If the RAF didn't have as good an optical image camera on another aircraft, then couldn't they have kept flying the Canberra for a few more years until they had fixed the camera onto another aircraft type. The Canberras were used in Afghanistan until just a few weeks before they were retired, which was at the end of July 2006. If they were useful in Afghanistan in 2006, then perhaps they should have used them for longer. Then again the aircraft were getting very old, and there was a fatal crash of a T4 Canberra in 2004.
In my youth I had the privilege of working on canberras, it was a beast , built to last, tough , and reliable. Sad passing.
How I wish I could find more videos of these series! Thank you so much for uploading
Good stuff
Love this documentary and great to hear Harry Enfield doing a voiceover in a serious documentary stylee 😊😅
RIGHT!!!!!!!!!! - Built some more canberra's but with re-heat engines!
The airframe wouldn't take supersonic flight
Cool
That’s an old crew! Experienced!

Is that Harry Enfield doing the narration? It sounds exactly like him.
