gloves, mask, etc..?

    • @KenTraining
      @KenTraining  3 роки тому +1

      you would need to read the label about the kids and pets. I have 2 dogs and no issue. because you are killing mold, you should be wearing gloves and mask during treatment of mold.

    Good that you could treat inside wall cavities with an aerosol can of concrobium.

  • @c.m.303
    @c.m.303 2 місяці тому

    Strange....is the active ingredient actually baking soda? Pretty expensive baking soda! The difference between the bicarbonate in baking soda and the carbonate in concrobium can be removed by heating the baking soda in the oven at 400 degrees, or on the stove, stirring occasionally. The heat will draw out the different elements, makes it look like it's bubbling while it is "evaporating" and what's left is just the sodium carbonate. But both work about the same on mold, from what I have heard.
