That's what I've been wondering for a while, but I think the high action makes it almost impossible to play like this, and I've played with high action for a year and limited my playing that way. Which also makes me wonder which is the safest action level to play on, somewhere between not too high and where the strings don't buzz. And I think you just gotta fiddle with the settings a lot to get that strong sound, maybe gain helps but I have no clue, this is just me guessing
