@@jaronax Yep, and they nebulously recorded material until around 1997. The two didn't even really know what the collab was supposed to become initially; a Brian Wilson solo album, a Beach Boys reunion album, etc.. Meanwhile, Brian was being pulled around by various people in his circle who bizarrely did everything they could to not make this happen despite the general enthusiasm towards the sessions by the other Beach Boys who would begin to favor the project as a potential reunion album. Brian was eventually persuaded to explore the adult contemporary genre in a collab with music producer Joe Thomas which resulted in the Brian Wilson solo album "Imagination" the following year in 1998. Any hope for a Beach Boys reunion album would be lost until 2012 with their last album "That's Why God Made the Radio".

So Andy Paley didn’t work on Pet Sounds but he did work often with Brian in the 90’s and early 2000’s.
With that said, many of the musicians who worked on Pet Sounds (session musicians from the famous Wrecking Crew) did in fact play the instruments on this track.

Come to think of it this song is probably heavily inspired by Pet Sounds-era Beach Boys. The only thing this AI cover is missing is the layered harmonies from the other Beach Boys. Otherwise it sounds pretty damn good. Makes me wish they'd actually recorded this song.
